Update: Gotham producers issued a statement to Variety after Smith's comments about not returning to the show for Season 2:

Fish Mooney's storyline takes a lot of interesting twists and turns into the finale of season one of 'Gotham'.

Jada Pinkett Smith who plays Fish Mooney on Gotham was on LIVE with Kelly and Michael this morning. When asked if she would be a part of season two, Pinkett-Smith shook her head and replied, "I don't think so. I signed for a year, and the year's up -- but there are some great things coming ahead on 'Gotham,' believe you me. There's a lot of good stuff coming."
