Did Zack Snyder just confirm his son is Robin in 'Batman v Superman'? (photo)

on Did Zack Snyder just confirm his son is Robin in 'Batman v Superman'? (photo)

Yesterday it was reported that Zack Snyder's son will be playing Robin in a flashback scene in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The director wasted no time responding to the rumor, posting the photo above of he and his son Eli with the caption "Boy wonder?". Snyder posted the photo to his private Instagram account, but thankfully Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice photographer Clay Enos reposted it on his own account so the world could see it.

Is Snyder confirming the rumor, or having fun and laughing at the internet for being totally off here? For what it's worth Batman News heard that Robin would be played by "someone's son". At at the time, I was thinking it was Scott Eastwood. But then yesterday's Heroic Hollywood report came out about Eli Snyder and I had an "ah ha!" moment.

What do you make of Zack Snyder's Instagram post? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

I don't mind John Stewart in a GL Corps movie. I just don't want him to be GL in the JL movie. If The Flash is Barry, them GL has to be Hal. That's how the dynamics work.

That still has me chuckling.

Some of you are too young to remember or even realize the phone number we called back in the 80's when we got to call to decide if Robin lived or died. I thought Todd sucked and had fun calling and the vote was shocking at the end when we found out.

I don't usually get all fan-boyish, but I really hope he's playing Jason, not Dick. I don't think Dick has to be in it, I certainly don't think Red Hood should factor into later films (I think he should've always stayed dead), but I don't see the point in killing Dick off just because he's the most famous Robin in the mainstream.

It can be done in a split second, some exposition saying that he had two Robins; the first is doing his own thing, and the second died at the hands of the Joker. That's not so hard is it?

    1. imfakeonetwothree Avatar
      imfakeonetwothree

Dont worry about the dead Grayson rumour, it was debunked a long time ago. The gravestone was shopped, it was taken from the set where the Wayne funeral was filmed.

      1. TheTuckster Avatar
        TheTuckster

I hope you're right, and I did see this article that tried to debunk it: http://www.comicbookmovie.c...

However, Jett over at Batman on Film seems to think that it will be Dick who's dead, not Jason. I hope he's wrong.

        1. imfakeonetwothree Avatar
          imfakeonetwothree

I highly doubt it, mainly because it would serve no purpose to kill Dick off instead of Jason.

          1. TheTuckster Avatar
            TheTucksterreplying to imfakeonetwothree

Yeah, to me it's totally pointless to mess with that part of the canon. I believe Jett's reasoning is that as the general public only really know Dick, then it will have more emotional impact to learn that he's died.

I say that's rubbish. It's up the the actors to convey the emotional impact it's had on them (Irons and Affleck), and I'm sure they'll do a fine job.

          2. imfakeonetwothree Avatar
            imfakeonetwothreereplying to TheTuckster

Most people dont even know that there was more than one Robin, so I dont think people will even realise that the Robin who died was the second one after Dick. Furthermore, the people who know enough about Dick to be emotionally attached to his character also know that Jason was the one who died.

I feel killing Dick off is wasting so much potential. Jason not so much. Seeing URH in live action would be nice and all, but we've seen it adapted in animated and video game form already.
