YouTube users Alex Luthor and MR8866 created a trailer for the Marvel vs. DC movie that everyone wants to see, but that will probably never happen. The fan-made trailer has gone viral, racking up nearly 2 million views in less than two days.

The trailer above pieces footage from Marvel and DC movies, TV shows, and even video games, to create the illusion that these superheroes are all fighting.

      I love when he does that. I mean, I agree about the infinity stones. I am a DC fan but I don't see anything beating the stones but I love how they bash DC for having overpowered characters and then worship Marvel for having over powered characters... THAT LOGIC!!!

      It's perfectly OK for villains to be overpowered because they pose a challenge to the heroes. However when a hero has a ton of superpowers, it makes for uninteresting and boring stories. You don't see people complaining about the Anti-Monitor being overpowered; people only say that against the more ridiculously strong versions of Superman and others like him.

        Even those heroes have limitations; SS is not a hero that goes around saving people and pulling cats from trees because he's bound to the will of Galactus. That's why you don't see many SS books selling for Marvel. Same for Dr. Strange; he's pretty much exclusive to the mystic world. And unlike Superman, Thor doesn't have xray and laser vision; his power depends on possession of his hammer, which he often loses.

        That's Rune King Thor, not Thor proper. He only held those powers briefly, whereas Superman always has super speed, super strength, heat vision, x-ray, etc.

        Adding to what people already said about the Hulk, as far as Thor is concerned, I never said he's completely powerless without Mjolnir; all I said is that his powers (lightning manipulation, flight, etc) depend on the hammer, and that's fact.

    I'm replying to my post because I feel like I'm replying to most comments down here.
    See, the reason why this 'overpowered makes unrelatable' is ridiculous and wrong is because it's just not true.
    Relating, as it suggests, happens in fiction when you can relate to a character's emotional and environmental state. That does not mean it's because he's grounded, realistically or down to earth.
    Relating doesn't happen when you see elements of yourself in fiction, but when the work is able to make you feel empathy, empathy that relates the character's core something you can understand.
    My parents were never shot and killed, but I can relate to this saddening, desperate feeling. My dad, thankfully is still alive and well, but I can relate to Clark's sadness pretty much because I can feel and understand this fear of someday loosing him and not be able to do something about it.
    You want to know what makes me relate to Superman? The simple truth that he'll always try to do good, to smile to people, to not give up on what's worth. As much as I relate to this, not all stories have been crafted enough to showcase this things in a way that makes this ideals have reasons and meanings to the characters in a way that a reader or watcher can understand. Some stories even go that route to make it just about a brawling contest, but the big thing is: RELATING IS NOT ABOUT THE BRAWLING.
    I'm using Superman as an example because he's the one that mostly is said to be unrelatable. Again, his story is not about a brawl. This is just popcorn. It's good, it's awesome to see this amazing action sequences, but it's not about it.
    In Miller's DKR for example: The fight is good and all, but what's easy to relate here is that this retired man, full of regrets and unfinished busyness has played his final card to be free from all of his regrets. This is the final fight.
    In Final Crisis, when Superman returns with the Miracle Machine, what is awesome about it is not that they managed to make a miracle machine and sing the Lantern's Verse for all monitors to see. It is that they did manage to not give up until things were good again. Until evil didn't escape their sight.
    Dr. Manhattan is relatable pretty much because Moore shows us why he can't relate. Why he's so detached from everything. Moore does a great job showing us the character's perspective, why he cares (or doesn't). He makes it so that we can see and understand that a character with this behavior goes through this and that, he'll act like this and feel like that.
    This is relating to a character. Understanding what he's about enough that even if he behaves completely different than you normally does, you can still understand his feelings and behaviors. Powers have NOTHING to do with it.

      Well you can't say what people feel about Superman is not true if that's how they feel. Superman was depowered in the New 52 precisely for that reason.

        I'm not saying it's not true. You can not like something for being in a way. But the fact that he has over the top powers is not something that makes him unrelatable, it makes him less of a brawling type.
        I can point DragonBall here. People relate to Goku even though he, on their words, can blow up planets, and like Superman, has a physical challenge when a foe as big as him appears.
        The best Superman stories are not those he showcases his powers but those where he's challenged to decide how to use them. Allstars, Absolute Justice, Birthright... In all of these he wasn't mainly physically challenged, but morally and psychologically.
        On another note, I don't really see where he was depowered. In the self tittled series. He's even lifting as much as Allstars Superman in full power:

        I just read on a DC message board that he was stronger, but slower and less durable.
        I don't want to start an argument this week; all I say is that Superman is the quintessential superhero, and that's what makes him not a very complex character. He's got every superpower you could possibly dream of, as well as being a goody two shoes; ie, perfect in every way. I don't remember any event in Superman's history where he's made a mistake with any serious impact to anything other than disposable or peripheral characters, so every time he has a "moral choice" to make, you almost know it'll be the perfect call. People find that boring because there's no real tension from a character that's perfect already.

        I'll tell you one consequence that was really bad for me: Superman, having to let the child he adopted go back to the torture of the Phantom Zone to save the world. This started a chain of events that only lead to Chris' death, rebirth and death again.
        I'm not trying to be rude or all-knowing, but I wonder how much you actually read of Superman. Simply because most people don't know his good material and have this common sense that he's a goody two shoes who's so perfect for all he does.

        If a character's being so good at something is something that makes him unrelatable, you can't relate to Batman who's the world's greatest detective and is always prepared for the worse. This is common belief, but then again, this proved contrary on so many occasions-- and it was a great thing. Like in Death of the Family when he goes to the Arkham Asylum prepared for everything but the Joker STILL manages to Win.

        I'm not here claiming I'm a Superman expert, but I'm pretty much aware of major events over the character's history. Having said that, your example of Superman making a mistake with major consequences doesn't resonate a lot; you're talking about a third/fourth string character that's not really important in the grand Superman lore. It's not like his death would be as significant or impactful to the character as Gwen Stacy dying after being Spiderman's girlfriend for so long, or Iron Man having a character flaw that leads to people dying. And even if this character was semi important, I think most people would say allowing one death to save millions is a worn out cliche and pretty safe choice, which means this isn't really a "mistake"; just a superficially tough choice but really just a hero trope that's been done many times before.

        The death of Chris Kent is part of the key events that ended the pre-new52 universe's Superman story, as was the death of Pa-kent, Supergirl in Crisis of Infinite Earths or Superman from earth2.
        I won't be coming back to this thread pretty much because you are merelly just arguing for arguing even though you yourself admit you don't know more than major events (As I presume you read it on some database, like before).
        I'd pick up Superman's one page of helping Regan over Gwen's death anyday, but that's me.

  I understand that is your opinion, which is a WAY overused word nowadays, but nobody goes in to a superhesuperhero movie expecting to relate to the superhero. They go in expecting to see fantastical powers and good overcoming evil. Plus a good story and an awesome spectical. It's just that simple.

    Actually, that's not completely true. I've never cared for Kent until Man of Steel. The first 2/3rds of him trying to find his place in the world & his origins humanized him. That was way more interesting then the last 1/3rd of smash & bash.
    Aside from Batman (& Lex) I've never really found the other DC characters all that interesting, aside from a story or two (before these accusations, there's only 2 characters in Marvel I feel the same about). I've always preferred characters that have something relatable then characters that have all this power.

      "The last 1/3rd of smash & bash" correspond to the birth of Superman. The writer of that film was smart enough to show us the birth of the myth through the action, and not just through a brief visit to the Fortress of Solitude and subsequent flight with solemn background music.
      Until he kills Zod, Superman is not Superman but Clark Kent dressed in an alien suit.

        I disagree; the mythos starts & ends with Clark Kent. What makes him a "super man" is the man he his, not the powers he displays. In the 1978 movie, when did Lois dub him "Superman"? Was it after he displayed his powers saving her? Nope. It was following the interview getting insight into the man.
        I don't reference the character as Superman, rather as Kent. It's who he really is.
        The last 1/3rd of MoS was just the Michael Bay version of what the character can do.

        Maybe I have not explained well, but I've never tried to say that Superman is born from the exposure of his powers. The powers of Superman and the powers of Clark Kent with Kryptonian clothes are exactly the same.
        It is the moral transformation and the fact that he conceive his role in the world in all its scale which gives rise to the myth. And it is with the death of Zod, his gaze vacuum and his subsequent heart-rending shout the moment that the birth takes place.
        If you say that that part of the film "was just the Michael Bay version of what the character can do," then you have placed yourself in the simple surface of blows and debris, but the film is a bit more complex and has more readings than that.

        And it's the mass destruction through repetitive fighting that I reference as Michael Bay-ish. The story could've used more post-death scenes to feel the impact for Kent moving forward.

        i totally agree. coulda lost a solid 30-40 minutes off the action stuff and had a better story for it. no one loves stuff blowing up more than i do, but maybe i'm one of those freaks who comes for the story, not the spectacle.
        and let's face it: spectacle is a dime a dozen these days. i like Supes in action, but i also like clark kent as a person and MoS was all out of balance for me personally.

        Clark never faced anyone to death before the battle against the Kryptonians; he never had to decide whether to save humanity or save his own race; and he never before had faced a being who was incapable of doing good (the guiding principle of the house of El). Before that battle he never had to make many sacrifices. All of that affects his moral code, and his way of seeing the world and confront him.

        I'd put the moments of Jonathan's death, Kent not fighting back against a bully, & moreso, the scene where Jonathan & Kent talked about the consequences of uses his abilities above those you listed. Without those moments from his youth, the ones you mention lack depth.

      Yeah, I guess that I should have said the vast majority of movie goers (including the general audience and the comic book reader/movie lovers) go to see superhero movies for the spectacle and to see the awesome powers on display. Why do you think they make a ridiculous amount of money? The spectacle in the trailers and TV spots, along with name recognition are what sell these movies. Then when all the movie goers see the flick, they get what they were after in the first place, visual stimulation and a heckuva good time. That's why the Transformers movies do so well at the BO, because of the visual spectacle and a fun time. How many people go in to movies like that saying "forget the visual affects, I want a great story and nothing else". Hardly anyone. Same goes for superhero movies. I, for one, go to see superhero movies for story and the spectacle. However, sometimes, the story turns out to be not so good, but at least I had a fun watching it.

        I see more of your point, but I think there's a difference between what the Transformers are & what comic book movies are. I also believe it's age based. ASM2 looked to be more geared to the Twilight/Hunger Games teen/early 20s bracket. I haven't seen any of those movies, but I have heard visually ASM2 was great, storywise, it sucked.
        The movie made money, but they're looking to fix the franchise. Sure, I've heard the same reviews for the Transformers franchise & Avatar; both are box office successes. Are those characters supposed to be relatable?
        I enjoy the old school action movies the Expendables franchise is using. I don't watch them for plots or character relatibility, but the Stars & action. Those movies have varying success.

    I think you'll find just as many people were raised on a farm as there are raised into wealth...so it's more about relating to Batman being a human motivated to succeed & not relying on powers or fancy jewelry.
    I wasn't raised into wealth (actually I grew up in a very rural area), but I always found Batman to be more relatable then Kent.

      Batman doesn't succeed because of his motivation, he succeeds because he has an infinite amount of money. You can't get a Batmobile, gadgets, and absurdly abundant knowledge in chemistry, engineering, and martial arts without being filthy rich.
      And even though he's human, writers give him completely unrealistic superhuman feats like bench pressing thousands of pounds, beating the Flash by only turning down the thermastat, or taking down the Hulk with a kick.
      That's not to say I find Batman unrelateable (I wouldn't have dozens of Batman trades if that were the case). I just think it's absurd to call Batman more relateable just because he's human when there are humans like GL, Daredevil, and Flash who don't rely on the fancy power called money.

        Out of those, I've only bothered to read Hush (most of which I try to block from my memory.) Morrison's run is when I stopped reading the character. His interpretation of the character wasn't a version I cared for.

        Well to be fair Matt was born in poverty. He had to earn his Law license and work twice as hard as everyone else. I relate to Murdock so much and he truly inspires me more than any other character even Wolverine or Batman. But some people find other characters more inspiring and that's okay.   Actually I love Superman and i feel related to him based on his values, about Batman is because he has no superpowers and uses his wit to defeat enemies and brute force of course, but at the end of the day i feel like if there's a character trait you will feel related to it, therefore, the superhero is admired for us. plus the "action superpowers aspect" doesn't hurt either. love people who doesn't agree with me with good arguments instead of just saying, your comment is dumb, stupid or ridiculous. and yes nobody goes to watch thor or flash with the purpose of feeling related to it, It´s the fun of it. can't wait for Flash, suicide Squad, Black Panther and Captain Marvel.

      I see a lot of focus on this graphic about his ability to perceive events in less than an attosecond, but the only relevant part is his ability to "run faster than time", which from a logical standpoint is a pretty absurd statement to make, even for a sci-fi works. It's the equivalent of using "infinity" to describe a quantifiable quality like strength.

      That's not really a good measuring stick, there wasn't any character development on that end. It's presumable as the DCCU progresses, he'll have weaknesses.
      Regardless, the source material (which is what I always refer to) has weaknesses to include magic, Kryptonite, his power level reduces, exposure to red sun solar rays, to name the more common weaknesses.

Taken to the extreme, yes. Superman can move a galaxy if he wants to. But of course, none of us wants to see that. The fight would have to be balanced out by all sorts of factors.

OK I have to admit, this trailer is epic.

How would a solo Curry or solo Stone destroy Marvel? I completely disagree with the notion that anyone of those characters alone can destroy Marvel (well, maybe Batman), but I find the idea of Curry or Stone could sounds silly.

  I don't mean to go gaga over Marvel here but you clearly don't know the limitless power of Galactus or Thanos (with his infinity gauntlet) can decimate galaxies. Batman may have been fried to death once by Darkseid's omega beams, but if Thanos were to unleash his power, you wont even find Batman's remains and the JLA would be in a very serious condition even Superman and Wonder Woman would be in a fix.
  Even a Superman vs Silver Surfer fight would be more evenly poised.
  Look I'm by no means a Marvel fan but Marvel has got some really powerful titans up their sleeves.

  When the Hell has Aquaman ever been as strong as Superman?? Did he get an upgrade in the New 52 that I am not aware of because last I checked his strongest is about 50-75 tons, while Superman is 6.6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons...sun depleted. Aquaman is badass but he is NOT as strong as Superman and I don't wana go all gaga on Marvel cause I know it bothers you guys but I can list quite a few Marvel characters that can beat him, and by quite a few I mean a LOT

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I would not want to see a Marvel/DC movie. It would be a freaking mess. Remember when they did the Marvel/DC crossover in comics? It was a joke! And no one cares about it today?
So how about they take they 350 million dollars that would go to this movie and make a Martian Manhuntet movie, or a movie based off "The Question"?
I wouldn't want this movie to be made. Ton of other cool stories to tell.

        Both have definitive morals they believe in & don't break. Essentially, both are Boy Scouts.
        Both have similar personalities; Rogers stem from the Depression Era, Kent's from growing up on a Midwestern farm.
        Both have been viewed as symbols for hope & an ideal for others to strive for.
        That's just looking at the characters from a distance. I'm sure you could look at the impacts of their "deaths," both were granted powers by external factors (those factors have also altered their powers & appearances over the years as well), even what they've done with their alter egos over the years.

        They are nowhere similar. One's an extraterrestrial born with Herculean which is only augmented in presence of sunlight while the other is an artificially created super soldier with strength and stamina near average human threshold but nowhere as comparable to Superman.
        Your second paragraph doesn't make sense. We can't start grouping heroes based on personalities.
        One works for S.H.I.E.L.D., viewed as an agent and a decorated soldier, the other is viewed as a godlike symbol of peace and goodwill.

        Their power levels, power types, & origins are different, but those aren't what I'm considering.
        The paragraph referencing personalities is the "aw shucks" type of personality. To some extent, both are old school, men out of time. How many other characters are you able to lump into that group? Hell, how many people do you know like that in your life?
        You proved one of my points; both were augmented by external factors.
        Rogers hasn't always worked for SHIELD, he even set up a hotline for people to call when they needed help. In some stories, Kent has worked for the government.

        Well I don't read Cap Am but yes Superman was working under government in The Dark Knight Returns but that's not canon. Superman has an alter ego, a secret identity and is largely a journalist. Rogers doesn't keep a secret identity I believe.
        I said Superman's powers were intrinsic, you just needed some sunlight, not injecting super soldier serum to a weakling body as Captain America, plus Superman's powers can be lowered by Kryptonite or Red Sun but Cap's powers are not subject to change under any external duress. Therein lies the difference.

        I don't read Rogers (or Kent), but I do know up until about 15 yrs ago, he maintained a secret identity.
        Serum injection, absorbing solar rays. Your body can inhale, be injected, or absorb (just look at the different ways to get high). The serum in Rogers' body has been nullified in the past as well. Not by a "kryptonite", but it's happened.
        And as I said previously, they are "similar", not the "same." There are several differences, but space-filler-wise, they serve the same purpose in their respective universes.

        I've got a couple buddies who've been reading Kent for decades. Their biggest complaint has always been that few writers really know how to write the character. There seems to be an issue if he's extremely powerful because people can relate to him. There seems to be an issue if they greatly reduce his power levels because they he seems too weak.
        You're right, Kent just can't win.

        I tend to agree with you most of the time but I'm going to have to disagree on this one. Superman is my favorite super hero of all time and I've had several debates regarding fictional comic book fights. Mostly Superman v Batman and Superman v Thor. I continue to believe that Superman is stronger and can't be beaten by any Marvel hero. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not bashing Marvel in any way. Truth is, DC's power levels for their Earth heroes are way stronger than Marvel's. Also, Superman was always meant to be.. well, SUPERman.
        Anyways, I'm just rambling now. Point of my comment is, the only logical argument Marvel fans hang on to is Thor's hammer. It's imbued with magic and Superman is vulnerable to magic. I still think it's not enough because Thor is not fast enough to even hit him with the hammer. Regardless, if you show Superman straight up stopping Thor's hammer with his bare hands and completely negating the "Thor's magic hammer is why Thor would win" argument (The only argument they actually have).. then yes, Marvel fans would be upset. "Clawing their hairs out" is a bit extreme, but they would certainly be upset.

        I'm going to have to disagree. I'd have Kent vs. Hulk. The madder Hulk gets, the stronger he gets; regardless of venue. Take Kent out of the solar rays & his body won't recharge, weakening him.
        Following his "death," Kent's body needed months to recharge & regenerate. Following Infinite Crisis, Kent's body needed a One Year Later to recharge.
        I still don't believe anyone would "claw their hair out." Kent's ability to grab & repel Thor's hammer has to do with being worthy, not his powers. Kent isn't a "super man" because of his powers, but because of how he was raised.

        Actually I just said that I don't think Marvel fans would be happy. I never said "clawing their hairs out". I actually said that was exaggerating.
        Also, the Hulk v Superman is another topic completely and one I don't agree with. First of all, don't remove the solar energy. That's just changing the battlefield so that The Hulk has an advantage. Truth is, Superman is extremely durable under a yellow sun if not completely invulnerable. Doomsday is just as durable as Hulk. If Superman was able to beat him then I doubt he can't beat Hulk before tiring out. Hulk gets stronger the angrier he gets but he doesn't get "more durable". His regenerative factor is equally matched by Superman's under a yellow sun. Also, this isn't a Superman's physical strength v Hulk's physical strength fight. It's a fight involving all of their powers.
        Superman isn't Thor or Namor. He is physically stronger than both of them. He has moved planets. His punches would take a toll on Hulk eventually just as Hulks would take a toll on him eventually. Difference is.. Superman has heat vision, frost breath and the main deciding factor. He is way faster than the Hulk. Superman may have lost to Doomsday but it was just for the sake of the story arc. In a "real" (it's all fiction obviously) fight that isn't tied down to a specific story arc, writer preference or fan votes.. Superman could just punch Hulk with super speed and dodge the majority of his punches. My bet is on Hulk tiring out first. Just my opinion though. I do welcome reasonable arguments, you know I do. I'm not a blind fan boy but most of the scenarios that involve Hulk winning revolve around mediocre arguments. I mean, I can throw out some mediocre arguments as well. Do people know that if we wanted a boring yet accurate fight.. Superman could just throw Hulk into space and sit back while he continuously blasts him with his lasers. Or just fly up and super speed punch Hulk and fly all the way up to rinse and repeat. Hulk is too slow.
        Again, It's all subjective so there is no right answer. I know I won't change your mind just as you won't change mine so I do find it pointless to continue this debate. I respect your opinion but I firmly believe that neither Thor or Hulk could beat Superman.

        Doomsday was just a McGuffin, I'm no Banner fan, but he's way more then that. If Kent's heat vision or frost breath meant a hill of beans, Thunderbolt Ross could've taken care of Banner years ago.
        In all the Banner stories I've read (admittingly its only 2-3), I was never left under the impression he was as slow as he was stupid. Not faster then a speeding bullet, but certainly not sluggish. Again, that would've been something Ross couldve exploited.
        As always, these "character A verses character B" discussions are always pointless. One character's abilities always gets inflated & the other gets underestimated; depending one which character each person prefers. That gets intensified when 1 of the characters is a favorite.
        And ultimately, the victor is always determined by the writer & story being told.

        Exactly. I didn't mean Hulk was sluggish, just completely slow compared to Superman. Superman is nearly a fast as The Flash. Regardless, you are correct. These debates are pointless due to the fact that writers can easily manipulate these fights for a specific story line.

I'm not sure if its "News" exactly but DC Comics put up this article today. The reason I'd say its news at all is because in it they say that all 10 of the films announced will take place in the same universe, which may put an end to the curiosity of whether Shazam will be in the DCCU or not :)

  I really hope that Ezra plays Wally West (favorite Flash BTW). I find it odd that they haven't revealed which Flash he is playing. Every other character revealed, we know except for him. Also, Hunter Zolomon is a better villain for a movie. His story can be interwoven through the narrative without exposition.
