how did they screw over superhero movies? superhero movies are good but not Oscar worthy...but i agree on the Keaton thing
They didn't screw over them per say, but the way they trashed them throughout the night was kind of harsh.
Oscar worthy? what exactly does that entail? Because history has proven that a lot of the Best Picture nominees (and winners) are largely forgotten in the annals of film history in favour of those that weren't nominated to begin with. Point i'm trying to say to you and the guy you replied to...Oscars don't mean squat when measuring the quality of film.

Is it just me or are the Oscars becoming less and less significant over the years.......seriously, who are they to tell us which movies are the best.....I can think for myself, thank you very much...

I know I am in the minority....as are people who can think for themselves......which is my point.....there are many movies out there who I think are better than oscar winning movies by far....I do not allow any movie academy, or any outside entity for that matter, to tell me what to think.....outside of the actors who die for the recognition to win an oscar, I feel sorry for anyone who needs an award show to tell them which movies are the best......it's all political anyway.....I rather watch The Dark Knight a million times over Slumdog Millionaire

That's what happens when something becomes irrelevant...its followers start making noise to try and capture some attention, like whining about the "deluge" of comic book movies. To be fair, I did think the genre is looking to be oversaturated soon (and that was even before the Valiant announcement). But as long as people are enjoying them, who cares? If you're so worried about movies becoming all about comics, make something else for a change.
Completely agree!....a lot of it also has to do with jealousy, because lets face it these comic book movies are bringing in serious money like no other time in movie history.....so it's like these old timers at the academy love to bash this new era in live action superhero movies. They really did not grow up watching what we see today....I mean certain characters, like Batman, are becoming shakespearean to the public....its amazing the great quality in superhero filming these days....what would be nice would be the academy award having a separate category for the best superhero...but I doubt we'll ever see that....and yeah, outside of comic book movies, the movie industry is lacking in creativity which I think plays a big role in the popularity of the comic book movies genre.
Yes Oscars are pointless in my opinion. Gravity won like 50 Oscars but I still hate that movie. Birdman didn't win and I love Michael Keaton

That whole "report" is such BS, theres no need to report on it here. It talks about how the trailer that "leaked" is a rehash of the "last one"....what last one? We haven't had a BvS trailer at all. The clip for comic-con is also has no narration or footage of anything but Batman & Supes stare each other down. Also people are saying they were on the /tv/ forum last night and this never even appeared.
The Dark Knight trilogy is canon to SuperCafé. So I think they would bring in the multiverse concept whenever its convenient.
Everything is canon in Super Café, watch the HISHE for Days of Future Past, Batman is wearing the Adam West Costume and Superman has the Christopher Reeve costume.

Don't expect the trailer to come out before the Avengers come out. It's like riding that awesome car and have a big hole on the road.
The hype Warner will get from showing the trailer now will get blurry by the time the Avengers2 comes out, speaking about the mass public of course.
The best marketing strategy I can quickly think of is releasing the trailer when Avengers2 has already been released and is getting cold. That probably being half of may, then they release the trailer and all this people who are now thinking "whoa, the last superhero flick was so good" will be thinking "Whoa, that other superhero flick will be awesome"
By mid-May AoU will be cold? The first one rode well into June. Unless this is a GL, Spider-man 3, ASM2, I cannot fathom after 2 weeks the movie will be cold.
By cold I don't mean forgotten and no longer a success. By cold I mean that everybody and their mothers will have seen it already, and even with people watching again and again, the movie will no longer a mystery. Indeed a success, and will continue to be big for way beyond June in fact.
When everyone knows what is great already and start wondering what's next, you show them what's next to draw their attention. But I agree, I said mid may but it's too soon. I had forgotten the movie launches by the end of April.
And with Comiccon so close, they would prefer to release there.
I believe that we can expect something for March 25th. Not sure if it's the trailer, but something to wet are apatite for a year count down
Better to have a well done movie than pump out something that's rushed. They gotta make sure people get impressed beyond anything they may have seen before in a comic book movie.

Don't think Andrew had a choice, Marvel wanted to recast.
Still not confirmed about Garfield yet... but if its true
1) 2 Spidey reboots in less than a decade
2) 2 Superman reboots (SR can be called a soft reboot)
3) 2 Batman reboots, 6th recasting
4) 2 Hulk reboots
5) Captain America rebooted
6) Wonder Woman rebooted
Captain America really should not count. Wonder Woman is having her first appearance in a big screen movie hardly what I could call a reboot either.
Well, Captain America and Wonder Woman don't count at all. But they'll be four years in-between The Dark Knight Rises and Batman v. Superman. And the two versions will be DRASTICALLY different. Same thing with Superman Returns Superman, and Man of Steel Superman.
As for Spider-Man. He's already been reset in recent years. And the MCU version will be resetting him yet again. With him being back in high school and in the early stages of Spider-Manning. Thanks a lot, Sony! LOL

I'll consider it a fresh start because I couldn't stand ASM/Garfield, but I'm not 100% sold its a reboot...just yet. Burton to Schumacher wasn't a reboot. Norton to Ruffalo wasn't a reboot. It could just be tweaks. We'll see.

It goes back to their Man of Steel video (which was hilarious!), where Aquaman appears in the end and whispers "Justice League...".
Superhero movies are really good, so I didn't like that in the video because it kind of made superhero movies look negative. Superhero movies are really good and they're doing so many new things. I didn't like Batman crying which ruined his joke. That's probably based on that Ben Affleck cries even though he's a spoiled rich millionaire and has had everything in his life, and he cries about his wimpy scrawny alcoholic father who beat him up. He grew up with two financially well off college graduate parents who make good money in a nice neighborhood and he's crying even though he's had all of those movie choices even though he sucks at movies. I was hoping we wouldn't get a crying Batman, but then he might do an overly contrived B movie Batman which is just as bad or both. Jason Mamoa would have looked good as Lobo. I think Aquaman can get more screen time and they may promote Aquaman more. Since Jason Mamoa is part native Hawaiian and grew up in Hawaii being very interested in marine life, Aquaman is closer to home for him. He was typecasted so by doing this they can separate him from that, which would have been the flaw with his Lobo. They need to take their time with Lobo and figure him out first before putting Lobo in movies. They need to bring Lobo to a very high level and make him a top ranking movie DC character with top ranking movies. I see Lobo as a white 80s space punk biker. He's more artistic in an 80s way. Tom Savini in his 1978 biker Dawn of the Dead kind of reminded me of Lobo, except that I would make Lobo white otherwise he'll be too much like the Machete Kills guy. We need something original from Lobo that doesn't copy that, and this Lobo also has good personality points instead of being a mindless hitman. They can get into that where he develops his other nature which is apart of joining Justice League and especially Titans or a similar group like Young Justice or Legion of Super-Heroes if they combine those. I wouldn't choose an actor that looks young and small, so he has more of a manly build but can still have some youthful qualities. Legion of Super-Heroes could come in later as a time traveling committee that Titans and Young Justice are apart of where the Legion is apart of two different time periods. Legion of Super-heroes also has adult members I think, and so it can get members of Justice League to join it as extra curricular retraining for superheroes also with helping with the time flow. It can connect a system with the superheroes to where they can use more analytic skills to take their roles to new places like how Marvel did that with SHIELD and it's other affiliations, SWORD, Illuminati, and others. Lex Luthor can also create a supervillain affiliation with Legion of Doom. Lex Luthor can also branch out to outerspace after the dating experience with Supergirl while he's being on good behavior and president of the United States. With Gorilla Grodd, Brainiac, and others Lex Luthor can develop some interesting things in outerspace. Brainiac was too complacent with blowing up planets and taking certain cities, and so he wants to figure out new ways and a new set of goals with the creativity of Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom. Brainiac doesn't want to control things, and likes how Lex Luthor does it in bringing other minds together. Brainiac has controlled things for so long and has plateaued because of it. Brainiac is best as a type of advanced supercomputer but he may limit what computational skills he uses in the future to open up the flow to more creativity with the Legion of Doom, while he also does use the computational skills for certain things but it can become redundant otherwise and lacks the human aspect. Titans could be adults too so they could skip teen titans, and instead do Young Justice (with 1993 Superboy Con-El, Supergirl, Lobo, and others) and Legion of Super-Heroes. If they do this Spiderman reboot right then it can be really good. They just couldn't get the formula or the spirit for the Amazing Spider-Man, but maybe they can with the spectacular Spiderman. They might have to remove that dash as it's bad luck. All other movies suck now except for superhero movies, but movies have been down for a few years as it is. Movies are going to raise the bar a lot again outside of just the superhero movies which have been the only movies raising the bar for several years now. There's going to be a lot of other good movies being released now in the next few years outside of just superhero movies, and movies are going to improve a lot by 2020 where things will look really good then too.
I love the in-jokes, the self awareness, and hilarious spoofs they do.
I had to do a double take when Momoa Aquaman showed up because I genuinely thought that was Lobo for a moment. It took me a little while to realize it was Aquaman. I guess it's because of the black and white shading. Makes me kind of sad Momoa wasn't cast as Lobo now that I think about it . . .

Hey it will be great if we have like 10 reboots of Batman, because you can do a lot with him.
Most critics hate superhero movies and somehow they think unoriginality is associated with CBM which is total bullshit
