'The Dark Knight Rises' theater shooter sentenced to life in prison

James Holmes, the gunman who opened fire in an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater during a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in 2012, has been sentenced to life in prison.

A jury got together yesterday and was unable to reach a unanimous vote for the death penalty, so as a result Holmes will spend the rest of his life in prison without parole.

Holmes, who killed 12 people and injured 70 others, had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. He was convicted last month of 24 counts of first-degree murder -- two for each of the slain victims, CNN reports.

One bit of info from this story caught my attention -- he repeatedly attempted to reach out to the psychiatrist at the college he went to, but the psychiatrist paid no attention. As it turns out, there is a pattern. Look at other shootings, and you'll find that in the majority of them the maniacs tried to get someone to stop them. Dreadful reality. Almost as if the Red Dragon itself held their minds in its clutches.

Nothing against this article, but I kinda wish he would have just been sentenced with no media coverage. I kinda hate how this guy got turned into a celebrity because he murdered people. I feel this way about all killers and such that get covered in the news and have their faces plastered everywhere (after they get caught mind you, if they're still looking for them we need to know what they look like) but this guy wanted people to know him. He called himself the joker and wanted everyone to pay attention to him. He kinda just...got exactly what we wanted. I'd rather the media have reported more on the victims, and showed their faces on the news, instead of this piece of shit and his pictures. Like I said, this isn't meant to be against this article, it is something that should be reported on, just the media in general and how they deal with murderers. I am happy that he got sentenced to life. He deserves it.

I had to sign in just to up vote this. I remember reading about it that morning, and just being appalled and in a state of disbelief. Horrible, horrible thing. I had plans to fly to my hometown that day, just to watch it in IMAX with my friends. I didn't let the shooting deter me. I remember talking with people who opted not to see it in theaters, out of fear that there would be a copycat shooting. I can't help but wonder, barring this travesty, how well this movie could've done at the box office.

Alright, this is OT as hell, but I have some dumb questions regarding Batman, just for fun. Here goes:
1. What does the Batmobile run on? If it runs on gas, where does Bruce get it from?
2. How does Bruce keep his strength up? I havent him eat much and whenever Alfred brings him a plate of food, he declines it as either a) he is busy working, or b) he is just about to go out on patrol.
3. How sexually frustrated is the Batman? He has no steady girlfriend (besides Selina, but thats complicated), and Bruce isnt the kind of guy who would have time for one night stands. Besides, whenever he brings a girl back to the manor, its always for the purpose of keeping up appearances.
Suspension of disbelief, I know...I know. But seriously, have any of these facets of his life been discussed in the comics so far?
