Nicole Kidman's 'Wonder Woman' role is still up for grabs

In early November it was reported that Nicole Kidman was in talks for a major role in Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. Later that month, Warner Bros. put out a press release announcing the cast, and Kidman's name was missing. Another beautiful blonde actress, Robin Wright, was listed instead, and many fans assumed that she landed the role that Kidman was in talks for. Not so fast!

Variety reporter Justin Kroll just shared some interesting info about this story on Twitter. According to Kroll, Kidman wasn't able to take the Wonder Woman role due to scheduling issues, and Warner Bros. is still deciding what to do with the role that's believed to be Hippolyta.

One option would be to give it to Robin Wright, while the other is to find a new star. Wright closed her deal before Warner Bros. even approached Kidman, so it'll be interesting to see what Warner Bros. decides to do with the Hippolyta role.

This is very interesting news. I think Robin Wright would be a great Hippolyta. If Hippolyta has a small role in the film, I don't want Robin Wright to play the role. Robin Wright is a great actress so I want her to have a larger role in the movie.

Maybe that will turn into a Gal Gadot situation for him. She missed out on Faora and got Wonder Woman later. He missed out on Flagg and who knows? Maybe he'll land something bigger and badder in a future DC feature.

Hippolyta will probably only appear on Themyscira and/or ancient Greece (or whatever they do w/r/t the Amazons backstory). They wouldn't need her for WWI London.

Well, we do have a movie coming in the next 3 months that features Wonder Woman (who is a female superhero icon) so that can bring a lot of people (mainly females) to see her in theaters. Now it's up for Gadot to really steal the show and do a great performance of being Wonder Woman to win audiences over. But as of right now, it looks like a lot of people are excited that they've shown Wonder Woman in the recent Trailers, so who knows?

Have you seen her in House of cards? It’s all about screen presence. With heels she’s as tall as Spacey if not taller. The woman commands any room. She’s as tall as Angelina Jolie or Kate Winslet and taller than Naomi Watts and Sienna Miller.

I've just got to say this. I went to see Star Wars last night and they showed the recent Batman v Superman trailer (I was surprised about it). When it got to the part where Womder Woman was shown, some young girls got REALLY excited. After the trailer ended, they were talking about how excited they were now that Wonder Woman was coming.

I'll admit I was hoping for a little more star power now that Affleck and Smith signed to the DCEU from other actors. However like Marvel it needs to be earned. Actors have to consider what the film or films will do to their image. Because thats how they get signed on for more work. If the last 5 years of T.V.and Marvel has shown us anything is that quality acting, writing, direction and production will prevail. We haven't even hit Justice League yet guys.

Personally if Affleck smashes the solo Batman film and justice League can beat Avengers Assemble (JL Part1) and Avengers: age of Ultron (JL part 2) in critic reviews and sales. Trust me everyone will be clambering for a DCEU part.
