on Jim Lee drew a 'Batman v Superman' cover for Empire magazine subscribers

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will grace the cover of the March issue of Empire magazine, which goes on sale later this week. But while we wait, Empire has released their limited edition cover that will be shipped out to subscribers only. The black and white illustrated cover was done by DC co-publisher Jim Lee.

The March issue hits newsstands and tablets on Thursday, January 28, and features new interviews with Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot. We'll probably get to see some new images as well!

      Dang, how long is Bruce's 'knightmare' going to last? Maybe he has multiple visions? I wonder if Zod's mind reading device from MoS and/or Diana's lasso of truth are somehow connected to Bruce's prophecy.

        Im guessing that Lex has figured out how to utilize the Krytonian cerebral probe and apart of the LEX OS is this weird Krytonian trip shit that's happening to Wayne. The other may be a kind of fully linked OMAC like drone system for the government

          Yeah, I think Luthor and/or Bruce have coopted the Kryptonian computer system and accidently expose themselves to the mind reading machine. Another theory I have is that Diana takes apart whatever that mind reading machine is and uses it to create her lasso of truth. Otherwise, Bruce is just in such a state of anxiety that he's having terrible nightmares about the future. The details (parademons, Darkseid's omega symbol) are too specific though for it to just be a random dream. This is clearly more of a vision/prophecy than just a nightmare.

          I wonder if the Kryptonian's have previous experience with Darkseid and somehow that data is transferred to Bruce's subconscious as a warning signal.

            I think it would be smart for Snyder and co to find a way to tie Darkseid/ the New gods to the Krytonians, as it would take soo much exposition to explain them and that world. It would be better if they were a civilization who once fought against Krypton or were one of the reasons as to why Krypton used their resources up. But have Darkseid be ancient, like pre Jor El and what not.

            The lanterns can parrallax, they have the Sinestro wars and if DC wants to be slick, they can plug the Anti Monitor in with the Lanterns. But Darkseid has always been more of a Superman villain for me, I think cinematically it would just make sense

            But yeah, I also agree on Diana, but at the same time, this could not even be bruce's vision, this could honestly be a vision that Diana had while visiting an Oracle or something, this could be the reason why she will be adamant about bringing these two knuckleheads together, for the real threat to the human race.

            That's a great point. I've just been assuming these are Bruce's visions, but would make sense that Diana can see what will happen to Bruce and Clark (and the rest of the world) if they don't unite.

            i think i figured out the entire nightmare sequence:

            - Superman becomes a tyranne and he goes to far and even kills entire cities, hence the desert scene and everyone is living in fear (Injustice Storyline)

            - batman has no chance to go against a guy who is willing to kill so he calls in a demigod (darkseid), so if the planet goes down he will take superman with him

            - batman then goes to the superman military base where he gets captured obviously

            - he is getting chained up and superman orders his soldiers personally to execute batman ( Its all just a time killer so superman won't see darkseid coming and he is distracted)

            - When they go upstairs in this huge area and batman is about to get killed the parademons and darkseid are coming and superman will loose

            - batman uses this chance to fight back and escape probably?

            Does this make any sense to you guys?

      That looks so perfect... Seriously. Ben Affleck's return to mainstream cinema was already impressive enough, but shutting everyone up as Batman will just be another achievement for him. Yet I know nerds will always complain about casting before they ever see anything because it's just the way it works. Really hopes he knocks it out of the park, and I really can't wait for a Batman flick directed by this dude.

      The Batsuit looks incredible honestly. Best costume in a Snyder film since Nite Owl and Rorschach in Watchmen in my opinion

    I love Jim Lee, don't get me wrong, and he is one of my top references as an artist together with Capullo, Ross and some others... But I would have apreciated it if he reached out to make at least Superman's face look closer to Cavil.

    Anyway, fantastic artwork, nonetheless.

    Jim Lee is so inhouse at DC that i'd say he's already seen the film and already has a followup comic planned. If not DC needs to do it with him and S Snyder at the Helm, really interested to see their takes on some stories in this universe
