Will Smith and Margot Robbie talk more about 'Suicide Squad', David Ayer's secrecy (video)

As Will Smith and Margot Robbie continue to promote their new movie Focus, we'll keep getting little nuggets of Suicide Squad info.

At a recent press conference, Smith and Robbie revealed that director David Ayer is very secretive with his Suicide Squad script. He's only showed them images and shared some ideas about the movie, they haven't had a chance to look at the screenplay yet.

While Ayer may be secretive, he's certainly not as secretive as Christopher Nolan. Ayer has been sharing behind-the-scenes photos on Twitter while he puts the finishing touches on his Suicide Squad script.

There's a love triangle where Harley Quinn sees Deadshot for a little bit. I don't know about the comic books for that. Harley Quinn has a lot of sexual drive. That version of Harley Quinn is a cool idea. They can still use the origin of Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel. Joker helped her to fund her education, and she could have been in the crime circles a long time before that. When Joker first began he didn't want to end up being a full on gangster working a few part time jobs such as comedian, banker, and at a chemical factory, and that was around the time when he lost his wife and child to loan sharks, because Batman screwed up that criminal task at Chemical Factory and permanently deformed Joker almost killing him. If Joker had died, it would have been Batman's first and only kill. That's when Batman was over excessive when starting out as an egotistical rich elite from his youth with his training at League of Assassins he paid a lot of money for. After the chemical factory criminal event the "Red Hood" man that fell into the chemical vat became Joker. In the comics Joe Chill killed Bruce Wayne's parents and Joker had nothing to do with it. The Chemical Factory criminal job was meant to be a way to avoid any red tape such as it wouldn't cross the paths of police or any suspects, so he wanted to raid a building out of the ordinary.

    In one of the newer movies she was still with Joker. She was probably getting cramped and wanted to try someone different after being with Joker for many years. Joker and Harley Quinn were probably having lots of issues at the time and some temporary changes needed to take place. Harley Quinn may have gone with Deadshot for a little while, but she probably missed and went back to Joker like she always does. Sometimes Joker likes to focus on certain things and Harley Quinn can be a distraction. But not always, and he's improved his skills a lot when Harley Quinn is around. But when the plateaus take place, that's where the temporary separations happen. Does Joker and Harley Quinn officially have any children. I think from what I heard it's not official, and it was a ditched canon plot with having a child.

I agree, Edgerton would be a great choice. Very capable actor. Karl Urban could be Orm. Orm has to look evil though, and i would also like to see Luke Evans involved. I could see Luke Evans as a young Raas.

This isn't Guardians of the freakin' Galaxy! Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and the rest of the main cast, are NOT superheroes! I hope that David Ayer makes that clear in the Suicide Squad movie. They are VERY bad people. LOL

Lovable bad guys are awesome. They tend to make movies better. But the Suicide Squad and the Justice League, are two TOTALLY different teams, with different goals. The general audience may not know that. But I'm sure David Ayer knows that.

Late in production? They start filming in April. The cast has already been sent the description of their characters. I'm sure they have a general idea of what the plot will be, and they're smart enough to not reveal that, while promoting a different movie. LOL

Assuming they're not idiots. David Ayer and Jared Leto understand the importance of the Joker role. You can't half-ass that character.

Yeah, a description. According to Mr. Smith and Miss Robbie. They were given an in-depth detailed written description about their individual characters. I'd assume that they know the general concept of the movie, and that they trust David Ayer. And I'm PRETTY SURE that they'll be given the final draft of the script, BEFORE they start filming in mid-April.
The people at Marvel Studios, aren't the only ones capable of planning ahead, and making a quality comic book movie. LOL

    I did Goyer Wrote all 3 scripts at the same time with the Joker still in The Dark Knight! So why would Nolan want him in Batman Begins if the Joker was not even in that script, I also know that it was between him and some other actor but he got chosen because he agreed to isolate himself in a room for a extend period of time (I don't rember how long)

      I do not hate him purely for one film, however one film does a good job of summing up all the reasons to not love him. Dude has had his head up his ass for a while, using his influence and $ to try to buy his kid's way into entertainment by forcing their horrible movies on us. He's make it clear publicly how he won't act in movies unless he's the center of attention in them, etc.
