Batman and Superman grace the latest issue of Empire magazine

Empire magazine has just revealed their latest cover, and it features Ben Affleck's Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice! If you notice in the bottom right corner, it looks like a special Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent cover will be on the back of the magazine. The issue will go on sale this Thursday, so stay tuned to Batman News for whatever goodies await for us inside.

“There is just this gravitas to Batman,” director/producer/franchise oversees Zack Snyder stresses in Empire's cover feature. “He is operatic.” And Superman? " In this movie, everyone has split into different directions as to how they feel about this alien," explains Henry Cavill. "Some people love him, some hate him. Other people fear him. Is he a tyrant?"

Snyder also commented on the DC Extended Universe, saying “I want all the other directors of the other films to be able to stretch their legs and do what they want, but at the same time there is a big interconnected universe."

  Nope. Look at Batman again, it's not photoshop that's the problem. You can see he's a little larger than life, a little too large... It's because of the suits padding. They put the fake muscles in the suit to make him more intimidating that Superman, but they couldn't change Affleck's skeletal structure. Hence, when increasing muscle size, to keep it in proportion they increased the size of his traps, but his neck stayed the same length, so it looks like his neck has sunk into his shoulders.

You don't realize how massive Batfleck is until you see him next to Cavill's Superman. It's fucking awesome. Snyder obviously loves Batman and his reverence shows. This is the Batman we've waited to see on the big screen for so long. Zack Snyder is God.

        And so was Nolan, he took the ending from DKR, but his didn't make any sense. Why was Bruce faking his death? At least with Fury, there were logical reasons that he would want people to think him dead.
        And yes, coming back elsewhere is better. For one, it leaves the audience thinking the protagonist might actually be gone, and two, Coulson was actually dead. When he was revived, it wasn't for a cheap applause, there were consequences to it.

        Batman wanted to retire and chill. He did that in DKR. And it made sense. What of I see Avengers first and then watch Phase 1 movies knowing Loki returns? kinda ruins shit, doesn't it?

        What? We knew Loki survived the end of Thor, and Bruce didn't have to fake his death to retire. In the Dark Knight Returns, he did need to fake his death so the government would leave him alone.

        Thor's "death" wasn't a fake out, it was showing that Thor was now worthy of Mjolnir because he was willing to give up his life to save innocent lives. It wasn't about the shock, it was the final piece of the puzzle for the character's arc.

        1 - it's not their main hero
        2 - Marvel did it as well, doesn't mean DC using it makes it better
        3 - the one's you mentioned (other than Pepper) worked because they either didn't come back in the same film, or it worked for narrative reasons. Nothing changes if Bruce doesn't pretend he's dead. It's a cheap device in TDKR.

        1 - It's way worse when it's a main character, at least the side characters are more expendable. There's little chance of a main event player getting offed.
        2 - They did it better and different each time. Nolan just aped it from another story and what's worse, it made no sense. And Coulson didn't come back 20 minutes later. His death lead to something meaningful, and the after effects of coming back had ramifications.

        That's not what I'm talking about. The film is more than just that twist, which I agree wasn't good, but the battles at the end, the relationship between Rhodey and Tony was very enjoyable.
