on See the new 'Batman v Superman' trailer in IMAX 3D this weekend

The new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer will be attached to the IMAX 3D showings of Warner Bros.'s new movie In the Heart of the Sea this weekend. Director Zack Snyder just made the announcement on Twitter.

That means that there will be some real, native IMAX footage in that version of the trailer, since the movie was partially shot in IMAX.

Batman News reader Vahn saw the IMAX trailer with In the Heart of the Sea and revealed which scenes were shot in IMAX. They include the first fight in the rain, the nightmare sequence, and Wonder Woman's appearance at the end.

Back in April at the IMAX trailer event, they showed a version of the trailer that included native IMAX scenes, and fans will get to see more scenes that were shot natively in IMAX with In the Heart of the Sea this weekend.

      I imagine the one-on-one fight sequence was shot that way. It wouldn't make much sense to use those cameras for the party scene.

      All of the shots of armored Batman v Superman. Probably also all the shots with Doomsday and Wonder Woman. Wouldn't is be glorious if Snyder shot as much of the third act with IMAX as possible? I hope we'll find out soon how much IMAX he used. I hope it are long sequences of nonstop IMAX.

          Exactly. Well said, like we can't buy everything we see, it's like on here, if you critique one thing. You just get swaddled and get labeled as a Marvel fan boy or something, this trailer got some people worried

        Not really... If you follow post on here I've ALWAYS was content about the movie no matter what and the hype for me was over the top. I even had Dreams of me waiting in line for this movie. Trust me I've been the Biggest supporter since it was first annouce in 2013. This trailer just wasn't for me. I feel like some of the humor wasn't necessary. I feel like they should've waited for Doomsday for Trailer 3. I buy Batman v Superman but I sell Dawn of Justice. So please don't tell me I'm a false fan because if you knew me, I'm always spreading the good word on YouTube about this movie, I've always stood by it and I'll always will. But come on every now and then you get nervous about this movie

        The tension that was created by the first couple of trailer especially the sneak peak was completely undone...it had a completely different tone and the shots of the trinity and doomsday takes away from seeing them in a theater or the processes of them coming together...the editing was jarring, like in MoS, immense destruction/ neck snap then cut to a brand new Daily planet where everyone is back to normal with no indication of time or how things were rebuilt...now this movie is set to take place within 2 years of those events and virtually the whole zone is rebuilt with a monument to superman? The Freedom tower took more than 11 years to plan and build....

          The problem is none of us can be sure what we'll see in the film, so both, you and the doubters that you're trying to convince, have to make an act of faith.

    This is the first time Zack has even mentioned the new trailer on Twitter. I was concerned that he was mad at marketing for cutting the trailer the way they did; supposedly an earlier version didn't show Doomsday at all.

        I just had a cool idea for what they could have done instead... End it with just one or two frames of the long shot of Doomsday, a fraction of a second, with the roar as voice-over as it goes to black.... Allow all us crazies to go nuts blowing up those frames and arguing.

    But one more thing. Doomsday does not have the ability to use heat vision either. So personally, I don't believe that he's Doomsday. Because if he can use heat vision, then maybe he can't talk either.

      It's Doomsday. No way they're going to use a character that looks pretty much like Doomsday (be it what looks like an early version in the trailer) and have it be someone else. Possible they won't have a name for him (yet) but knowledgable folks will know who he is :)

    Depends. The version in the Justice League animated series spoke rather well. But this version does seem a bit more brutish

    I don't have plans for IMAX this weekend, but I did just come back from In the Heart of the Sea. New BvS trailer was the last thing to play before the movie. Like the comic con trailer, WB, for some reason, edited a slight few scenes from it. Didn't have nearly the same impact. Weird.

    Fingers crossed Ayer got to shoot quite some with IMAX for Suicide Squad. I love that WB goes 35mm on all their DCEU films so far but it would be amazing if every director of those films gets to use IMAX. There's nothing better than that.

      Not really unfortunately. However, I remember having seen a pic of the DOP with an IMAX camera and a report that they were going to make aerial shots of Toronto with an IMAX camera attached to the helicopter. Since literally no journalist ever asks questions about the usage of IMAX, I figure we'll have to wait a long time to find out! Really hope Ayer used it though, imagine seeing the Suicide Squad on screen partially shot with IMAX!

    I started to rewatch Justice League cartoon - this show will never get boring for me, same with Young Justice :D
    So many memories and feels :P
    (Although i'm watching not with english dubbing but in my native language which i prefer in case of this show)

        They could probably afford it if they weren't losing money to media pirates. They're still making a ton of money, but not as much as they should be.

      They already have... The old-school educational IMAX films, anyway. The camera is too loud to use during dialogue sequences, and if you have to ADR everything you will lose a lot of the actual acting. So, they use it for segments where a) the visuals make it worthwhile, and b) they were probably going to plug in a bunch of sound effects anyway.

I avoided that article because you warned of spoilers, then you blurt it out here like an overexcited six year old. I suspected that might have been a dream but I wanted to see for myself. You're so inconsistent. Please, start holding back your inner fangirl and stop spoiling stuff without proper warning. Aghhhhhh.     Wait, just to be sure - will it be the last trailer or completely new/with new scenes? I got a little confused here though it seems that first option is the case.
    Lucky for those who are going to see this movie, i'd love to watch any of trailers on the big screen (and hear surprised gasps or questions 'Are they making THAT MOVIE?' from the audience - believe me, it wouldn't be the first time).

    Saw it before the movie. The 3D looked terrible. Way too much going on and was hard to see. Love IMAX but hate that you're forced into 3D when you don't want to.
