Warner Bros. suspends sales of 'Batman: Arkham Knight' for PC due to quality issues

Batman: Arkham Knight was released on Tuesday to rave reviews about the Xbox One and PS4 versions, but the PC version tells a different story. PC games have been experiencing nothing but headaches since the game's launch due to bugs, glitches, and performance issues.

The PC version of the game was developed by IronGalaxy, and WB Games and Rocksteady have jumped in to try to help resolve the issues as quickly as possible. Since they've been unsuccessful in making the game playable for PC gamers, Warner Bros. has decided to suspend PC sales of Batman: Arkham Knight. They made the announcement last night on their official forums:

Dear Batman: Arkham Knight PC owners,
We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards. We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall.
Thank you to those players who have already given valuable feedback. We are continuously monitoring all threads posted in the Official Batman: Arkham Knight Community and Steam forums, as well as any issues logged with our Customer Support (support.wbgames.com). If you purchased your copy of the game and are not satisfied with your experience, then we ask for your patience while these issues are resolved. If desired, you can request a refund at help.steampowered.com (Steam refund policies can be found here: http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds) or the retail location where you purchased the game.

-- The "master race" minority logic I'm seeing (by that I mean the nasty, always bitter group, not PC gamers on whole). Yes, it was unacceptable it was released like this but at least WB and Rocksteady are actually fixing it. People need to just let this happen and let them solve it in the best possible way without contradicting their complaints from a day before.

Haha I guess so. I feel really bad for those PC gamers experiencing issues but to the ones who said I was a "console peasant" and they were the "master race"- well, I'll enjoy my flawless game while they lag on haha.

I wouldn't go to insult Rocksteady but the fans who were complaining about "bugs" on Arkham Origins just because it wasn't made by Rocksteady. And now that it is made by Rocksteady AND that is HAS bugs, just want to see their face.
BTW, nearly finished Arkham Knight and I love it (bugs apart), but I like Origins' story more.

  I thought it was meh. I'm finishing all the side missions now, I need to find all riddler trophies then I can go and savage mutilate his anus. I felt like, when playing the game, I knew how it was going to end from the start. I mean, I get they wanted to keep the AK a secret, but why constantly go on about his identity...

    While I'm not really a "PC master race" kind of guy, this proves nothing in relation to PC gaming being bad, just that the port was terrible, not PC gaming its self. Complaining about the PC master race and being happy most of them got a broken version of a great game for $60 makes you just as bad as them.

      I paid £38. They're normally £50 on consoles, it was £39.99 for PC AFAIK. Oh, and there's plenty of games that don't play too well on PC, GTA 4, how long did 5 take to come out again?

This game is unplayable on PC and I have lost a lot of faith in both Rocksteady and WB for this botch.

It should restore some faith the lengths they're going to to fix this. Bear in mind Rocksteady were not the ones who ported this to PC.

I had similar issues with BF4 on Xbox One, and they took their damn sweet time fixing it. However, eventually the game got awesome.

I got this game on PC and I will admit that it was hard at first but NVIDIA sent out a driver that helped a lot. Also uncapping the Framerate helps too. I still have a few moments of shuttering here and there but I also have everything maxed out. It isn't unplayable. I know for everyone it is different but I do hope they fix it soon. This may be part of the reason the game was delayed. It is an amazing game. I have faith that Rocksteady will work this out soon. They have never wronged us and this was their first mess up. I think we need to cut them some slack. It happens. They will fix it. It isn't all just them.

Playing on low details with rig meeting only minimum requirements. No issues encountered so far. Except Riddler trophies finished almost everything. GOTY for me.

Probably not. PC will probably just get whatever DLC that's been released so far all at once the game finally gets released again. That's how Rockstar did it for GTA 5 for example.

  But we can still play this game. They just don't sell it to new customers right now. And who knows when this update will be released... I don't want to wait for DLCs six months. I already have Season Pass in my steam account and I don't have any problems with game itself.

    There's a possibility of that happening, but again you'll probably get whatever DLC has been released once things are up and running. They're not gonna delay everything because there's still 2 other platforms that the game is running pretty much perfectly on.

Agree with you. I feel like there's a good reason they're all ported to PC. I own Origins, Asylum and City on PC because they were cheap and even with a controller they don't feel like I'm getting the experience they were designed for. Same goes for Assassins Creed, etc.

This game is awesome! I can't stop playing it! My only issue is the Batmobile. It's fun but I would prefer less Batmobile. And those Riddler challenges with the Batmobile are so freaking annoying. Those stupid Batmobile tank missions are innumerable. Other than that, the game is perfect

I was talking my neighbor last night about Arkham Knight. I was saying how awesome it looked, how the reviews have been really good, and how everyone I've talked to loves playing it.

He said he heard it was a terrible game and how all of his friends hated it and wanted their money back.

We debated for a while, before we realized I was talking about the console version and he was talking about the PC version.

  I don't think the batmobile itself is bad, it's just forced on the player in every single mission to go through these tight corridors and short city blocks that make the boost useless.

    I dislike it in general, it looks cool and all, but it isn't very good for control reasons, personally.

    I've now completed the game 100%, all side missions/riddlertrophies/storymode, and I have to say, the Batmobile ruined the game for me, there was no good boss fight, and most boss fights were focused on sneaking up behind tanks in your Batmobile, and one shotting them.

      Mind me asking why you went for a 100 percent? I saw the end online decided it totally wasn't worth it.
      Thankfully, the Batmobile really grew on the me, but I still think it was forced was too much on the player in some missions. Like the riddler missions that are unbelievably huge facilities that would have cost billions to produce and a ton of manpower just to show Batman isn't smart?

      I just wanted 100% game completion, it's something I never have the energy or concentration to do, so I just wanted to get it done. The Riddler final battle was sooooooooooooooooooooo bad too, you'd think after forcing you to get 243 trophies/breakables/riddles it would be a huge fight, but it's not :(

So the game is more than playable on my PC, but my set up should be able to run highest settings possible, with no stuttering at 60 fps. Even without removing the 30 fps cap (something I opted not to do as I don't really care all that much about it and I've heard going in and messing with it caused more problems than it did solve), I still get stutters on high settings and am forced to play on normal (or low during some batmobile scenes) despite my PC being more than capable of running higher settings. That said I've experienced basically no problem beyond that. My game starts up fine, I've only had one crash, and everything else runs great, at least compared to some of the stories in the steam reviews and other forums. I'm really curious how they're gonna patch this as some people have no to minimal issues while others (on a perfectly capable PC) can't even get the game to start, seems like the problems are numerous and varied, gonna be a tough fix.

I play it on PC, only because I'm not buying a One or a PS4 (don't have the money).

Having said that, I don't think this is really that surprising. On my computer, it works... Ok. Some lag, but it's not as bad as Origins was on my 360 pre-patch.

Maybe PC consoles are the only ones working correctly and scarecrow is creating the worst fear for PC , glitches and bugs galore

I play it on PC, only because I'm not buying a One or a PS4 (don't have the money).
Having said that, I don't think this is really that surprising. On my computer, it works... Ok. Some lag, but it's not as bad as Origins was on my 360 pre-patch.
