Last month we got an exciting new trailer for Suicide Squad with tons of new footage. One of the most interesting moments was when we saw Jared Leto's Joker laying down, surrounded by knives and blades, laughing maniacally.
Now thanks to a new 15-second promo video released on the official Suicide Squad Instagram account, we get an even better (and longer) listen to Leto's laugh. Check it out below!

I can't tell from this promo but I guess I'll have to check out the trailer again. I'd be surprised if they did however I wouldn't mind either way. I'm ok with the new look and I think it fits in with the tone of the film and the DCEU in general.

I thought that the red shirt of the Joker's and Harley's blue shirt melted off and liquidized in the chemicals and that's how it stained Harley's hair.
I think he still has the Jester tattoo on his chest, and he doesn't seem to have the grills either. That could mean this scene is a flashback, and he'll get the 'damaged' tattoo later.
Before the Joker dives into that pool of chemicals (in the trailer) you can see he's wearing the same red shirt he had in those set pics from last year, and back then he still had the damaged tattoo, so it's pretty much confirmed the chemicals don't remove tats.

That laugh is pure 'Joker'. Jared Leto won me over when the comic con trailer came out last year. Of course there was some backlash when he was cast (people are close-minded and don't want to let go of Heath), and when we got a first look at him as the Joker (people don't want to accept anything different), but that's because he's such an iconic character that people care. All the actors that have portrayed the Joker in the past have done great jobs, and we should respect that, but that doesn't mean we can't be open to any new versions. From what we've seen so far, and from what I can tell, Jared Leto is going to be the best live action Joker ever, and I already feel sorry for whoever's going to take up this role in a future reboot.
Why does it have to be, and I quote "close-minded" and "don't want to let go of Heath"? Why can't it be, they just don't find this new rendition appealing or interesting? You can't categorize every single being that does not like the new cinema Joker into why you think they don't like it. For example, I'm not fond of the latest Lex Luthor, and it has nothing to do with Rosenbaum, Spacey, or Hackman. I simply cannot see Jessie as a dominating character. Maybe it's his posture, the way he carries himself, his acting ability; I see it every single movie - it's always the same whether he plays a good guy or a bad guy. Not to say he's bad, I just don't have any interest in seeing him in the film whatsoever because I don't like his acting. Are you going to say it's because I'm close-minded?
Before you do, know that my favorite director is Zack Snyder. I know he isn't the best writer, but it's his passion that wins me over from the likes of great writers like Nolan. Man of Steel is one of my favorite films of all time. However, there's only one scene I didn't like, it was the scene Superman and Lane shared a kiss. I have my reasons why, but I thought everything else; the acting, sound, score, script, visuals, and portrayal of Superman were, humanly speaking, pitch-perfect. And I know Zack chose Jessie for the role of Lex. Also, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is my most anticipated film of 2016. Now, with all that in mind, can you still possibly say "it's because people are close-minded"? Btw, I like the new Joker with him, easily, being the most anticipated part of the film, at least for me.
You may be an exception, but most people who don't like this new Joker are either Ledger-Joker fans or DC haters (and no, I didn't call you an exception to defend my original statement). I've literally seen hundreds of people saying "Heath Ledger is the best Joker" "Jared Leto sucks" "No one will beat Heath" "Heath Ledger is my only Joker". A lot of these people aren't 'fans' like us who follow movie news, they're casual movie-goers. And most of the times, in a reboot, when the cast is announced, it's these people that always complained the loudest. They don't know or care how the new actor will portray that character, how comic book accurate his/her version will be - all they care about is that they don't want to let go of the previous version they got attached to...because they're close minded (in this case at least).
Every live action Joker has been different. Heath's doesn't look anything like in the comics, and people hated him before TDK came out, and then that year he was the most cosplayed. People hated Jared's tats, and now I see more and more people getting over them - they're accepting this new version. But that's just the Tats and grills. Behaviour wise, from what we've seen so far, he seems to be closest to the comic version, and a lot of his costumes from the trailer are also inspired from the comics.
(PS. This Lex Luthor is not supposed to be 'dominating'. He's from the comics, and I'd rather have someone like Jesse over a typical, intimidating bad guy. Being slightly different than what we usually see in superhero movies makes him more interesting, to me at least). :)
Yep, that'll work. His laugh is about as good as the last two cinematic clowns. That mystery creature with the tentacles, intrigues me.

I don't hear Ledger in Leto's Joker laugh
There's not a hint of Nicholson's laugh either. It's completely new and I love it.
He has that Joker laugh. He is becoming the Joker. Now, I'm not forgetting about Ledger, who still holds as one of the best supporting/villains roles ever to me. These are different incarnations of a character. Leto has something here like Ledger.
I like Leto's Joker, but to me that laugh sounds more like a penguin laugh than a joker laugh.
I do agreee (about the forced part, not worst part). I think it'll be cool if he uses his laugh as a intimidation tactic bc his laugh unsettles my jimmies.

It looks like Leto's face is more painted looking around his mouth in this shot. Perhaps it's a flashback, maybe before he fell/was thrown into the chemicals? Interesting.

That Joker scene where everything in life sucks, yet you don't care. You just laugh it off.
I'd like to see a bit of interaction with the Bat before I'm on board. But from what I've seen I don't have a problem so far. There were a few scenes in the trailer (mostly car scene where batman is featured supposedly) where he looks annoyed and that's perfect. Joker has always had moments of pure annoyance with the Batman, something that I thought the Heath-joker lacked.
