'San Andreas' star Carla Gugino wants to play another DC Comics character (video)

San Andreas star Carla Gugino is no stranger to comic book roles. She appeared in Frank Miller's Sin City, Zack Snyder's Watchmen, and even Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch, which was heavily influenced by graphic novels. She even had a role in Man of Steel as the voice of Kelor, a service robot on Krypton.

Given her great friendship with Zack Snyder, Digital Spy asked Gugino if she'd like a role in the huge DC movie universe that he's helping Warner Bros. launch. Gugino explained that she'd do any movie with Snyder and that she loves the comic book world. "DC needs to be next on my list," she explained. Check out the full interview below.

I was literally having a conversation with someone online about this last night, we agreed that she would make an awesome Catwoman because she is close to Ben Affleck's age! I wanted Eva Green but she is too young for Affleck's Batman. What are your guys thoughts about this?

        Eva Green looks insane and doesn't resemble Catwoman. She'd fit a villain like Circe, for example.

  She could be perfect but in the next 5 years imagine how much older she would be and look...And standing next to Ben Affleck she would look really short. Catwoman should be a bit taller and an actress in her 30s. I don't think Eva Green is too young she just may be too exotic of a Catwoman...I just don't know! I think about Catwoman in new DC universe and it drives me crazy how bad I want her in..I wish Angelina Jolie wasn't so much smaller now..

    Well if Ben Affleck is supposed to be an older Bruce Wayne, Catwoman should look about the same or even older. Catwoman is older than him, no?

      But they are just adding grey hair to Ben Affleck, she may need a little more hollywood magic. She is beautiful but I guess the age is dependent on whoever is writing. In the Dark Knight returns she was old and out of shape..maybe they could go that direction because Carla is a sexy older woman. As long as we see her put on the leather suit and diamond/steel claws to fight some of these monsters in this new universe...

  Catwoman and Batman are not of the same age, in current comics Batman is in his early 30s while Catwoman is 25

    Wow guys, seriously?! The age differences between characters in the comics could not matter any LESS. It's not even worth debating. The movie people don't give a crap. As long the actress is over 18, she can play Catwoman. LOL

  I feel like yeah. She can do Catwoman. She's the same age as affleck nearly, and with some established history sure I can see it. But Catwoman is a youthful character usually jumping around and doing stunts so a fourty year old woman doing parkour thief seems a little weird. To me, they would have to go for another version of selina, and not the pathetic one from Dark Knight Returns. Maybe more of a villain turn and make her a seasoned and hardened crime boss or con artist not unlike the current Catwoman run or somewhere inbetween like Eartha Kitt.

She voiced Kelor to perfection in Man of Steel.
I'd love her to come back in the flesh. Oddly I don't quite see her in the Selina Kyle role.
I want my Catwoman taller and more sultry-looking.
Perhaps Vicki Vale (the take-no-shit version) ? Though she's no redhead :)

She's a good actress and looks great for her age but when she stands next to Ben Affleck she looks kinda old, so maybe some other role like Hippolyta or some other supporting character.

I think Carla would be fine as Hippolyta but personally I think that role should be saved for someone like Lucy Lawless. Who better to be the Amazonian queen than Xena the Warrior Princess!

  I completely agree! They need a mature exotic woman, tall with some color to her. She looks like she could be Gal Gadot's mom and she has that accent going for her...But aren't thee some versions of Hippolyta as a blonde?

I think they should save Lynda carter for the role of either Hera or Athena because the woman is a goddess. Get Lucy Lawless to play Hippolyta and then you'd have the warrior princess trio!
