Last night I received some interesting Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice news. Since I'm not comfortable leaking official material, I decided to just tweet about it.

  My gut feeling is that she won't wear the cape in battle; it'll be a "special event" piece, part of a "dress uniform," similar to the way Lynda Carter's Diana wore hers on the old TV show. Note the skirt as well in this photo, although I doubt Gal will have one.

Alright so I decided to check out Age of Ultron in case it
had some important connections to Civil War, which I’m looking forward to. Here
is my review.
LONG SPOILER-filled review, so stop reading if you have not seen
the movie or do not like reading, but a “too long to read” spoiler-less version is
at the end of this comment. Scroll down to check it out if you have not seen
the movie or don’t want to read the whole thing. You have been warned!
Let’s start with the positives:
1. Scarlet Witch: Joss Whedon did a magnificent job
handling this character. Her character was written pretty well and she actually
had a great role in the movie. She was great in this film and I really hope she
is in Civil War.
2. The Vision: Another character that was perfectly
handled. Joss Whedon was able to bring this character to life in the best way
possible. He has an extremely cheesy suit but Joss found a way to make him look
badass. He would have been my favorite hero in the movie but honestly, Scarlet
Witch was my personal favorite.
3. The Infinity Stones: The overall plan regarding
the Infinity Stones finally begins to make its way to the MCU. Obviously we knew
what the end game was, but characters didn’t. They still don’t, but now they
know someone is pulling some strings (no pun intended). Also, I said it a million times; Loki’s
scepter is the Mind Stone, finally we can put that doubt to rest.
4. Thor: I am still a bit unhappy with this
character. Don’t get me wrong, Chris is awesome as Thor, but I don’t like how Marvel
has handled the character. This movie does the character some justice though.
Not enough to repair the damage they have done in my opinion, but Thor was
great in this. I’ve wanted a MIGHTY Thor since the first movie was announced. I
was very disappointed. They reduced him to a third tier character whose command
presence doesn’t even come close to Black Widow’s. In this movie, I finally saw
the God of Thunder. They still need to improve his character, but they have
taken the correct steps in this movie. Hopefully Ragnarok continues this. Thor
is my favorite Marvel character alongside Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), I
really want to see that badass God of Thunder I love.
5. The relationship between The Avengers: It feels natural and it’s great. This is
something I liked from the first film as well. I may not have been a big fan of
the first Avengers movie, but I always liked how Whedon handled the character
interaction.
Let’s go to the negatives now. I know I had a lot of good
points about the movie, and trust me, they were great. Sadly though, the
negatives are much more impactful. They are exactly why I wasn’t looking
forward to this film. Let me go over them:
1. The comedy: One thing I detested about the first
movie, was the amount of jokes and cheese it had. It takes me out of the movie.
Especially in the last act of the first movie. There is an alien invasion and
they are all joking around like it’s nothing? Don’t get me wrong, Joss dealt
with the comedy much better during the last act in this movie than the first
one. Look I know that this is Marvel. I like DC’s grittier take but that doesn’t
mean I want Marvel to change, just moderate. One of the reasons I liked Winter
Soldier is because the directors knew when to throw in some comedy. When the
climax hit, they got down to business. That’s how it should be. Sure, they
threw in a couple of lines here and there but Whedon just exaggerates. This
movie is no different. Every single scene can’t be taken seriously because of
it. It doesn’t allow the movie to flow naturally which led to some pacing
issues.
2. Ultron: Man, they had so much potential. All
they did was give DC the way to make a much better AI villain (Braniac). I wasn’t
a huge fan of the trailers but the one thing I loved in every trailer was
Ultron’s menacing presence. Well, that’s gone. Poof. Straight out the window.
They turned him into a complete joke. He was just terrible. I was looking
forward to Ultron so much and they blew it. Like I said, I know Marvel likes injecting
their films with comedy by why Marvel? Why overdue it? Why the need to make the
majority of your characters into complete jokes? I’m not being biased here. If
DC makes The Flash dark and gritty, I will have the same criticisms for them.
Both companies should know when to make a character serious, and when not to.
Ultron should have been serious. They messed up big time.
3. Hulk vs Iron Man: This one is somewhat of a nit-pick
but I’ll add it. Not really a negative. Just a personal nit-pick. I was really excited about this fight, but I
was let down when I found out it was a mind controlled Hulk vs Iron Man. I
really wanted an angry Hulk vs Iron Man fight. The fight itself was great but I
think they missed an opportunity here. This could have set up Planet Hulk if
they ever want to make that film.
4. Civil War: The only reason I decided to go check
this movie out was because I thought they would have a nice set up to Civil
War. They had conflict in the movie but nothing that really stood out. At the
end, Iron Man and Captain America are practically dating. I would have liked to
have seen some tension between the characters at the end. Yea, I know Captain
America created his New Avengers but I still felt disappointed.
5. Quicksilver: I may not agree with “the need to
kill someone” thing, but I saw it coming a mile away. However, I did not mind
it. I think the death was handled well. My complaint is about the character.
Bad Russian accent aside, Quicksilver didn’t really have any use in this movie.
His death would have been much more meaningful if he had made a difference in
the movie. He didn’t steal any scenes, he didn’t impress me at all and well, he
didn’t really do anything besides save the kid and Hawkeye. Fox’s Quicksilver
was in fewer scenes and I felt like his death would have been much more impactful
if he had died in Days of Future Past.
Final thoughts/TLTR: The movie wasn’t bad. It’s a good movie
to go check out as your typical “summer blockbuster” type of film. Nothing that
will blow your mind away though. Couple of pacing issues but nothing serious. I
would have rated it a bit higher but once again, the amount of comedy that
Whedon injected into this film and Ultron just killed it for me once again. I
wasn’t as disappointed nor did I dislike this film as much as the first one
because I wasn’t expecting much of this film. I was expecting a lot from the
first movie though, which in turn led to a major disappointment for me
personally. Glad the Russo Brothers are taking over.
Final Verdict: 6.8/10

  You liked it more than I did. I had the relationships between the Avengers & Thor's stuff in the negative as well. The only relationship between 2 Avengers I liked was Hawkeye & Scarlet Witch in the motivation scene.

  So much yes in this one comment. Really disappointed about the lack of set up for a particularly angry man and his particular solo film (trying not to spoil for scrollers), and Quicksilver, and etc. I told my friend I left feeling particularly (this word geez) underwhelmed based primarily on the film's ending and anyone whose seen it can agree I'm sure.

  Wow I rated it a. 6/10 but I would add to the good list Hawkeye because of that scene where that person said "they need you to keep them on Earth" or something like that but add to the bad list originality. Lots of originality. Like almost all other MCU movies, this movie was soulless. Also, I pretty much saw the entire movie with all the teasers and trailers not to mention tv spots and featurettes. I really thought it was ok at best.

    Yea, I wasn't a huge fan of it. The story was weak, the villain was horrible and the one liners were awful. However, I just loved the way he handled Vision and Scarlet Witch. You know what? He handled Hawkeye very well too. Other than that though, it had pacing issues. It didn't flow naturally. Like you said, the movie was just okay to me as well. I rated it a bit higher than you but it's not like I loved the movie. It was just a good popcorn flick.

    Chris created a website so fans can come and talk about whatever they please. Also, if you actually read my review, you can see that I did not like the movie overall. Also, if you scroll up a bit, you can see I made a separate comment about the actual Wonder Woman post.
    I would also like to add that I am a DC fan and everyone here knows this. I am extremely disappointed with the MCU, but this, what you are doing.. you embarrass me.
    The reason I love this community is because the vast majority of us here aren't trolls like a lot of MCU fanboys, don't embarrass us DC fans with your childish comments. If someone comes here and starts talking about Marvel, as long as they aren't bashing DC, then who cares? Don't like it? Keep scrolling. With that childish attitude? It's you who needs to grow up.

  Completely agree. Ultron was WEAK. He talks way too much. He didn't even win a single fight. His robot army was WEAK too. He didn't have that menacing presence. He should have been like Agent Smith in the Matrix. Completely indestructible that puts viewers on the edge of the seat, but nope.

  Yea, don't get me wrong.. I appreciate humor! Like I said, I don't want Marvel to change but some of their movies exaggerate a little bit in my opinion. Winter Soldier did a very good job at integrating humor. I also felt bad for Quicksilver though. Captain America continues to be the character they portray the best. In every single one of his movie they have been able to capture everything we like about the character. Glad you enjoyed my review!

This woman annoys me. She's just an opinionated hater at times. An article with little verification, with little understanding. We know Zak Snyder is linked to the DCU, even as a producer/executive producer. He's the father of MoS, BvS, JL Pt1 & Pt2. I think WB/DC are answering to someone or at least has a rank system. I see Zak Snyder and whoever he has on his team, being the guy who is managing the outline and idea for the universe with a WB producer/boss, overseeing it with him.

When the first pics for the Batmobile were released, some theorized including myself that the new Batmobile could transform into the Batwing, I am sure those shots in the trailer are completely different scenes. Do any of you think this is possible still? Do any of you see samilar similarities?

        I'd like at some point during the fight, right when Bruce is getting Clark angry therefore giving him the edge the less he pulls his punches, Bruce says something like "what are you gonna do, snap my neck?" and using Clark's guilt against him

        Firstly he stopped killing long before the comics code. I thought this myth had died years ago.
        Secondly bats only killed as a last resort, accidentally, or have people a fifty/fifty chance. He would not just fly by and blow up some goons when he likely could just land or escape or shoot non lethal rounds. Golden age batman did kill with machine gun on a plane once but he hated himself and it was a last resort and even then he questioned it.

        I didn't say the Comics Code was the reason he stopped, though I didn't know when he did soften up so I said before the Comics Code. My fault for not being clear, but I wasn't alive then nor have I read any from the time.
        Those still count as killing people. From things I've seen he's flown the Batwing with a noose to pick up and fly off with a criminal dying from it. He kicked a dude with his head out a window, breaking his neck. He used guns, both in Batwing (as you've mentioned) and on foot.

        I never said those where not kills. All I'm talking about is that even golden age batman would not just swoop down like that and blow up cars when there seems to be other ways. Also like I said he hated killing the guys in the car and only did it as a last resort. He only shot vampires with a hand gun and guess what modern day Bruce kills vampires even more non chalontaly then golden age Bruce (he gave one of them a chance and tried to conventionally defeat the monk) so don't use that as an example of cold blooded murder on fist sight. Also the guy who was looking out the window was an accident and he gave him several chances so that's far from blowing up the living shit out of cars when you have alternatives. Also the noise thing is not at all what people say it is. They where monster men not thugs. Moder Bruce kills para daemons like they are nothing so the monster men who where escapees that strange firced into undergoing a process to make them monsters and made them loose all brain function permanently other than obedience to strange and only strange is not to different. Plus he tried as hard as possible to save them. Heck he made an excuse and seemed sadden by it. Also he was injected with the drug and found a cure yet despite his attempts he was unable to find a cure for even helping them regain coincidences. He tried to save them and even once he roved that they could not be saved he was bothered by killing them. Plus he said he only did it cause once the monster men are let loose in the city they can't be stopped without accidentally hurting people if there even was a way to beat them when in such a closed in place.
        I'm not saying he never killed, I'm just saying that if this batwing is piloted by Bruce then its to brutal and non chalont even for the Bruce that killed. I doubt this is Bruce flying it but still im just saying that the golden age argument does not work when there are alternatives. There where not rubber bullets or concussion detonators back then.

        I never knew the context for all those things beyond the images given in articles written up about them. In context in seems less cruel, but hey could what we see in the trailer be similarly out of context if that is indeed Batman?
        I don't think it is him, but we don't really have the context for it much like I didn't for those incidents.

        My guess is that he is in the plane and its being controlled by lex. Maybe he has the car attached or something and drops down in the car leading to the shot from the trailer. Maybe those are separate scenes but who knows.

        I agree, I think most of us are on the it's Lex controlling it train. It's hard when the teaser is meant to have us questioning what's going on.

That cape looks amazing. I can't wait to see the trinity all standing next to each other, each with their distinctive, unique, majestic cape, I can't take much more!
