Dark Knight III: The Master Race variant covers

Holy variant covers Batman! Clearly the release of Dark Knight III: The Master Race is a big deal... A huge deal! The Dark Knight Returns is often voted the best Batman book by fans, so with DC releasing the third chapter in this series, I think we all expected there to be a lot of hype and buzz around the title. I don't think we expected 50+ variant covers... But, guess what? That's what we got! 50+ Dark Knight III: The Master Race variant covers, and some of them are REALLY GOOD! So naturally, we decided to pull all of them together for a cover poll(I'm going to pull a line out of Andrew's book, "You don't have to thank me.").

You'll find each of the variant covers are listed below (please note that some official variants are just the pencils of a completed cover featured below... the pencil covers are not included). Since there are so many covers, I had to create two separate polls. Due to this, the winners will be pulled and announced based on the total number of votes they received. In total, the top 6 covers with the most votes from both polls will automatically move on to the 2015 Best Cover Poll, (so there could be 4 covers from the first poll, and 2 covers from the second, or 3 and 3, or 1 and 5, etc). We will announce the winners in next week's Upcoming Comics post, so take a couple of hours to view all of these covers, then vote your hearts out before time runs out!

I have the Albuquerque cover, but had to vote for Murphy 1. That's just an amazing cover.

oh WOW ...They've called in ALL the warriors. Great works all around, but i have to say i'm a sucker for a well painted cover as opposed to the usual comic book style. Also props to Dave Dorman for not resisting the pun.

So many awesome covers it's too hard to pick just one. Good thing we can vote for multiple covers. I hope that they put out a book with all of them in it, I'd def buy it.

For the first poll I went with: Brian Stelfreeze, Dave Jonhson 2, and Jim Lee.
The second one I had to go with a single vote and it was Sean Murphy 2.

A LOT of Carrie Kelley on those variant covers. There's no way that Zack Snyder passed up the opportunity to adapt a Frank Miller originally created character, into Batman v Superman. She's totally in the movie.

Just sooo damn many! Not that I'm complaining though! I can pick my own top ten out of all these amazing looking covers.. but if I had to pick two.. and ONLY two, it would have to be Del Otto and Bermejo's. Those look stunning! I'm wondering why they didn't tap Alex Ross for this project though.. would love to see his own take on TDKR! :)

  Yeah, I'd like to have seen a Ross, too. They just didn't get enough covers for this book! I'd like to see a Gulacy, and a Mahnke, and Ryan Sook, Alan Davis, Graham Nolan, Frank Quitely, David Mazzucchelli …

I picked Eduardo Risso and Matt Wagner. I wanted to vote for guys who've drawn memorable whole stories about Batman, but who haven't done one in a while making it kind of special to see them again.
