Set prior to the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batgirl: A Matter of Family will allow players to take on the role of Batgirl for the first time in the Batman: Arkham franchise.
Batgirl: A Matter of Family will be available July 14 for fans who have purchased the Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass and are connected to the Internet, or it can be purchased separately on July 21 for $6.99 on the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE online entertainment network from Microsoft.

So happy to see the classic Harley look in an Arkham game at last.
Looks awesome. People acting like having Tim as Robin is the end of the world because of a tiny continuity error which game about from outside the games themselves in the comics, which have been overridden before. Get over yourselves, people, it's not a big deal.

In the comics, Barbara was shot and crippled AFTER Jason's death. If they wanted to use Robin, they'd have to make a small change from the comics anyway, either crippling her sooner or making Tim become Robin a little sooner. They took the second route and it's perfectly fine, as it keeps her interactions as Batgirl to the rest of the family.

Dear Rocksteady, putting out DLC for your game before you fix the critically broken PC version is ridiculous. Get your priorities straight. oh wait, you have your priorities in order obviously... more money.
Sefton Hill has addressed this several times. The team working on this DLC is NOT the team working on mending the PC version, which is their number one priority.
Do we expect them to stop ALL DLC, even for consumers on the two (most sold and popular) platforms who have perfectly working games and in many cases have purchased the right to early and consistent content over six months so that a different team can put out a PC fix first at the expense of the consoles, which in the long run won't be any quicker with or without the DLC and thus just hampers ALL consumers?

Oh God enough of this shit. This DLC is not even being made by Rocksteady, and it was obviously already planned to be released on a certain date before the main game came out. The PC version has nothing to do with this. Don't punish those of us who were smart enough to buy it for console.

Been wanting to play as Batgirl for years, so I can't wait for this. I'm glad that it's going to be considerably more substantial than the disappointing Harley Quinn DLC (which is free, so I can't really complain).
Let's hope other characters get given similar treatment. A proper Catwoman story would be awesome.
Just like the main game campaign, gameplay will be great but the storyline will be mediocre. WB really needed Paul Dini to write for this so that Rocksteady could have focus on not having car stealth.
This is developed by WB Montreal though who did Origins and Cold, Cold Heart. Say what you will about the technical problems with Origins but the story was amazing! I hated the Arkham Knight story but I'm thinking this DLC will be great... especially because there is no Nationale gameplay and hopefully no drones. This should be more in line with Arkham Asylum style of gameplay!
For you Origins was good for me it was lackluster also. I could have have done without the "Black Mask is the villain NO it's The Joker" bit and for gameplay only thing favorable for Origins was the Deathstroke boss fight. Since Arkham City this series has went stealth crazy. I like the predator rooms but I also want a one on one fight with a darn boss that doesn't involve 50 henchmen jumping in.
I'd agree with that. I was really excited for a lesser known villain take the spotlight. I would have preferred Black Mask being the main villain throughout the game. I liked all of Origins boss fights. Deathstroke's was by far the best though. Origins treats Bane excellently though, the Copperhead boss fight was pretty decent.
I think the Arkham Knight story is the worst of the series though... probably mostly because they chose not to have Paul Dini back as the writer. I hate how the whole game is based around the Batmobile drone battles. AK seriously lacked quality boss fights, the villains weren't given anything interesting to do other than petty crimes, the Arkham Knight character was pretty uninspired, and once again we get a story all about the Joker!
I get people love the Joker, I do too, but there are other great villains to highlight!
Yes, Harley Quinn had no voice truthfully. Paul Dini really knows how to write for her. As for the Arkham Knight I would have went with anybody but Jason Todd. One of my creative thoughts was to instead have the Arkham Knight as Jayson Young, the widowed husband of Dr. Penelope Young and a ex-Special Ranger. His anger would have been explained as he is upset that Batman never killed the Joker and thus the Joker killed his wife and their unborn child. This way two years of studying every maneuver of Batman and taking Hugo Strange's notes on Batman it would explain the military like tactics and knowing a lot of Batman's maneuvers. As for the turning into Joker bit I would have on done without that and just had Scarecrow's gas makes Batman think he is losing control and turning into the Joker.
People called the Jason Todd twist like six months before it was even released , but Rocksteady was like NO ! It's an ORIGINAL character !!!
LOL, everyone was calling it. Them saying Arkham Knight is an original character is like Eric Holmes constantly saying "We are standing on the shoulders of giants".
That would have been pretty interesting. Yeah that whole storyline of the infected Joker blood really went nowhere. Didn't Batman cure himself already of the Joker blood in City anyway? ...in the Lazarus Pit? They never even explain in Arkham Knight how Batman overcomes the whole infected blood thing anyway. He gets injected with the fear toxin and stops the Scarecrow... but what about the infected blood? Does he just will it away by the power of Batman?

Supposedly, the cure from Arkham City only stopped the effects of titan on Joker's blood. But Joker's blood was still in them and it started to evolve (because of his initial acid bath) and gave them the genetic traits of Joker and weird characteristics? As for the ending in Arkham Knight yeah Batman wills away the infection and the fear toxin.
Gotcha. I don't know. The ending just seems like lazy story telling.
It was. That is why I think they postponed the game initially to give them time to work on the DLC and make sure this would soothe us over if we didn't like the ending. I would have just like to see Paul Dini's ending to this trilogy instead of people who are novice creative writers.
They used Joker for marketing reasons.
Yea I could have done without that much Batmobile. It was fun at first but then it just got redundant. And the ending was good (pre Knightfall) the story was good although Arkham Knight was barely doing the damage. It was pretty much all Scarecrow. I expected more of AK. The actual ending was ok
Right, the evening the odds and Ace Chemicals was fine but when it was used for all the riddler trials and Fighting the drones it was way over the top. I really wanted to fight Arkham Knight one on one. Yeah, Todd would have lost even easier but it would have been better cinematic experience then taking him on in six straight predator challenges (I count the Cloudburst battle, excavator battle, and the four predator rooms). Then, if you played the Scarecrow Nightmare missions those should have been the boss battles for Scarecrow (minus the Batmobile of course). I also felt like John Noble deserved some better writing for his try with Scarecrow.
Scarecrow as annoying as hell with his stupid speeches. I was so happy when one of the soldiers said "Will somebody tell Scarecrow to shut up?"
The Easter eggs were cool too.

Are Barbara and Tim in love in this? Alfred seemed very concerned about how he will react to her death when shouldn't he saying that about Nightwing? You could have had Tim taking down Penguin and Nightwing in the story so there must have been a reason they changed it. And at the end of the game, Tim and Barbara look very happy and he texts Gordon "Don't forget the ring".

The first DLC is $6.99? Really glad I didn't spend $40 on the season pass at this point, I feel like their just going to pad that price as being a value with character skins instead of gameplay content. Looking forward to this though.
I am so stoked for this, looks awesome. I've been wanting to play as Babs since the first game. I'm wondering if we'll see her get paralyzed by the Joker in this one. Definitely getting some Killing Joke vibes from this.

I'll wait and see how long it is before buying it. If it's like the Harley or Red Hood DLC it definitely ain't worth 7 dollars. That is all takes place in only one area doesn't give me much hope.
SPOILER ALERT: Where the hell did the Tim Drake/Barbara Gordon romance come from?! Usually I'm cool with deviations from the source material, but c'mon! It's Babs and Dick or Babs and Bruce, because Bruce Wayne's a BAD@$$. And that ending?! WTF?! I'll take The Dark Knight Rises ending over the Arkham Knight ending. LOL
Yea that came out of nowhere they should have switched Nightwing and Robin's roles in the game. Barbara and Tim seems 😷 and the Bruce and Barbara relationship was awful. Bruce was always a douche but having sex with Barbara (his adopted son's girlfriend) and getting her pregnant was the douchest thing he ever did. After that I'm glad Nightwing beat the shit out of him. For me Barbara should always be with Dick.
It wasn't Bruce's fault that he was SO awesome, that Babs couldn't help herself. And perhaps Bruce was teaching Dick a lesson. If you don't take care of your woman, somebody else will. LOL

Arkham Knight's ending stems more from The Dark Knight Returns instead of Rises. As for the Tim/Babs romance, honestly I don't care anymore. Dick is...well, he lives up to his name. He can't choose between Starfire and Barbara so he just screws both of them over. Babs and Bruce is, honestly, a little on the creepy side.

The Tim/Babs relationship just seemed random and unnecessary to me. But the older Tim Drake Arkham design never really felt like Tim Drake to me, anyway. And a dude in his late thirties, hooking up with a chick in her early twenties, is NOT creepy. LOL
It would be dope if we can play her in the AK open world and let her drive around in the motorcycle
This needs to happen. Batgirl's one of my favorite comic book characters and as awesome as AK's flight and Batmobile mechanics are, this would be dope. The story for this dlc looks good as well.

This Batgirl trailer is PERFECT! The look of Batgirl, the costume, the strength of her, just everything about this is stunning. I wish this was a trailer for a Batgirl movie or new Batman movie with Batgirl. This is how I have always seen Batgirl and Rocksteady got it perfect. I totally loved Gail Simones Batgirl comic series but sadly that ended and now we r stuck with immature baby Batgirl Of Burnside. But this Batgirl in Arkham Knight is outstanding and we need to see more of her . A strong mature and awesome female hero for everyone male or female can look up to!
Wow, hyped! However, why the hell is Tim Drake there? Shouldn't that be Dick or Jason? I think they wanted to tell the love story between babs and tim so bad they forgot that Tim shouldn't be around at this time. Still f*cking hyped though, classic Harley!!!!!
