The new 'Suicide Squad' movie logo is a big departure from the comics

Last month at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, Warner Bros. showed off a logo for Suicide Squad that stayed true to the one in the comics. This past weekend at Comic-Con, a brand new logo for the movie was revealed at the end of the Suicide Squad trailer.

The new logo bares no resemblance to the previous version, or any version really. It's a fresh new take and I think it will work well on a movie that's a fresh take on the superhero genre. As David Ayer stated at Comic-Con, "all this good vs. evil shit is kind of played out right now. It's time for bad vs. evil right? It's time for a movie about bad guys!".

So which Suicide Squad movie logo do you prefer? The new logo above, or the old logo below?

I will say though, it's still retains the bold character of the classic font - it's just not bullet-ridden, and lacks those couple of red letters. I actually like it more compact, but I probably would've kept the red lettering and bullet holes.

the neat design in the Q would be better than just a couple of crosshairs and bullet-holes found in the original. Plus crosshairs suggest that this is Deadshot's film, when in reality the movie focuses on a GROUP of villains

    Thanks. I'm looking for quality of that BvS trailer that someone posted here. It was almost 300MB which is a lot for 3:40min trailer. I was hoping there is something similar. But thanks again, this will be more than enough.

They seriously shouldn't, with the intense focus on the psychological dimensions of the characters demonstrated by the trailer.
I wouldn't mind some bullet holes in the new one, though.

People who don't like the tattoos, it's very clear at least once he's out of Arkham he'll be putting on a crapload of white makeup which will probably cover them. That's MUCH more white than his usual, already somewhat bleached/pale face in this shot. Plus, do I see a purple coat?
Also, is that Jim Parrack's character in front of him? Fairly solid Johnny Frost rumours?

  It's strange, its my first time watching someone review a trailer. Sounds ridiculous to me, almost like this person who makes it seem like she can pass judgement on the entire film with only a few minutes of footage. First and last time I do this.

  This also reminds me of another blog that's mostly about celebrity gossip, but they do talk about movies. The one person they have on their blog to talk about comics is such a Marveltard it's ridiculous. She even calls BvS Superhero Face Punch. She's called it that since last year and still insists on calling it that even now with two trailers out.
  Like, WTF Lady. I'm not linking to the blog because I don't want to give them those clicks but there are seriously stupid people out there.

Definitely has a hell of a lot more makeup on in this shot, but at the same time I think he's got the natural bleach/red lips.

    We know it's there at some point, I think it'll be on the right but it certainly looks absent on the right (and with skin that white obviously makeup I don't see how it could anyway). I really don't mind it anymore, seems like the perfect way of laughing at the world and just taunting Batman with it.
    I could almost have seen him killing 100 people, pleading insane and then getting it just to laugh at the world as if it's an excuse.

  Cool observation. In the Arkham shot he is pale, but he is not abnormally pale. While the picture on the left makes him look like as white as snow.

I like the new one a lot more. The old one wasn't "weird" enough for this movie after seeing the trailer. I cannot freaking wait for this movie.

    Admittedly that's a bigger controversy than anything Suicide Squad would ever face lol, but it just goes to show what it could do for a movie. I'm curious to how much money The Interview would have made if it went to theaters. Well anyways, the controversy surrounding Suicide Squad would only make people curious about this movie.

  It will be fine...I think we still have very little to go off of. I know it's early but I have a feeling that the Harley Quinn character is going to explode after this movie. They've certainly made her to look more like a tragic character than anything that's ever come before. I have faith that DC is not going to mess up the chance to show her as an empowered female character. She's going to be a survivor in my opinion. Will she take a lot of sh!t from Joker? Yes. But she's going to be his equal in a lot of ways and I think she will be a strong female character when it's all said and done.

Fine with either logo. Based on the footage we all saw the logo won't really matter anyways, the performances will leave the viewers wanting more from DCEU! 2016 let's hurry up and get here!
