Here's another crazy (but awesome) story about just how dedicated Jared Leto was to his role as The Joker in Suicide Squad! While speaking to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 yesterday, Will Smith admitted that in the six months he spent working on Suicide Squad, he never met Jared Leto. The only person he spoke to was The Joker while filming.
"I've never actually met Jared Leto. We worked together for 6 months and we've never exchanged a word outside of 'action' and 'cut'. We've never said 'hello'. We've never said 'good day'. I've only ever spoken to him as Deadshot and him as The Joker.
"I literally have not met him yet. So the first time I see him will be 'hey Jared, what's up? Will, hey man, how you doing? Nice to meet you'. Not a single word exchanged off-camera. He was all in on The Joker!"
We've heard stories about Jared Leto's method acting on Suicide Squad before, but it's just so crazy to keep hearing stories like this. Working that closely with someone for six months and never even saying "hello". I don't know about you, but these stories make me so excited to see what Leto has in store for the Joker come August 5, 2016 when Suicide Squad hits theaters.
