Watch 4 clips from the mid-season premiere 'Gotham' episode – "Rogues' Gallery" (video)

FOX has released four clips from the January 5th mid-season premiere episode of Gotham, titled "Rogues' Gallery". Check them out below along with a full synopsis.

Det. Gordon’s assignment at Arkham Asylum gets off to a rocky start when the murder of a guard ignites an investigation, leading him to meet Dr. Leslie Thompkins (guest star Morena Baccarin, “Homeland”). Meanwhile, Cobblepot continues to build his army in the all-new “Rogues’ Gallery” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Jan. 5 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Detective Harvey Bullock wastes no time ruffling feathers in Gotham.

Oswald Cobblepot pleads for Det. Bullock's help from behind bars.

Don Maroni is none too pleased with Oswald Cobblepot's recent business decisions.

Selina Kyle makes a surprising discovery on the streets of Gotham.

I'm sure they'd love as many as FOX will buy. They have said that they hope to have a very successful series, and have David Mazouz suit up as Batman in the very last episode.

There's a lot they can do. They've said they have 7 seasons planned for sure, and are thinking about going into Batman after that which could be Year One for Batman when Bruce Wayne is 19 years old. He's 12 years old right now. To keep things different they can build up the gangster world, and then develop a lot with Bruce Wayne. He's a child prodigy with an IQ of 190 and an eidetic memory, so he should get accepted into some expensive college universities pretty soon in a couple years. He would have the work sent to him, and never go to classes, because he's always moving around. He would go on a pilgrimage and travel around the world, but also be at Gotham a lot. They can show his scientific inventive nature, and his skills in the science of business and inventions. He could get into different aspects of running Wayne Enterprises. I've seen a storyline where he learns from Zatanna and her father. Alfred can give him some excellent fighting training, maybe Selina Kyle too for street skills. He has great training from Alfred, but he can also go learn with a Shaolin monk with advanced chi skills as he goes around the world. Alfred from what I've read was apart of the Royal Marines from Europe. Bruce Wayne may play dress up like he's homeless to get inside on a slave trade in town, or he could do that when he's older. So he can learn criminal life in the show. For a couple years before he becomes Batman it can mature to Ra's mentoring him, for him to join the League of Assassins. This is where he learns skills without any body armor. He pays Ra's Al Ghul a lot, and Ra's sees this as different than what he normally does. Ra's wants Bruce Wayne to marry his favorite daughter Talia Al Ghul. Then in the Batman series they can get into Dick Grayson Robin, The Sacred Order of Saint Dumas, Jean-Paul Valley as Azrael and Azbat with the mysterious death of his father, Bane, and then Ra's watched as Bruce Wayne left the League of Assassins Bruce Wayne still has access to members because he has a friendship with them such as the assassin Shiva, and Ra's awaits as Bruce Wayne does more self growth to enter later on several years down the line to figure himself out, conquer his demons, and make a lot of mistakes he has to correct. Ra's would eventually mentor Bane. Bane can come in when Batman has fought a lot of his foes and put them in Arkhum Asylum, only for Bane to release them to play a game of Chess with Batman for a year, and Batman has to face everyone he's put away to put them back in there. It will be a good opportunity when they get to Batman to also build up the other famous Batman villains, and there's so many seasons to get so much done. It could go for atleast 7 more seasons, after the first 7 seasons with Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne sort of creates Joker. Two-Face develops. Joker and Penguin with Riddler play lots of games, and they get Two-Face to join them. Rupert Thorne is another character. There's a lot they can do going into Batman. Selina Kyle becomes Catwoman, and she is still friends with Bruce Wayne but they have their problems because Selina Kyle still does crime. She exchanges information with Bruce Wayne, and Bruce Wayne knows a few people that do crime, he's good friends with, and they help to keep him inside of the crime world because majorly bad stuff goes down. Catwoman can team up with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn sometimes. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are a lot more deadly when Selina Kyle isn't around for their particular efforts, as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy do a lot of serial killing. Poison Ivy is the most recurrent as far as killing goes. Harley Quinn does it more for the fun of the game, where it's not all killing. Catwoman doesn't kill, and they're in a better mind state when she's around, to where they don't think about killing when she's paired with them but they do intelligent sophisticated crimes in robbery. They could work their way to Jason Todd, Joker with Laughing Fish and middle eastern terrorism, Black Mask, and Red Hood.

I think that's the only way you can do it without taking the kid out of the series. I don't believe they'd go all Arrow and film on many different places for Bruce to train.

    I know you're jesting here, but I've never cared for that reasoning to like Gotham. That would imply because you're a huge fan of the character, you have to like everything. That means the 60s camp, the daylight appearances from the old days, the light-heartedness of Brave & the Bold cartoon, Morrison's run, etc. Those all aspects of the character's history I'm not a fan of.
    I don't hate Gotham, but I don't watch the show. The premise never seemed interesting to me & I don't have the time to invest into a weekly show for a full season.

      Yea I'm just messing around. No you're right you don't have to like everything just because it's batman. I don't mind the show. I find it interesting but like anything "comic-book-ee" coming thru tv or cinema....it has its flaws

Not really. Every superhero has a Rogues gallery. And Batman's in probably the most iconic out of all of them. Go run around the earth or something.

      TBH I was only making a joke because I noticed that Flash's next episode is called "Revenge of the Rogues"... I thought it would be obvious that I didn't REALLY believe this had anything to do with The Flash or its fandom, it was a JOKE, come on xD

      Hey, you can like whatever you like as long as you really like it. Let's say that's my motto ;) I don't consider myself a part of some DC fandom actually, even though I love the books. But then again, I read almost nothing that preceeds New 52 reboot, so I'm a disgrace to the fandom Ii guess ;)

I bet it happens sooner.

And I'm in the "love this show" camp. Maybe it helps that I like the whole Tim Burton - meets - Dashiell Hammett vibe they're going for, and that I'm perfectly willing to let this show be this show and not worry about what kind of world Batman will find after it ends.

If they don't jump up in time a little bit (assuming they get granted a new season pending success of prior) we may not see Bruce as a late teenager or young adult donning the cape and cowl!!!! I also want to see some episodes where he goes out in normal all black clothes and mask with a couple of gadgets and fight criminals like we would if he was wearing the suit, kinda show an origin to how he comes up with the batman suit like Nolan did and mask of the phantasm
