To no surprise to anyone, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has officially been rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). But why the movie is PG-13 is much more interesting. Here's the official rating description:
Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action throughout, and some sensuality.
Looks like the fights between Batman and Superman will get pretty brutal, and there may be some romance between Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince.

I liked sucker punch, I understood exactly what Snyder was doing with the movie, Terrio would have given better execution to the dialog for sure. Never know, Terrio and Snyder could collaborate on other future films

That´s why I think Miller isn´t the best choice. He doesn´t seem to be a director who can get the most of actors.

I would personally pick Damien Chazelle (Whiplash) due to the great pace he achived on that movie. I feel like the Flash movie should be like a race, only going faster and with more tension as minutes go by.
I wouldn´t let Damien alone though, visually he would be advised by Zack and all his team.

"pretty brutal" with a PG-13 ? No not really. They also had intense violence and action in the Fast and Furious films for example but those were far from brutal either. Now Deadpool on the other hand - that will be a brutal movie. I would be surprised if BvS would even be as dark and brutal as the Daredevil show. Because that one was really brutal for a superhero story. Drew Goddard even recently admitted that one of the reasons they did daredevil on netflix instead of a movie is because they could never go that intense and brutal in a movie with it. So I doubt Batman V Superman will even have that level of brutality. At the end of the day it is still a Batman and Superman movie , which needs to appeal to kids as well (because there are actually millions of kids who love these two) - especially if they want to compete with Marvels blockbuster juggernauts (who are mostly geared towards the entire family and not just for kids or adults, which is a major reason why they make so much money). Sure if they make BvS only dark and for adults it will please a certain core audience here but it won´t do them any favors at the box office (especially considering how much this movie costs). As much as the "DC is only doing deep, meaningful and dark films that are not for kids" brigade hates to admit it, but movies about icons such as Batman and Superman (and definitely the Justice League films) have to be family entertainment films that kids and adults can enjoy - otherwise Marvel and Star Wars who have fully embraced the family entertainment aspect will crush them at the box office. Its not like Deadpool, Punisher or Spawn where you make these films only for a select adult audience. BvS MUST appeal to kids as well as adults.
So no , don´t expect a "brutal" movie here. Intense and epic - yes. But brutal, bonecrushing violence? No. That will be appropriate for Suicide Squad but not for a Batman and Superman film. Just look at the Batman/Superman comics or animated films. They are perfect family entertainment. they have some darkness and intensity but there is no kids-alienating brutality there. These are the two biggest superhero icons of all time. You don´t do a movie with those two names that you can´t show to kids.

I mean, the intensity of the fight itself, not the tension between them. Because in that fight they went all out, so I guess they'll do the same here, they'll throw punches like never before. It's like the intensity in the fight between Clark and Zod times 100.

I think it depends on the villain really. I just watched flashpoint again last night and when he was fighting the rogues in the beginning he jokes around with them cause he can but when professor zoom comes into the picture he can't joke around anymore cuz shit is about to get serious.

I think it can be funny, but in an intelligent way, not "in your face" comedy. The first Iron Man had comedy, but it felt natural. But then they overdid the funny parts in the following movies, turning their movies in pure comedy.

It will be interesting to see how they play it, the Flash is somewhat comedic but it has to be done within the overall tone of the DCEU.

I think that the DCEU lends itself really well to having vast ranges of tones for their movies.
Suicide Squad feels distinctly different to BvS. It has more of a dark humor tone and setting. Flash could have a more lighter tone and it could fit in just perfectly.
WB reaching out to Lord and Miller is an indication as to their proposed style for the Flash.
