Jesse Eisenberg was a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came up. Eisenberg talked about the strange experience of having to shave his head for his role of Lex Luthor and called it "terrifying". Check out his comments in the video above.
They also talked about the secrecy of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and showed a picture of Eisenberg covering his head with a bandanna on set.

So are you saying Batman isn't a ripoff of the Shadow, The Phantom and Zorro (the writers even addressed this by having the Monarch theatre that Wayne's parents were shot at play the film "Mask of Zorro")? Batman isn't an original character ether. In fact, it's almost like you're acting like Batman owns the rights to the Pulp-Noir genre. Because that's the only thing Matt and Batman share in common. They have 1,000 differences and 1 similarity and all you can see is that similarity because in your eyes, every character Marvel has created is apparently a "ripoff". Actually Batman makes criminals suffer like Daredevil
You're right he does but as Batman started getting older, he became more refined and focused more on precision. The criminals already feared him, he had less need for brutality as he got older. It also depends on the writer as well. Matt on the other hand, let's his emotions get the better of him. His temper and rage has allowed him to do some psycho level things that I don't even think Thomas Wayne (Flashpoint) would do. Daredevil is a character who walks a very, very fine line between light and darkness, hero and criminal. There's times where he looks himself in the mirror and can't even recognize who he is.
I would be willing to say that DD is not only more Brutal than Bats but also more Darker than Bruce. Granted Batman does have more psychological stories, I've found that Daredevil and his world often deals with depression a lot more (something I can relate too). Hell, I remember he's even attempted suicide multiple times. But that's the dark side of DD, he also happens to have one of the biggest hearts I've ever seen. He's truly a man under that mask. Just trying to do the right thing. I remember during Nocenti's run when he was homeless and lost his law licenses after the events of Born Again, when his ex girlfriend sold his identity away for a hit of heroin to the Kingpin and he was systematically tortured and striped of everything except his core...his fighting instincts. After that beautiful story he ends up opening a free law clinic helping people who can't afford lawers and need legal help. When I look at Matt Murdock and Bruce Wayne I see 2 completely different characters but that's just me I guess

I love Batman more obviously but I love and respect DD because of Charles's suggestions to read Frank Miller's run on DD and I don't regret my decision.

See here's the thing, DD does have plenty of money. Just compared to Bats he doesn't. He's won a million dollar case in Bendis's run and is always seen wearing 1300 dollar suits. I can always tell the differences between both characters

The "Red Batman" thing comes mainly from the looks. Did Zorro or Shadow have identical masks to Batman with "horns"? Did they use throwing weapons?
Shadow and Zoro both have incredibly similar looks, playboy personas, Butlers, and are vengeful vigilantes. I didn't realize Batman owned the rights to "horns". I guess Hellboy is a ripoff too
One or two similarities are passable and can be coincidence. When it's more than a few conveniently placed similarities, the expression "where there's smoke, there's fire" applies.
And I was talking about a Batman-like mask with fake "horns" attached (Batman's trademark cowl). Hellboy has no mask, and has actual horns that look nothing like Batman's (or Daredevil's). See, I'm not claiming that Hellboy is a Batman ripoff, you're just trying to ignore Daredevil's blatant similarities.
I honestly don't see that many similarities at all. I've presented you with a ton of differences. He doesn't have a cape, or blades on his forearms ether.
As for the horns, the horns are placed on more towards his forehead, while Batman's ears are parallel to his...well ears lol. I'll post a picture so you can see. Astectics are very external. In terms of character (which is probably the most important part) they could not be anymore different. If the only thing they share in common is horns (placed on different parts of their masks/cowls) then I don't see how your analogy is applicable.
I'm not trying to ignore DD's similarities at all. You've honestly only really presented me with one or 2 similarities that are also very debatable. Batman has "ears", Daredevil has "horns". Batman's ears line directly with his ears on his cowl, Matt's horns protrude out of his forehead of his mask.

Well regardless, he has always been in the shadow of Batman, which is partly because the general audience at least sees them as similar at first glance, in terms of aesthetic. The 2003 Daredevil was a terrible Burton wannabe, and even the producer of the new series says it will be like Batman. And that panel is from an actual issue of Daredevil, so Marvel themselves started the "Red Batman" thing.
No that panel was fan edited, and it was written by a DC writer, Mark Waid who wrote stories like Kingdom Come and Tower of Babel. It never said "RedBatman". Someone eddited it to say that.
The 2003 film was a Burton wanabe? How? No wait I don't care. I didn't care for the film. I don't base my judgement on characters based on their films or TV shows, I base it on the comics. And Daredevil was never in Batman's shadow. In the early 80s he was actually outselling Batman and 50 years of writers have done their damn best to seperate the 2 characters and as someone who's been reading them both for most of my life, I'm gona say they've done a damn good job. They're different characters internally. I can see that, they might look slightly similar on the outside but on the inside they are very different
I can relate to Matt more so than Bats. The character actually helped me get through my own depression a while back when my best friend commuted suicide. I loved seeing Matt triumph over his own inner depression and tragedy. I've said this before and I'll say it again, Daredevil is much darker, brutal and hardcore than Batman. I love em both but sadly Bats had become a lot more James Bond like and not as much Pulp-Noir. Bats became the "World's Greatest Prepmaster" and not the "World's Greatest Detective". He has went somewhat back to his Noir roots with Snyder's stuff like The Dark Mirror so that's good

Conversely, if you asked, " is Mighty Mouse a rip-off Mickey Mouse ?" The answer can only be-- NO? The similarities are more consist with the Man of Steel, but only because the Man of Steel is human and appeared first. But there is a clearly documented culture of "reverse-engineering," merely months-to-years on the part of the other publishers. "Once is incidental, twice a coincidence," but dozens of times? Now that's a pattern!
Well, that's the difference, between denial and logic, that some of us aren't ready to accept.
1. Daredevil doesn't have "pointy ears" he has Devil Horns.
2. Once again Batman is not the first Dark, Superstious, Rich, Cime fighter. He came at the end of the Pulp-Noir genre and was heavily inspired by The Shadow, The Phantom and Zorro. Therefore DD and Batman BOTH owe gratitude to these characters as they are both predated

Yes the created of the show did say that. But i honestly don't think that Steven D Knight understands both characters as well as I do. I'm looking forward to his show but I don't think he realizes that the writers have spent 50 years distinguishing Daredevil into his own beautiful character that is very close to my heart
So you do recognize that Daredevil started off very "inspired" by Batman?
Um no he didn't. In fact, he was nothing like Batman at all when he was first created in 1964 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. He was actually a lot like Spiderman at the time. He had a yellow/red outfit and was a literal Daredevil. It wasn't until years later in 1979 when Frank Miller took over Daredevil and completely changed his character that he shared any resemblence what-so-ever to The Dark Knight.
So to and answer your question, no Daredevil took no inspiration from Batman when he was FIRST created. Not until 79 did he take inspiration from Bats (the 1939 Bats)
Let me add one more thing, when Frank Miller was writing Daredevil from 1979 to 1984 Daredevil was the hottest seller in comics. It was VERY dark and pulp-noir oriented and readers loved it. Now at that time Batman was technically noir and passed the campy era but not as dark as he would be in the late 80s. If it wasn't for Frank Miller's revolutionary run on Daredevil, DC NEVER would have picked up Miller and stories like TDKR and Year One never would have happend. That's what I mean, Daredevil having more inspiration on Batman than the other way around. Knightfall is also a total ripoff of Daredevil Born Again by the way but I don't care. They're both good stories, although I would put Born Again as one of the greatest Graphic Novels ever created

Well I was never that big of an Iron Man fan unlike DD who's my favorite character but from what I know about him, the only thing they really share in common is a butler, lots of money and a company but other than that I don't see much else they have in common.

I just began reading Batman's comics. He is practically my favorite fictional character. I think I know a lot about Batman thanks to the various wiki's, games, films, and animations out there. But the distinct differences you made between Batman and Daredevil is enough for me to clearly see they're not the same... Never thought it to be so in the first place. And this is coming from someone who's more into DC than Marvel at the moment. Just wanted to let you know that not all DC fans are radical fanatics... Also, I see your favorite Marvel character is Daredevil. Mine is Punisher : ) Hopefully Daredevil's Netlfix show does so well they'll issue one for The Punisher. Or the least, let Punisher have cameos in Daredevil.

And Steven D Knight (the Daredevil show runner) said his favorite character is the Punisher and he said he would love to make a hard R rated Punisher show. Here's hoping

Yeah I know. The whole Frank Miller connection. But the two characters are totally different. Daredevil's more like a cross between Nightwing and Spider-Man.
Matt never left his city to train though. He was always in Hell's Kitchen. Bruce traveled the world and mastered 127 different Martial Arts, Matt had a ninja master and mastered Judo, Ninjutsu and Akiki Jujutsu. He is also a master of Irish boxing and is one of the greatest boxers in comics. Religion plays a huge aspect to his character. Bruce isn't religious at all. I still don't get why you called him "redbatman". There are sooooooo many differences and it sounds like you already knew that

Um no. This is incredibly false. When Daredevil was first created in 1964 he wasn't anything like Batman at all. He was actually a lot closer to Spiderman. It wasn't until Frank Miller completely changed the character in 1979 (7 years before Frank began writing Batman) that the character became incredibly dark and noir heavy. Again I say, they really share nothing in common (coming from a guy who's been reading both of these characters most of his life). The only thing they truly share in common is that they are both Pulp-Noir centric characters. Although Batman's been a lot more James Bond like over the years as opposed to Noir

We'll to be fair, Frank was writing Daredevil 7 years prior to TDKR and Year One and it was because of Miller's stellar run of Daredevil that DC took notice of Miller's incredible writing talents. In a way, DC never would of hired Miller if it wasn't for his work on the Man Without Fear.

I would never tell someone that can't prefer DC or hate Marvel. Just don't make stuff up & ignore facts. If he'd do the research he'd find both Captain America & Namor pre-date Wonder Woman & Aquaman. He'd find characters such as Batman & Superman were created in the vain of pulp characters near the end of that era. He'd also find that some of the creators from DC went on to create similar characters for Marvel.

That doesn't sound like a good business model. The actual fans will see it regardless. Weighing down the general audience with exposition about characters that don't factor into the movie to cater to fans just seems...unnecessary.
DC are already on the back foot, theres no need to overcomplicate their situation by jumping ahead with a a few characters.
How so? If the DCCU doesnt use the characters or use them down the line, then they really didn't "jump ahead" in their continuity.
It is nice to have nods for the fans (which they will) but as Knight said and I'll elaborate on they know the fans are going to see it regardless but keep in mind they need to make money by pulling in the general public into the theater!!!

That would also go good with Lex Luthor with the hair style he has now in the video above. I don't know if having long hair and a beard would be good for him where he could do in one phase with Linda Lee Kara Zor-El Supergirl as his girlfriend. He can change it up and go back to the bald head again time and time again. The bald head would be cool for Legion of Doom. The long hair and beard was for his phase during Reign of the Supermen when he was friends with Superboy and Lex Luthor's girlfriend was Supergirl. He could have been doing business with Superboy in marketing Superboy. I see having the hair style he has now in that video with the hair could be good when running for president. The actor is 31 years old and a person can run for president after they're 35 years of age. I think his character's age could be the same as his age.
