As I’ve mentioned before, we have some catching up to do as far as our Cover Polls are concerned. This year, we started adding Cover Polls to our weekly Upcoming Comics post. We then had requests to add the themed variant cover polls, so we started with June’s Joker themed variants, and began adding these polls to each month’s Solicitations post. Because we started this halfway through the year, the themed variants for January, February, and March of 2015, were never voted on… So we’re going to knock those out here!

On top of that, a reader reached out to me on Twitter asking why we didn’t include the non-themed variants in a cover poll… Well, if I’m being honest, it was partially due to laziness, and the amount of time it would take to hunt down each of these covers. BUT, it has recently become a little easier for me to get these covers, and I’m happy to say that we are catching up on these covers as well. In addition to the themed variants for January through March, we’ve also included polls for non-themed variant covers for January through July of 2015! *Note: There aren’t any non-themed variants for May due to Convergence.

So here’s how this is going to work. Since we are playing catch-up, things are going to be a little wonky. Any cover that was released in Q-1 or Q-2 that wins it’s poll will automatically move on to the Best Cover of 2015 poll since we’ve already voted on the best covers for those quarters. Covers that were released in Q-3 that win their poll will move on to the Best Cover: Q-3 poll which will be posted in October. Moving forward, we will vote on covers with the following cadence:

Best Cover of the Week – We will continue to add a cover poll to each week’s Upcoming Comics poll. The winning cover will then move on the quarterly poll. Any cover that is within 5% of the winning cover will also move on as an honorable mention.

Best Themed Variant Cover (Monthly) – We will continue to add this poll to each month’s Solicitations post. The winning cover will then move on the quarterly poll. Any cover that is within 5% of the winning cover will also move on as an honorable mention.

Best Non-Themed Variant Cover (Monthly) – This will be a new post entirely on its own! I will collect all of the non-themed variant covers for that month, and included them in this post. The winning cover will then move on the quarterly poll. Any cover that is within 5% of the winning cover will also move on as an honorable mention.

From here, the winning covers will be included in their quarterly poll. Then the winners from the quarterly polls will advance to the Best Cover of 2015 poll (which will be its own post), and then we will rank the top 25 covers based on the results! If you have ideas on how to make this process a little more efficient, I’m open to hearing them. I can’t guarantee that we’ll execute them, but we will consider them.

Alright, the covers are separated by their category below. After all of the covers for each category have been featured, you will find a poll for that category. The winners of each poll will be announced in next week’s Upcoming Comics post.
