   It's been explained in the Brave and Bold comic series. Nothing interesting happened, she was having a normal day, until Joker showed up.

      But the interesting thing about this story is that Joker doesn't shoot her because she's Batgirl. He shoots her to get to her father. It doesn't happen because she's a superhero, it happens because she's Barbara.

         Very true but that doesn´t mean the movie cannot show her as Batgirl. Joker doesn´t know she is Batgirl but if the audience knows it it makes it all the more tragic.

         It would be very cool if they would show flashbacks in the movie how Barbara met Batman and became Batgirl (kind of what they did with Jason Todd in the Arkham Knight: Genesis series) and show a bit of her Batgirl career, her bond with Batman and her friendship with Dick etc. It would make the scene where Joker shoots her all the more powerful, especially for casual viewers who don´t know that Barbara was Batgirl (because not only comicfans will watch this film. Most Batman movie fans probably are not aware of Barbaras history as it was never shown on the big screen)

            Great collection. This is from The Brave and the Bold (Volume 3) #33. On my end the pages are backwards. Oh well...I tried. If you can sort them out, it'll give you the backstory on what she was doing.

   Really looking forward to this. Killing Joke is one of my most favorite comic books of all time. I hope they really nail the tone of it and don´t tone it down or anything. That certainly would make this not a childrens movie but I really hope its as close to the tone of the book as possible. Also hope they get Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy for this. And I am curious who they will cast as Barbara. Kimberly Brooks or Ashley Greene (as in the Arkham games) would be REALLY sweet.

   Also curious what they will add to the story. Maybe a deeper exploration of the Jokers past or how his mind works. Anyway haven´t been this excited for an animated movie since Superman/Batman: Apocalypse !

         And he would be the perfect Gordon in Live action if casted. Even if the rumours are true that he is dead, just have Cranston's portrait somewhere in Barbara's apartment at least lol.

    Heres hoping they take full advantage of the "greenlight" for an R-rating; because we all know too well a studio (usually) cares about maximizing profits by "reaching a broader audience" reducing a product to a PG-13 rating.

    i hope they made a masterpiece art for this movie, the last movies have been disappointing me in the visual part.. it looks empty, minimalist, almost lazy shadows, its only beautiful when it has some effect like rain or a strong light.. http://cdn1.sciencefiction....

    I don't see a way this comic could adapt to movie form without the R rating. No way that PG-13 could get a pass for me. Image if Pulp Fiction or the Wolf of Wall Street were neutered to lower than R rating, wouldn't be as compelling or successful.

    The question is if elements from The Killing Joke will be used in BvS and if it is then we might see a crippled Barbara Gordon.
