Last night Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice composer Junkie XL revealed that he and Hans Zimmer will be watching the movie for the first time today.

Just moments ago, Junkie XL shared a behind-the-scenes photo of a scoring session. I thought this was from Batman v Superman, but Junkie XL let me know it's from Mad Max: Fury Road.

That's quite the setup!

Last week Junkie XL announced that he and Zimmer were working on music for the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice teaser that is scheduled to come out next month.

        Agreed, assuming Fury Road does well enough to warrant sequels (which I suspect it will). I still think Hardy is ideal for Constantine. By the time Guillermo del Toro actually gets around to JL Dark, Hardy will probably be free from Mad Max.

        Well Del Toro is the brains behind JLD movie and Hunnam shares a close relation with him, and he also looks the part and has the chops, so there are chances for Hunnam to bring Constantine to life in big screen format.

        Nothing has been green lit yet. Hardy and Miller are contractually attached to three more Mad Max projects, but WB won't make any commitments or decisions until they see how Fury Road does at the box office. If Fury Road flops, WB can scrap any future plans they may have.

  Yeah, it is. I'd understand the lack of sound FX, etc., but I would think they would get to see the special FX in place to help with the feel/emotions in the film, or to get the whole picture, but whatever.

    Not all the SFX will be done but the majority will be thats where the focus will be for the remainder of post, SFX & sound.

      No, none at all. It is a peculiar way, in general, to go about putting a film together. And I'm saying that as a film student. Though I've heard some composers come up with a score before seeing a single frame of footage. Which is even weirder I guess.

        Im a Post Production student, composing music after the edit is relatively standard procedure. The editor is always the first to do his job.

        I guess some are just able to come up with material after what I would assume to be some fairly thorough talks with the director in able for them to just plug pre-conveived music into a film without having seen any of it, visually.

        I think what happened was Nolan sent Zimmer a 1 page description (front & back) of the story and let him compose the music from there.
        I might be wrong you'll have to look it up, can't remember where I read it.

Who wants to see DC Animation make a Martian Manhunter centric Justice League movie?
They probably wouldn't have Manhunter's name in the title, because they don't have confidence that his name will be enough to pull in viewers.
Same way their Flash movie was "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox."
Same way their Aquaman movie was "Justice League: Throne of Atlantis."
They'd call it something like "Justice League: Mission to Mars."
I think it would be really cool to explore Martian man Hunter's origins on Mars with seeing his planet destroyed and all. Then at the end have him in bail (heroically) in a Martian spaceship that gets damaged and lands on earth. maybe amid credits scene where his spaceship is just sitting there in the middle of the desert and then the Justice League comes in. Green Lantern, Superman, Shazam and Wonder Woman fly down while Batman lands on the ground from the batplane and Cyborg boom-tubes in.

  A prologue actually has a lot of positives other than setting off a sea of nerdgasm among the public. The TDKRises prologue gathered some constructive suggestions about Bane's voice being inaudible so it was fixed later after fine tuning some other sound problems too.

  That could be one way to differentiate themselves from the competition, instead of post credit sequences DC could release a prologue for each movie 2-3 months before theatrical release.

The DCCU is going to change the game, sure they behind Marvel right now but come 2016 things are going get turned up. At this moment in time the only films I am in anticipation of are BvS and Suicide Squad.

  Yeepp. Marvel created solid universe, but the truth is that they didn't have any competition for years. Now WB/DC and FOX go to counterattack: R-rated Deadpool? BvS? Apocalypse? Suicide Squad? Gambit? Among these movies is the best comic book movie of 2016 .. For sure.
  Dr.Strange or Civil War? Pff.. Meh. Just ANOTHER MCU movie. In recent years, I have seen them 10 (of which only 4 really successful - IM, Avengers, CA:WS, GotG).

      Same. Zod was pretty terrifying in MoS, absolutely hell-bent on destroying all of humanity; as has Magneto been in most of the X-Men films. The one thing I haven't really seen in most Marvel movies: a real perceivable threat to the heroes and the world around them.

      The best analogy I have seen is a comparison between TDK Trilogy and The Avengers. In TDK all of the villains are just as selfless as the heroes, they believe their evil serves some greater purpose. In avengers Loki just wants power because that's what spoiled kids want. It's not because he disagrees with the way someone else is running things, he's just plain old greedy, and boring.

      I actually think that made perfect sense! It was so insane and unexpected that Ronan didn't really know how to react.
      But you do have a point about the villains in the MCU: aside from Loki, they aren't very memorable. I think that's because Marvel's best villains, like Doctor Doom or Galactus, can't actually be used by Marvel Studios.

    I think in Thor he was higher quality, because he had a genuine motivation/struggle when he found out his parentage. Rather than facing that though he slid into just a generic villain and throughout the Avengers he was essentially being Thanos' lapdog and halfheartedly leading an invasion on earth which we got no real good reason for.

      We got plenty of good reason, he was the whiney spoiled adopted kid at daycare that kept bullying the other kids until they learned to work together and stand up to him. It was a film about toddlers really.

    My opinion? Good character. Awful villain.

  I actually liked him as a villain. He's the only memorable villain in the MCU. All the others are easily forgetable.
