on 'Batman v Superman' costume designer talks about Aquaman and working with Zack Snyder

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 20 hours, you've seen the first photo of Jason Momoa as Aquaman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The costume was designed by Michael Wilkinson, who has worked with Zack Snyder previously on movies like Watchmen, Sucker Punch, and Man of Steel. Wilkinson shared a few words with toofab about his Aquaman design, which has now been seen by the whole world:

"It has been a thrill and an honor to bring this iconic character to life for a modern audience," Wilkinson tells toofab of his Aquaman design.

"Zack Snyder has a brilliant vision for making this character powerful and relevant," he continues. "I enjoyed designing a costume that reflects this vision and honors the character's rich legacy."

We've now seen Wilkinson's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice designs for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. Which Justice League member are you hoping to see next? Let me know in the comments below!

I think Cyborg out of the remaining three (Flash and Green Lantern) left to showcase, is going to be the hardest to pull off in making it look like you are looking at a legit CYBORG. It can come off looking cheesey as hell, like something out of an 80's science fiction B movie.

Don't get me wrong, those films have their own charm, but that approach will stick out like a sore thumb in contrast to the cast that has been revealed so far.

Yeah, the first two Terminators pulled it off, but Cyborg is 80% robot armor on the outside. But I think Synder and crew are going to surprise us again with a new and slightly different concept for Cyborg.

UNITE THE SEVEN in 2015! yeah, buddy!

Every comment I have ever seen from you has been negative and I can't tell if you're trolling or just ignorant. And if you are ignorant get off this website because you seen to hate everything on it.But that is beside the point. Aquaman lives in Atlantis were he is king and has control of the ocean, which is a majority of the earth. The army he is in control of is capable of flooding the entire earth and killing all inhabitants. And this "pitchfork" that he uses is an ancient atlantean relic that can control water and hurt superman. Because of the pressure of living so deep underwater he has become super strong and he is able to jump miles at a time and go toe to toe with superman. Also from living in Atlantis he has learned an ancient Atlantean martial arts firm that is only known by those who live there. Don't mock Aquaman's trident if you're not going to mock batman's batarangs, wonderwoman's lasso of truth or green arrows boxing glove arrow as well.

I'm thinking one of these would blend you to oblivion; and not the one that's rusted to hell and back and looks like its been sitting in a cob-webbed corner of a backroad barn for decades.

Illogical is the wrong word. When going into combat, using any weapon is logical. Hell, using an improvised weapon makes more sense then not (think of all the horror movies where people run around the house like idiots & never consider a weapon.)

To be honest with you, despite having a gun nearby, if someone breaks into my house, I'd sooner use a blunt object like a hammer to inflict pain.

A better phrase would be "less practical".

Yes, lol. Average action, no drama/emotions, no real threat, no real villain, horrible dialogue, bland/boring plot, no artistry involved in the film at all. It did succeed in one department though: the comedy. Avengers is more of a comedy movie than a superhero movie, so sad, all the blind Marvel zombies will just keep on ignoring that fact.

So, when I go to Netflix, I'll see Avengers in the same section as Caddyshack, Stripes, Role Models, & Blazing Saddles?!

I'm fairly certain I'll find it closer to the Indiana Jones & Star Wars movies.

So the epic tone that is building for Infinity War isn't...epic because it's not a darker tone?!

Some people are turned off by the darker sepia tones. Sure, now Batman is in the mix, but I'm not sold on the idea the average movie goer is really going to see these first batch of movies just because the characters are together.

Judging by the past, I don't believe MCU needs to steer the ship onto a different course.

I'd say at this point, MCU still has its brand. DCCU has not yet earned that with the general audience. That's more then "nothing on DC at this point."

And after Batman, Kent, & Diana (more then likely in that order), who are the 'big guns' Joe-Average movie goer cares about?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. DC is on the right track, for sure but, right now, Marvel is ahead. They have proved that they can build a cinematic universe. They have established themselves. DC hasn't. If BvS and Suicide Squad are great and very successful (and I hope they are!), then the conversation might change. As of now, Marvel is ahead. At the end of the day, I want them both to be successful. It's good for them and for all of us.
