Henry Cavill says 'Batman v Superman' won't be split into two movies

If you didn't hear, mainstream websites gave way more attention than they should have to a random photo that popped up on the internet yesterday. The photo, which was a really bad fake, pretended to be from one of the final frames of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer. It claimed that Batman v Superman would split up into two parts — Part 1: Enter the Knight on October 23, 2015 and Part 2: Dawn of Justice on March 25, 2016.

Variety film editor Ramin Setoodeh caught up with Henry Cavill today at the BAFTA Tea Party in Los Angeles, and Superman himself officially debunked that crazy rumor.

Im relief with that news. Besides the 2 split-movies be a very tempting idea, i was afraid about how that decision could affect the quality of the material. Stick with the original plan, kick ass and release the trailer!

I disagree with the "split film" terminology..it should be meant as one film or two...and I would have been fine with two films.
So, if it's to be a single film, fine.

Totally. I've felt like most all split films that have come out in the last decade or so have been incomplete. Each film feels like nothing but filler in order to draw it out and justify having two of them. I get why. They have a built in fan base that will pay to go see them despite being verbally annoyed at how obviously unnecessary it is. Hell, I was just as guilty as anyone else when it cane to shelling out my cash.
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, Deathly Hollows, and the most glaring offender recently has been The Hobbit trilogy (wow that hurt). Never saw the Twilight films, but I heard it was the same there.
The only time I can think of where it worked out was Kill Bill, but that wasn't intended as one two hour film that was padded up with garbage to get some more cash. That was split in two because it was the only way for Tarantino to film it, and tell the story, the way he felt was the best.
They're already splitting Justice League. Don't split the one before it. I really hope Justice League and Infinity War don't suffer from the same problems as others in this category.

I want to hear this directly from him. Or someone at WB. Some sort of official statement. Then i'll believe it. Besides, having this movie split into two would actually be a great idea and will restore a bit of faith after what seemed to be a never ending calamity of stuffing the turkey with all the characters they announced. These characters need time to breathe, and 2 1/2hrs (which is my best guess for the length of BvS) won't cut it. The story of Batman and Superman facing off is massive, and should be treated as such.

As far as I'm concerned, the quotes came from the Variety film editor who claimed Cavill said this. It doesn't constitute any official confirmation. Anything can be said or tweeted on the internet with words twisted. I'm sure the film is going to be massive on scale. I'm just afraid the story will suffer from all these characters while the main show is Batman and Superman. I hope I'm wrong. We'll know when this thing comes out.

      I agree. I really enjoyed it and am really looking forward to how they continue to develop the character in BvS: DoJ. I fully believe that they'll revisit a lot of what happened in MoS and build upon it in very positive ways. I think too many people watched MoS and took it as though it was going to be stand alone movie; it's as if they think it would never be alluded to in future films, or something.
      I feel that when it's all said and done, MoS will be better remembered once people see and better understand the bigger picture (that being the entire DCCU.) I'm sure it will all get tied together and become epic.

The fight scenes in Man of Steel is one of the reasons why I like the film so much. Sometimes I watch it just for those scenes. They're beautifully choreographed especially when you pay attention to the detail of the fighting style of the Kryptonians. I never understood people saying the scenes were dragged out because if you time them they're not even that long, Superman's final fight with Zod is only around 6 minutes. Can we just appreciate this? I love when he has his hand against his neck. Also I love you guys haha, it's so annoying and disheartening to hear everyone shredding and bashing this film all the time and I just want to have a good time discussing it:

  Exactly, I think it's some of the things are over looked when it comes to the film. You see how much work they put in to make these fights interesting. I hated that people seemed to compare it to the terrible explosion/mind numbing scenes of Transformers.

    Yea I always thought everyone criticizing the film for that were just looking at the surface and most of them didn't even know what they were talking about. I was shocked when I first saw the movie and that happened but I never thought for a second that it was the wrong thing either. He literally had no choice and I'm sure what he did is going to shape him and his decisions as a person going forward.

    He's killed Zod before, so it wasn't anything groundbreaking. It was completely 'suicide by cop', which is why it's not murder.
    I need some sort of consequence (presumably shown on BvS:DoJ) to justify that scene. I still believe they could've trimmed the disaster porn (which I found to have derailed the great story of the first 2/3rds of the movie) to show more of how killing made Kent feel.

      Just to make something a little bit more clear, let's make an exercise here:
      Before Superman Returns (pun intended), Zod already made a wasteland of the city. People on this zone were either already dead or left.
      As they both clash at each other, they randomly clash in a condemned building, but this is the first of two, as the screen fades they are into another building winch you can notice by the presence of electricity, lights and a fairly well state compared to the firs. Zod being the one entering later, winch means he was the one that threw Superman into this other building, burns it down with Heat vision just before leaving.
      If you go slowly, you can see Superman hitting his back against the building as it collapses, then he looses control of the flight, smashes some cars and falls under another building.
      Zod returns and kicks the gas truck against Clark who dodges it like a boss, but he didn't consider the explosion, winch he looks back to see how much damage it did just because he steps out of the way.
      The villain comes back and starts the fight again by surprising the hero. Superman demonstrates how much of a newbie he is by not minding his surroundings as a car falls on top of his head, giving Zod the edge.
      Zod uppercuts Superman to the top of the building, and he goes back down to stop Zod. As they go and clash at each other, the shockwave makes a severe damage on the building that, at this point, had to be mostly evacuated, as was the street they were fighting into.
      As they start flying, (You can say the next part is me presuming but I'll address that later) Superman punches Zod ahead in a straight line skyhigh, above the building, winch can or cannot mean he's trying to stay away. Zod then flies back and hides himself on the city, like he understood Superman was trying to keep him away.
      The next thing is Zod trying to Silent Takedown Supes, coming out of a building and restarting at advantage. General punches him against another building, and Superman counters by slamming Zod's head against the windows of another building (This is the single moment he actually damages a place where people could have been in).
      Zod grabs his cape and spins with it and throws Superman with force to shoot him through all those buildings. Then Zod takes it into Space, being thrown at the Wayne satellite. Zod destroys the satelite let it fall to earth, so as Superman tries to hold it, he attacks through it. Superman manages to control the situation and slams Zod where they fell.
      The next thing we all know: There's a group of very unlucky people trying to get the hell out through the Subway, when Zod aims his head and starts Blasting at them. Superman does what needed be done.
      Now, of all the things broken, very few are fairly on Superman's back, who for me was trying his best to do the lesser damage he could. That's why I said he was trying to keep Zod away from the city.
      If all this I have for myself is real, why didn't they show it more? Well, Nolan, the exposition guy might have had more to this movie than we thought at first, but not here. This fight was mainly scripted by Zack, I doubt Nolan had any advise for him, after all, Visuals is what Zack does best. But Zack sometimes leaves details too open to realizing.
      While part of the dialog was very exposing, like the explaining of how important Clark was for the world by both his parents, the second more action half of the movie didn't explain much. For example, did you guys know that Superman coming out of the train Nam-Ek threw at him was to illustrate that he's "more powerful than a locomotive"? Hell, a line would be good to notice, haha.
      Cool thing is that, while one wants us to understand exactly what his vision is, the other leaves too open for interpretation. If he had shown Superman looking around the buildings and part of them fading, we'd know where there would be people in danger or not, for example.
      ANYWAY, I should be working haha. Love this movie still.

  I mis spoke a bit. It true that for me the Zimmer score didn't come even close to being as emotional for me as the Williams one. But that wasn't really my issue. My issue was that it wasn't used all that much. For example when "Superman" first exists the ship, aka, the "Fortress of Solitude", there is barely any music playing, It had no weight to it for me. I wanted loud moving music, not just a quiet tone I could barely hear.

    1. No one was ever going to top John William's Superman theme.
    2. Regardless of whether or not Zimmer's theme was good or not, it was underplayed in the movie. Superman's reveal deserved better.

    Are you referencing music in general, each character's theme music (as John Slade stated "every hero has to have a theme music), or instrumental music?
    Before I used some for a workout soundtrack, I found some Marvel music memorable:
    (Excluding AC/DC & Iron Man) Iron Man tracks Mark I, Mark II, Iron Man are memorable from the first movie.
    Final Battle is memorable when the Iron Legion took the Extremist group to church in IM3
    Cap benefits from having several patriotic sounding chords in the soundtrack for his first movie.
    Into the Fray is memorable for Cap 2, though the more memorable song was only used in the trailer: "Pretender" by Ninja Tracks.
    Avengers had a couple solid songs; the theme & A Promise stand the most memorable for me.
    Black Widow's theme is pretty recognizable from IM2...but I think that's because it was the only moment she really did anything

      The only Marvel sound track I remember like the back of my head is the Sam Rami Spiderman Trilogy and X1 and X2 opening them. But those are the only Marvel movie themes that come to mind.

      Yea there were definitely a few parts that stand out to me for sure. But Wolverine is just one of those characters that you can't make as a PG 13 movie to get the full experience. He's always been one of the most violent characters in all of comics. So making it PG-13 takes a lot away. But I did like the unrated version of 2013's The Wolverine. I wish they'd do that more often

    The only superhero themes I can remember are Williams' Superman, Elfman's Batman, Hefti's Batman, the Shazam tv show theme, the Wonder Woman tv show theme, The Hulk TV show theme, The Greatest American Hero theme, and the 60s Spider-Man cartoon theme. Everything else is generic and forgetable, most especially Zimmer.

  Iron Man II was meh. Iron Man III was uber meh. Thor II was, for me, unwatchable. I liked MoS but IMO it wasn't 1/2 as good as Avengers or Cap I or Cap II or IM 1. IMHO MoS sits right in the middle of the MCU in terms of quality and fun.

      I'm not going to criticize your opinion, but I just wanted to say I was taken back by a few of your rankings.
      Wolverine Origins getting a 5, but The Wolverine a 4 is shocking on 2 counts: most people don't rank Origins as better, fewer yet as a 5
      Ranking Spider-man 3, TASM (I would include 2 here, but that's all based on secondhand comments), & X-Men 3 as 5, but movies like Batman Begins, Captain America, & the first Superman movies as 4 is something I normally don't see.
      Again, not judging your opinion, just commenting on my shock. Normally I can figure out a person's tastes in movies, but you are one person I cannot pinpoint.

      Not only that, but I can rewatch and change my mind. It's not a set in stone type thing. As for the wolverine, many people complain about the last third, and I'm like, hello!, you mean the only part with a cool badguy? Origins problems wasn't the amount of characters. It was everything else. The Wolverine's problem was the same as batman begins: ninjas. I know its part of their stories, but id rather see omega red or killer croc. Not bad movies, not even close, better than some of my 5's.
      But not as entertaining.

      The 3rd act of The Wolverine did return to more the traditional comic book movie 3rd act. Up until then, I really enjoyed Logan's Ronin journey. If I take nostalgia out (which takes Raimi's Spider-man off the board), The Wolverine is my favorite comic book movie. I still think Unbreakable is the best in the genre, but The Wolverine is my favorite.

      I loved The Wolverine.. its plot, setting, pacing and cinematography. I fall into that group that think the final act brought the film down a bit. I'm excited to see what Mangold and Jackman come up with for he next film.

    That's more than a fair assessment. I think we have to keep in mind though, it's DC's first movie in their new universe, as such has to be taken on part with the phase 1 movies. In that respect, I'd say I enjoyed Ironman and MOS about the same. Thor not-so-much. I hated Captain America The First Avenger, but really dug Avengers. So yeah, CAFA/Thor/MOS/IM/Avengers You're definitely still right.

  If we're sticking with "SITuation COMedy", then I've got to give it to Seinfeld. There's nearly a daily occurrence where a Seinfeld reference is made for me. My wife never saw the show until a couple of years ago, and even she's notice that to be true for her also.

    Usually when this topic is discussed it comes down to Seinfeld vs. Friends. But I'm ashamed to admit that I never really got into Seinfeld. I've only seen a handful of episodes, and I just didn't find the characters as likable as in Friends. Plus they never seem to show it here, unlike Friends, which is on a non-stop loop.

  I'm a huge Batman fan as well but everyone needs to be real here. People love Batman because he's "only human" and as such they think they could be like him and defeat a God like Superman. But ironically Batman is the MOST unbelievable character DC has. BECAUSE he is only human. He accomplishes things no human could. You can't dodge bullets or heat vision. You can't disappear from a man who can move faster than the speed of sound or can see/hear though walls. You can't punch Superman without crippling yourself, no matter how many bricks you can break with your karate chop. FFS Superman could obliterate the batcave from orbit.
  Sure Superman is unbelievable as well but he's an Alien with superpowers, that's the whole point. Batman is a billionaire with PERFECT genes, supermodel good looks, genius intelligence, etc... He gets punched in the head night after night and never has any brain damage. He broke his back in the comics and perfectly recovered. Conversely Superman acrtor Christopher Reeves broke his back and never walked again. I could go on and on....

    Given a scenario in which he'll get punched right in the head, I doubt he'll survive.
    But it is, a comic book character...
    So in order to enjoy it and believe it, you need to accept the Batman concept, in which a very capable human being has made himself a bit more than human... through perseverance, determination and uncomprimising will.
    You can see bits of Batman in a real life stories, just like in Stan Lee's reality show, Superhumans....

      I agree with that. I have no problem with Batman POSSIBLY being able to take out Superman. Given the right circumstances anyone can take out anyone. How else do you explain the most powerful men in history of the US being killed by assassins? But that's not really my point. The point is the hypocritical nature of Batman fans who insist Batman is better/more powerful than Superman even though he is human (genius, skill, training, money, etc...) and then justify that by accrediting non-human capabilities to the man. If Bats can take out Supes fine. But stop pretending Bats is only human. Because he's not. If you insist that Bats is awesome because he is only human then accept the fact that Supes would hand him his butt.

    Yikes, a lot for me to comment on here:
    1.) Kent isn't a god; he's a man. He's only a god to people who put him on a pedestal. It's the "man" with human upbringings that make him "super". Like any man, he's got weaknesses.
    2.) Im certain if Batman went to great lengths to wear a light-wear, strong armor type suit to wear on his nightly patrols, he'd also have some sort of padding in the cowl to absorb headshots. Sure a finger flick from Kent could take his head off, but how often does Batman have to fight someone of that power level on a nightly basis? Of those times, how often does Batman forget his training & take a shot to the head?
    3.) do you know how Batman "perfectly healed" from being crippled? It wasn't from a surgery & physical therapy. There's a specific reason it's perfectly healed & Reeve did live in a comic book world that had that as an option.
    4.) any good tactician knows you don't combat an opponent's strengths. You target his weaknesses. Be it in sports, the corporate world, or war. The British expected to defeat the Colonies. America expected to beat the Vietnamese. What happened? Both cases the perceived weaker group attacked the opposing side's weaknesses with their own strengths.
    Batman is a master tactician. Realistically, he's not walking away without missing a limb or two (at best), but it's certainly not going to be a cake walk for Kent either.

      I agree with most of what you said (especially 4, Sun Tiu's the Art of War comes to mind) but Batman is still incredibly unrealistic. The whole mastery of 127 different Martial Arts and earning 12 Masters degrees in about 10 years comes to mind. People don't realize this but it would take about 2 life times to do all that. It takes 10 years alone to get a Black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and even getting a Black belt doesn't necessarily mean you've mastered a Martial Art. Then also learning escapology, weapons training, health and mental conditioning, 12 Masters degrees in some University (for most people that would take 96 years with the Masters degrees alone) etc. The only realistic Superhero is The Punisher. Anyone with an extensive Military background, ex FBI agent, huge guns, ammunition and explosives collection and the right incentive can be Frank Castle. Frank is also a brilliant tactician but he likes to keeps things purely street level.

      You're typical person would have a lot of responsibilities to worry about. A billionaire who has zero responsibilities have nothing but time.
      Is he definitely a master of "127" forms of martial arts? A lot of them overlap at some point. Whose to say he's got the highest rank in each. Who's to say if he does, it was achieved before his first night as Batman. Do we have a definite age Bruce began studying martial arts? Plus, he uses a mixture of various forms of martial arts to have his own style.
      Part of training as a martial artist involves mental conditioning.
      I've also never read anywhere Bruce Wayne or an alias even went to college to get an degrees. Batman is exceptionally brilliant, well read, & well studied. He's tutored with renowned specialists in various fields...but that doesn't mean there's a wall in the BatCave with his degrees framed & hung.

I assumed that because he had 12 "degrees" he had to have earned them at a University. I didn't take into account that he could have been self taught through reading. So my apologies for the miscalculation but still even then, combined with all the Martial Arts training would take much, much more than 10 years. I mean I love comic books but I understand that they are a fantasy. I want to wake up with bone claws, a healing factor and an adamantium skeleton but I know that's not gona happen.

      It definitely wasn't Year One. Again, I don't recall any reference to Batman being a master of every form of martial arts when he first put on the cowl. There's enough style overlap to shorten the training time. Plus, what might take me a month to learn, you could in 2 weeks.
      Presumably if Batman began his training within a year or 2 following his parents' murder & returned to Gotham 22/23 years old, that's damn near 15 years.

      1) We're really splitting hairs here. Yes Clark is not a God. He is also not a man. He is an Alien. One that can defy gravity and lift boulders. Sure he has weaknesses. Kryptonite, magic, etc.. And sure Batman could exploit those. But that's not the point. The point is Batman has WAY more weaknesses than Superman does and in a fair fight, Superman would splatter Batman on the side of a wall. The idea that Batman is stronger or better than Superman is just nuts and fanboy wank.
      2) Batman could have padding in the cowl. So what? Even if he fights robbers more than super powered freaks so what? He does it night after night after night. And he gets banged up regularly. And heals PERFECTLY. that's just not realistic. Now of course these are comics not reality but the whole appeal to batman in the first place is that he is only human which makes realism a factor in his capabilities. You don't get your back broken and then heal perfectly and fight crime night after night. Batman is the most unrealistic figure in comics BECAUSE he is just a man.

      Sure Batman has more weaknesses then Kent...but Kent's biggest weakness isn't magic or Kryptonite. It's his moral compass. If you strip that from Kent then he's no longer Superman. THATS the biggest weakness Batman exploits.
      Batman's spine was healed by 2 metahumans. Of course Itd heal perfectly. That had nothing to do with any "realistic" aspect. And his body hasn't healed perfectly. The man has scars all over his body.

      Regarding Bat's back healing I don't care how it was done. The point is that the man is not "Batman" because he is only human. He has powers whether they are his own or his companions, etc... No human could do what Batman does. That is the point. Batman is loved because he is regarded as realistic but he is the most unrealistic character in comics.

      The point was that Batman could beat Kent, despite being human; which your initial point was saying otherwise.
      You stated Batman's spine was healed "perfectly" unlike Reeve. Here's the thing, if metahumans/mutants existed & healed Reeve's spine "perfectly", that wouldn't make him less "human." You're moving the goalposts to justify your position. You can have it, I'm not trying to change you. However, saying "Batman is the most unrealistic character because his back healed perfectly by 2 metahumans (which weren't his friends, by the way)" has several plotholes. Having superhuman friends/acquaintances or enemies does make the character any less realistic.

      My point was never that Batman couldn't beat Superman despite being human. Go back and read what I wrote. In fact I even referenced the fact that US Presidents have been taken out by assassins. My point was that people that claim that Batman is better than Superman are ridiculous. They claim Bats is better than Supes because he is only human and can beat Superman and yet Batman does so by accomplishing feats that no ordinary human can do. its the irony that I have a problem with.
      And Batman IS the most unrealistic character in comics. And its not simply because meta humans healed his back. Its because he is human and does things no human can do. A character like Superman is UBER unrealistic. No one can defy gravity or lift a boulder with his pinky finger. But he's an alien. Batman is HUMAN. and he does things no human can do. Its his humanity that makes him unrealistic. If Batman was an alien or had a power ring or was struck my lighting in a chemical lab then fine. But he wasn't. AGAIN the same thing that makes batman sdo appealing to fans is the same thing that makes him so unrealistic. Batman could not exist in the real world. And the reason everyone loves him is because they think he could.

      Batman being better then Kent is subjective. Batman IS better then Kent for me because Batman is more relatable. It's not about his friends, or skills, or wealth. It's about his motivation. It's about pushing his limits. Working in an environment he probably shouldn't be, but not seeing it as a handicap. THAT is something that does make him realistic. All of his best storylines challenge that portion of his character.
      Until I saw Man of Steel, Kent was never relatable. I expect him to win the day because of the pedestal he's placed upon.

      Secondly, did I say any of those were what I found relatable to the character? It's his motivation. The rest is just comic book character window dressing. It's the motivation of a person being that dedicated & overcoming adversity to keep moving forward.
      You don't have to be a mirror image of a character to relate to him/her. Now you're just running out of cards in the pick up pile.

      Okay, so its more a quality you want the character to have rather then something a certain version had.
      Saying Batman would generate a plan to immobilize Kent, just to shut it down to talk with Kent seemed counterproductive. Based on what you try to do, I don't believe Batman doesn't do that. AzBats used his fists, Batman has been more cerebral assessing situations rather then making knee jerk reactions. Having said that, I'd hate to read a Batman who tries to talk & understand every thug he comes across.
      That "kinda dickish" is a misconception often made by people who don't understand what he's doing. Sometimes being objective & analytical means you appear emotionless. It's a way of making decisions (some difficult) that aren't logical & well-thought out. There are people who just don't think that way. When that read that characteristic, it's viewed as being cold, heartless, & a dick.

      He forced Kent into assisting him. If Kent even touched Batman, it'd cause the death of someone. The catch at the end...it would've resulted in Batman's death. Batman wouldn't have gambled with anyone else's life to keep Kent from hurting him.

      I'm a huge Batman fan because I am a DC guy. Sure I am shredding him down in your eyes. But really? I am just explaining who he truly is. He is a great and powerful guy. But he isn't what his fans make him out to be. He isn't a guy that can take out the entire justice league. He isn't the perfect man everyone claims him to be. Read a comic from the Superman/Batman line where Batman magically inherits Supermans powers. He takes out the entire justice League and goes nuts on the world doing things he always believed Superman should have done. He became his own worst enemy. And he was taken out by Kal-El and Nightwing because he forgot that Superman gets his powers from the light and not the darkness. Batman is a great character. But he is NOT the GOD that people make him out to be. And its more than sickening to see everyone being so STUPID as to attribute capabilities to Batman, aka a human being, which no human beig could have. Batman is fun but he is utterly ridiculous.

      Who said Batman was a God? Certainly not me. God is just a perception of someone sitting on a pedestal.
      I don't need to read that storyline to see what happens with a power-filled Batman. I've read Venom. It was more then enough to convey why Batman doesn't use steroids or tried to get superpowers.

      We'll, I'd say it's more like Batman borders on the unrealistic... The idea of a human who is in peak possible condition in every category is pretty unlikely but not really impossible...
      Most people can actually achieve a very high level of physical ability if they are willing to train intensely for around a decade to condition their body to the point they could do just about anything at near peak range... It's just most people don't have that kind of time, will, and determination to achieve it...
      Not everyone seeking to do so would also have a extremely high IQ of 192, making them even smarter than Einstein... The highest recorded IQ is like 197, btw... So even that, while rare, isn't impossible to have...
      Mind, someone with such a high IQ and Eidetic Memory could absorb knowledge like a sponge that would take normal people whole lifetimes... Even martial arts would only require him to be shown once and then it would be just a matter of developing muscle memory and it's one of the reasons why he trains constantly...
      Otherwise, I agree with you... Batman isn't really super human but he is an exceptional one that maybe one in a 100 million people could probably possibly become like in real life...
      Stories like the Justice League Unlimited episode "Epilogue" show the acknowledgement of this as they had to stack the deck to ensure a next gen Batman for Batman Beyond...

      Have you ever seen the Batman/Superman "Worlds finest" cartoon where the cartoon batman met the cartoon superman? IMHO that was the BEST example of how bats and Supes work. Superman found out Batman was Bruce Wayne by using his XRAY vision to see through the cowl. Conversely Batman found out that Superman was Clark Kent by Batman slipping a tracker on Superman's cape and tracking him down to his Metropolis Apartment. IMO that was the best meeting the 2 characters could have. But the idea that Batman could just wave his hand and end Superman is just nuts.

      I've quoted enough scenes from that one for you to know I've seen it ;-p
      Justice League - War also did it pretty good as well... Showing Batman tracking Superman before they met and figuring out he's Clark, though you had to figure out a bit that he had done his research as they didn't just show it, while Superman used X-Ray vision again to find out he was Bruce... The minor scuffle they had made it a bit more interesting, showing all of Batman's toys were pretty useless against Superman and Batman immediately knew they were in trouble once Superman got mad once Green Lantern joined the fray and started annoying Superman... Even together Superman was just swatting them all over the place... but Batman knew he wouldn't kill them and was probably still holding back...

      I'd really enjoy reading a Story where both of them go at each other with all they got in an elseworld. Batman with all of his most excentric tech like Omac, Godkilling new genesis tech and Superman with his Fortress' assets like Phantom Zone gun, Alien tech too dangerous to be left out and such.
      Superman with prep time is a pain in the ass, ask Luthor.

yeah it does make sense not to split the movie, because generally splitting movies mechanism are used at the final stage of an franchise and at that point that franchise would have earned respect, love and trust and WB/DC still didn't earn those things so having a 2 part movies sounded like nailing their own coffins, but yeah the fan inside wanted a 2 part movie but at least we'll get a trailer by Feb 6 if at all that rumor was right.

  First, Marvel has been lucky their movies have been entertaining & well received by most moviegoers (I thought GotG was okay & it wound up being their #3 grossing film...what do I know). Sooner or later, even Marvel is going to get a clunker. It's just the odds whenever you play with the house's money.
  Secondly, the DCCU has 1 movie. Just 1; Man of Steel. You need at least 3 points to make a pattern, not 1. Although I have reservations about BvS:DoJ, it's way too premature to say whether it (or the DCCU) will be shit or kickass.
  Finally, I was referencing asking those questions in general. It's like asking Belichick want he thinks of playing a shitty football team. "They're a good team that plays all 3 phases of the game well."

      By the way, got to argue here, Cap is a very good movie to make me sleep. It's predictable and not very charismatic. Ironman3 is hilarious; I'm glad I didn't pay to see this and bought it from a friend. These two are my opinion, but just remember: Lego Ironman, Pepper powerful enough to be on Avengers, and I don't remember anything from Captain more than Slim kid's given supersteroids fights hittler's buddies and freezes so he can be on the franchise crossover.

      Adding "DCCU" to your comparison changes the comparison. There's only 1 to even consider. You list 6 MCU movies & then just state "DC."
      You should have put "Marvel has had more bad movies then DC". That opens the floodgates for all the movies.
      That statement is 100% accurate; mostly because there have been more Marvel movies released then DC movies released.
      Period piece movies like Cap isn't for everyone. Of course it's predictable, we saw Cap's fate at the beginning of the movie.
      I don't follow on IM3; you're glad you didn't pay to see it...but you bought it from a friend. So, then you did pay to see it.

      I still loved Cap The First Avenger when I first saw it and I still do. It's one of the few movies I own on Blu Ray. I think it's incredibly underrated.

      I've never been a big Cap fan. I've always found him to be as bland as I find Kent to be. I thought the movie, however, conveyed the character & his morals pretty well. Especially the scenes with Erskine.

      I admit, my fault for not using DCCU initially. People just can't say what to expect from DCCU after MoS, and that's the point. I know pretty much what to expect from Marvel. GoTG didn't surprise me much, but I take it as the best Marvel movie.
      We might have seen Cap's fate in the beginning, but we didn't see how he got there. We could really say: Hey, now he'll go to the base, or even predict what would be bad for him. By the way, I love period piece movies. Young Victoria, Ride with the Devil for example.
      Again, used a wrong word in the IM3 part. I meant to say I borrowed. English is not my foreign language, sometimes I step on it.

      I have reservations about BvS:DoJ, but I'm the first to say the DCCU can't be judged on just the first movie.
      What do you see from MCU? I disagree that GotG was their best; still put Winter Soldier on top. (Though, I am biased against cosmic comic book characters.). Regardless, I see both those movies being exceptions & not the rule. AoU should go back to the tone established previously.
      I knew the end of TDKR returns before I saw the movie. I looked it up online. Knowing the ending to stories never bothered me. In fact I prefer it. It's the journey, not the end.

It would be pretty damn incredible if the trinity is going to fight Doomsday in this. Even more so if it was shot in IMAX. Just think about it, Snyder got a great eye for visuals and directs massive action scenes very well, not to forget that Fong is a terrific DOP and the mere fact that we'll see Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman in action!! With a possibility of Doomsday too!

My good friend will introduce a little light into your minds. He was able to extract interesting information. His English is maybe weak, but he has a VERY good source. I'll leave this here:

- The working draft of script exists and “it’s doing fine” but…
- some people complain that is “far too long, has too many characters, too many sub-plots, etc.” …
- Other described it as “fuckingly amazing" but they believe that script is “TOO GOOD” and story will be too complex for casual viewer
- At this moment the concept of JL is described as XXI version of “Watchmen”. And when I talk about Watchmen, I talk of this more extensive version: Alan Moore comicbook, not Snyder’s movie. Anyway, WB has bad memories associated with both: comicbook and movie.
- There are also few voices that script in this form is too ambitious for Snyder (which is strange, because best ideas come from him).
- There is no single and main comicbook inspiration for this movie. However, you can feel some "Morrison’s" things (doesn’t specify which), and most of the material (storyline structure, the characteristics of some characters) is based on older stories - set in modern day - not New 52 (weird idea, but apparently works)

- The working title is "Justice League: Brainiac Saga" - reference to the " The Great Darkness Saga" (not Dragon Ball, as probably most would think -.-)

There are some production ‘problems’ with JL movies…
WB wants two-part movie, and at the moment Snyder (and his team) has material for three ~ 2,5h (very expensive and time-consuming) movies - and yes, it's all “just a seven-eight hour” JL origin story - it's a little different way than Marvel and their "Avengers"

Hmm.. Why WB doesn’t want 3 movies, you ask?
Firstly: because they do not want comparison: JL - The Hobbit. In their opinion, idea to share Hobbit into 3 parts was a “failed experiment”.

Secondly: WB doesn’t believe that Snyder would have enough time for so many movies. The main problem is that he wants to direct them ALL ALONE (like “BvS” and “MoS”). There was a proposal to use director of the second plan but Snyder refused.

- So.. script is still rewritten, although the writers believe that it’s too strict to throw something out of it. Practically the story is actually closed. That means: there are the opening points (A, B, C…) and ending points (…X, Y, Z) “engraved in the steel”

- At least two writers working on the script. One of them is Chris Terrio, but he is not the main writer and he don’t work on it from the beginning. The identity of the other writer(writers?), is a mystery.

About story:
- Hal Jordan is a part of the movie. And he is one of the main characters (from the beginning of the movie he is GL) - WB preferred Stewart and they pushed for this vision, but Snyder wanted Jordan to “tell this story”. So he had a choice - 3 versions: young (20-25), middle-aged (30-40) and old (45-55). He chose latter : middle-aged. Snyder's Jordan is slightly darker version of characters than Raynolds. He is described as "" broken” soldier who returned from hell" (Oa is doomed). Jordan is a character who stands in opposition to Superman.

- Some references to Stewart and Gardner will be here (interesting fact: Snyder likes more Gardner)

- "MoS", "BvS", "JL: Part One", "" JL: Part Two "- practically all of these movies present Superman story - his stories are ‘backbone’ of all events.
- The main villain is, of course Coluan - Vril Dox – I heard that this name is in the script (probably we see Milton Fine story inspiration). There is also Luthor and… “others” (?)
- Batman is one of the minor characters (which is incredibly surprising).
- Ted Kord will be one of the “key” characters. There is a chance that we will see him in "Suicide Squad", wich is still writing (and Ayer is not only writer).

- If Marvel has MCU - Marvel Universe Ciniematic,
DC should be called DCCMU -DC Cinematic MultiUniverse (and in any case, it is not about connecting tv series and movies!)
-We all know main theme of the MCU: infinity stones, but there will be no main theme of the DCCMU - instead a large weight will be placed on: concept of alternative dimensions (multiuniverse: Earth 1,2,3,4…), metahumans and cosmic wars

- “Shazam” will be set on a different Earth.

- Themyscira is a ‘bridge’ between two (very different) alternative worlds. The first is the world of "old gods", the second is the world of humans.

- "BvS" and "WW" give hints, why WW not help Superman in "MoS". But they don’t say it directly.
- In the "JL" will be explained (little) what happens with Green Lantern Corps and why
they don’t react when Zod attack our planet.
- Sinestro is still Hal Jordan mentor.

You probably don’t take in but ..
Snyder and Goyer parallel worked on "BvS" and "JL" in 2013. And after Comic-con in 2013 everything was fine and then... booom. There appeared conflict between them, which ended… yeah Goyer has been kicked out.

Conflict concerned, about different approach to movie universe and characters. For example: Snyder wanted another (better) writer to "JL". He hired someone and gave him the material prepared jointly with Goyer. Goyer was very disappointed and pissed off when studio told him that he will be no longer working on JL. There were also different vision for Luthor. In the first draft he was much older (45-55). Snyder claimed that Goyer version of characters is "fucking boring" and not inspiring. He is no challenge for Superman. He also thought that Goyer tried too hard humanize Luthor. In Terrio version – Luthor is pure evil. He has the motivation, goals, rich personality, he is not shallow, but he is still pure evil.

Affleck supported Snyder.

When Goyer left, Snyder wanted guy from JL (this whom he hired) to rewrote "BvS". Affleck had a different idea. Well you know: Chris Terrio.

Terrio accepted the offer. He got a box of comics, which served as material for "BvS" and began to research and education. He is not a "comic book guy” so he put in it a lot of work. At the beginning Terrio had only to rewrite Goyer’s script. Later, there was mass production problem (you even don’t realize what kind..). Studio decided to delay production and premiere. Terrio got more time and wrote a new script from scratch. What is more, he was all the time in Detroit and working on revisions, when Snyder filmed the movie.

BvS

In “BvS” we have:
- "Bruce Wayne" (quotes is intentional) as a metaphysical mask under which hides the true character: Batman. Because – “Bruce Wayne died as a child with his parents”, he uses higher tone of voice (Affleck’s standard voice). Described as cockscomb and asshole, but still charming.
- Batman – without costume: schizophrenic personality brought to life, when Bruce's parents dead, incredibly intelligent but emotionally unstable, more aggressive than previous versions, he has some mental problems (sometimes he talks to dead father), uses a lower and deeper tone of voice.
- Batman in costume, he uses voice modulator .

Main characters: Superman> Batman> Luthor.
Superman has more screen time, but Luthor has more dialogue / and literally a few interesting monologues.

Final sequences BvS: Batman vs Superman fight –then----> Batman, Superman, WW vs Luthor drones (project "Metallo" reference)

Batman and Superman fight is not finished, it’s interrupted by Luthor.

When they fight Batman cheats (a looooot) and Superman is weakened. Alfred is an important character. Kryptonite will be here (kinda.. Someone told me that: “Snyder is a bastard, creative, but still bastard, and comic book fanatics probably will be cry again”)

Luthor is described as a mix of evil megalomaniac version of Gates / Jobs and modern incarnation of Leonardo da Vinci. Generally he is really Luthor from comics (only in the Eisenberg body)
Yep. We'll get a very fast talking Luthor.. but this is not typical Eisenberg acting. He uses here a different accent and tone of voice. Apparently, everything fits together perfectly.
Lex Luthor inspiration? Mainly Morrison (“All Star Superman” as a Terrio bible for the character), Superman: Birthright and Lex Luthor: Man of Steel (but much better written and routed).

WW has an important role, but she doesn’t have a lot of time here.

This is not second "IM2" or "TASM2", but also not second "TDK" or "Avengers". It's just something “different”. Quite unique.

Subtitle: "Dawn of Justice" is very misleading. WW is more on the third plan, Aquaman and Cyborg are ‘extras’. “BvS” is mainly “MoS” sequel and then a movie about Batman and Superman.

There was a crazy idea .. Of course Snyder’s: not convert "BvS" to 3D, and spent money to short (25-30 minutes) animated “MoS” prequel - you know: MORE KRYPTON, ZOD, FAORA, JOR-EL, ROBOTS... and add this to extended "MoS” edition. (like “Tales of the Black Freighter” to "Watchmen")

Superman's powers will be presented similarly, but in visual terms “BvS” looks completely different than "MoS".

Interestingly, this still doesn’t look like a typical Snyder’s movie - cinematography, maybe a bit like Watchmen, but still is not the same.

The tone of the movie is a bit different than "MoS". Still dark, gritty, even more realistic(?), but there is something "new" you never watched yet.

After the first edit - "BvS" has ~ 3,5 hours runtime.

A lot of action scenes (as in every Snyder movie), but smarter and more creatively shot. Still less than in the "MoS", but better and more balanced. Batman and Superman fight was the longest filmed sequence. Tons of practical effects. Much more than in the fight "Superman vs Faora" in Smallville.

About DCCMU…

- WB has an interesting list of directors. Those more familiar, and those less (several nonames).

- Alfonso Cuaron was considered for "Aquaman" movie, but he refused.

- Was a chance to "Suicide Squad" in the category R. However, this idea was abandoned.

- "Flash" will be smaller (120-150 million) and lighter WB/DC movie. Spike Jonez was one of the candidates. Generally WB want this type of director.

- The plan that was announced is very flexible, at any time may change- in fact, it's a little changed now.

- WB has an idea for two movies about "GL". One about Jordan (main character) and Stewart - more serious and darker - Described as a movie about “obsession and fear”. The second of "Green Lantern Corps" with Gardner as a leading figure .

- WB has interesting candidate to first movie (placed between "JL: Part one" and "JL: Part two"). But this director is type of man... Eh.. it is difficult to work with him. He is not “yes man”. His previous collaborations with big studio ended badly. But again he fits and he is interested.

- Verbinski and Bird were the main candidates for "Shazam". But I think they both refused.

- "JLD" got green-light. Del Toro probably only produce, and movie will be direct by someone else.

- First concept art for JL, are created. Snyder oversees:

Several variants of the Flash costume - most have completely hidden face.

They also want to cover the majority of Jordan's face, because “comic mask is impractical and doesn’t hide his identity”

Green Lantern structures = jaw-dropping

And completely unrelated news. I've heard that, despite the problems, FF reboot is better than some people think. Human Torch, Thing and Dr. Doom crush balls!

      That's a really interesting take on the psychology of Batman, i mean it can show how deeply a person can transform after seeing his parents being murdered right in front of his eyes. that sounded realistic to me. frankly speaking i myself i talk to my expired father sometimes (but mentally i am totally fine) so i can relate to that characteristic trait.

    yeah i really like it especially that, this isn't IM2, TASM2, or even TDK or Avengers but something really unique and different, even Ben Affleck said that same in an interview, i remember him saying "The script is really unique and smart to the genre" and having no secondary villain but a bunch of robots/drone is a brilliant idea because there isn't a need to dedicate screen time into developing that secondary villain, especially in a jam packed movie like this.

The only thing that i don't understand with this piece of information is, if JL part 1 and 2 are supposed to be dealing with the same story and villain, then what does Flash, Aquaman and Shazam coming between these two JL movies will be dealing with, is it going to be origin stories, well i would hate if it turned out to be origin stories (apart from Shazam) but if it isn't origin stories then what exactly forces the characters to go on solo adventures in between an alien invasion. This thing sounds confusing.

The only thing that i didn't like in this information is "batman is minor character in Justice League" for god's sake he is their ultimate strategist/tactician who also provides them with all the necessary technology and resources but yeah on the battlefield he really cannot do much against super powered threats but when Batman is paired with a battle armor he can kick some serious ass even out of aliens and meta humans.

3 things after reading all of that.
1. Who ever created this put a lot of freaken effort into it.. seriously.
2. I don't think it's real but it's interesting how they mention that Kord has a very important role in the movie and the producer on Arrow said that DC did not allow them to use Kord because DC had bigger plans for him.. that caught my attention.
3. I would have taken it with a grain of salt but after reading that Alfred has an important role in the movie I completely went from being skeptical about this.. to not believing this at all. Irons already said his role is very small.

    well let's just consider other 2 part movies till now, Hobbit's, Harry Potter, Twilight, Matrix and even Avengers are going to do it, well those 2 part movies were shot back to back on joint production and were done only for the concluding final piece of the relative franchise in hand, translation those studio's gained the trust, respect and love from their audience to an extent that they would be fine even if they got a story split in half but DCCU on the other hand is just going to start and frankly speaking they haven't earned the trust or respect of the masses to an extent to warrant a split movie, so if the first one fails to impress even the second will bomb and the future of the franchise will be in question so it's better not to go with split the movie into 2 part at the start. it's a very risky investment for a starting stage, i hope you got my point.
