Report: Doomsday is in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', and so is this Batman villain

Ever since Jesse Eisenberg was cast as Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans have wondered if another villain would appear as well. Doomsday has been heavily rumored and now Badass Digest is confirming that he's in the movie. But the site also reports that a Batman villain will have a cameo.

Badass Digest says that KGBeast, a Batman villain introduced in 1988's classic "Ten Nights of the Beast" storyline, will have a small role in the movie. Batman News can confirm this report. Sources told me early last month that the name Anatoli Knyazev (KGBeast's alter ego) was on a trailer in Chicago. They were filming in a subway and Callan Mulvey was spotted dressed in black with a tattoo on the back of his neck, doing things that a bad guy would do. It's possible that Callan Mulvey is KGBeast in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but that's just speculation based on all of the information that I received.

And here's where things get really interesting, a small easter egg that some may not want to know about before they see the movie...

Badass Digest says that while the Joker won't appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, his name will be mentioned. Apparently Superman already knows all about the Joker. Between this news and yesterday's official casting announcement for Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. is really opening up their DC universe. Let me know what you think of this news in the comments below.

  You should know, Captain, that Doomsday is analogue to massive destruction, Man of Steel showcased just that and then some.
  Batman V Superman needs to be more subdued in the destruction department and focus on a more thrilling and personal story.

    Batman V Superman needs to be more subdued? Says who? I expect great storytelling, AND mind-blowing action, in Batman V Superman. You can't hold back on the action, in a Superman movie. That's why Superman Returns didn't get a sequel.
    I think that some people overrate Doomsday. All he has to be, is a physical threat, that could possibly make Superman bleed a little bit. The threats in the DC Cinematic Universe, have to be extreme. Or else, why even put Superman in a shared DC Universe? It's go big or go home. Zack Snyder always goes big.

      You CAN ALSO have a smart and compelling story mixed with mind-blowing action, massive destruction, and multiple buildings getting destroyed. Comic book movies shouldn't have to apologize for long and epic action scenes. If there weren't EXTREME threats, what the hell would you need superheroes for?! I "hope" that Doomsday is in Batman v. Superman. And I "hope" that he's relentless, rambunctious, and menacing!

I just heard that Justice League Dark may actually be in the DCCU. That would make sense as to why they put Enchantress in the Suicide Squad. I freaken hope that's true! The Justice League Dark was one of the best surprises I received in the New 52. Can you guys imagine a live action Trinity War? Oh man!

You know, WB can expand the DC universe further to add some dough to trinity. How does the idea of an Earth-3 Crime Syndicate movie sound to you ??! Casting suggestions for it would be awesome. John Hamm as Ultraman, for instance.
A face-off between JLA and CSA would mean a helluva lot of destruction though. Kabooom!!

Yes throw in Doomsday and have him kill Superman before Justice League... No!!! Stop it! Doomsday can be hinted at, don't get me wrong, but if he's fighting Superman in this movie, it's even more destruction than Man of Steel and will make any destruction in Justice League seem like overkill and the first time he fights Doomsday he has to die (Healing coma) because Superman can't fight him as prepared. Doomsday is a third Superman movie villain, not Superman's second appearance in this DC Cinematic universe. I'm all for Doomsday one day, but not in Batman V Superman. Which is already having so many characters. I'm starting to get worried about this. They're going to big too soon. Let's calm it down a bit.

Who invented the rule that Doomsday has to kill Superman? He's been in like a dozen stories or more by now and he only killed Superman once.
At the end of the Doomsday is a boring, horribly designed, generic, relic of the 90s monster that nobody REALLY cares about so it gives an easy punching bag to bring Superman, Batman and WW together.

I don't think the trio would have much trouble with doomsday. Each of them alone? Yeah. But they're gonna need an Anti Monitor. THAT is the actual type of villain you would need to challenge them together.

People said this movie was way too overcrowded as well. Almost 30 different heroes in the movie. Look how that turned out. It all depends on the director. People had problems with Man of Steel, but most if not all the problems were due to Goyer's script. His script was re-written for this movie and Snyder himself has dealt with an over abundance of characters before in Watchmen. Watchmen is a masterpiece in my opinion. I'm not worried one bit.

  We definitely don't agree about Watchmen. I've never seen a movie try so hard to faithfully replicate the source material but get the tone so wrong. I could teach a class on how to not to do an adaptation using just that film. Man of Steel was a little better but not that great. Honestly, I've never been too impressed by anything I've seen by Snyder. Man of Steel did at least look good, I agree its problems were mostly the script.

    I loved Man of Steel and Watchmen. I love Zack's comic book movies because he lets his inner nerd out. So my chances of loving this movie are pretty high up. So that's good for me. If you don't enjoy Zack's style of directing then that sucks for you. It's going to suck for you and only you if you don't enjoy it but hopefully you will.

      I'm sure I've seen films that worse than BVS will be. I'm a film programmer for a living. I see a lot of movies. Good ones and bad ones. I think what you love about Snyder is exactly what I have a problem with, he's too much of a fanboy. His love of the comics gets in the way of making a good film. He's too close to the material.
      I own the Watchmen blu-ray but I knew the film was going to fail when instead of the despondent, drunk and suicidal Comedian who barely puts up a fight when Ozymandius throws him through the window we got that ridiculous, drawn out "super hero" fight scene. That film tried so hard to look like the comic but turned Moore's emotionally complex story into just another comic book film.
      Anyway, I'm not trying to tell anyone their wrong for having their own opinions. The internet is full of message boards where people foolishly play that game. I have no desire to "win", it really isn't that important.

      What I'm saying is he should have got the tone and themes of Watchmen right instead of worrying so much about trying to make it look like the the graphic novel. He got most of the individual plot points right aside from changing Dr Manhattan's plan (which I'm fine with) but he got the spirit completely wrong. Oh and you shouldn't have quotes around "he's too close to the material, and should have done what Moore did" since I didn't actually say that. If that's what you think I was saying you're mistaken. I don't think he should've done what Moore did. Graphic novels and movies are different mediums and should be approached differently.

      I have to say, for someone who claims to be experienced in film.. you seem like an amateur. I mean, no offence, but who says a movie will be bad without even seeing any actual footage? That's just being slow-witted. "I'm sure I've seen films that worse than BVS will be."? How do you know it's going to be bad? Especially for someone "experienced " in film.. you should know that you can't judge a movie until you see it. Or AT LEAST a trailer.
      Before you say that it also applies to me because I said that it's going to be good.. No. I never said that. I said I'm sure I will enjoy it. Not the same thing. I don't know how this movie will turn out because I've seen no actual footage. I just know that given my track record with Snyder's films.. There is a very high chance I will enjoy this film. Regardless, If you believe you won't enjoy this movie then that's fine. It's your opinion and I respect that.

      You're missing what I'm saying. I never said it will be bad, I said I've seen worse films than it will be, that statement will most likely be true whether the film is good or bad. Basically I'm saying if it is bad it will still be better than a lot of films that have been made. I didn't care much for Watchmen, Man Of steel was average, Snyder's Dawn Of The Dead remake was an unnecessary waste of time. We're both coming to different conclusions based on our past reactions to Snyder's past work. I'm not optimistic about Batman V superman but I'll go into it with an open mind. As more is revealed I may change my current impression. I actually thought the trailer for Man of Steel looked great when I saw it in the theater for the first time. I wish the film had lived up to the trailer. I do think that comic book films that try to cram too many major characters (especially villains) into the film tends to result in poorly constructed plots and weak character development. It is better in a two hour film to keep things more focused. I have yet to see Days of Future Past so I can't comment on that.

      Well, it might prove to be an exception to the rule but it hardly completely nullifies anything. There are plenty of examples of two many characters introduced and muddling up films. Spider-man 3 for one example.

      Wrong. It COMPLETELY nullifies your argument because it proves that it's up to the director. An overcrowded movie is irrelevant when it comes to deciding whether a movie will be good or not. It depends on how the director handles it. Not the amount of characters in it. Again, for someone with film "experience".. this should be simple logic.

    Sorry, I meant 30 heroes and villains. Most were cameos and yes I was including them. They had 23 or 24 magazine photos for different characters alone and those did not include the older cast from the end scene. At that time, we did not know how many would be cameos or not .. people assumed they would be in the whole movie and that it would get overcrowded. It did not turn out that way. Same applies here. We don't know which characters will just have cameos or not.

I wanna see a scene where it's the Justice League versus Darkseid, he shoots an omega beam at Batman who hits a button on his wrist, summoning the Batwing. He grapples onto the bottom, controlling it remotely and flying up towards a huge tower building. He drops from the Batwing, which is wiped out by the omega beam that is still following him, soars through the top windows of a tower building, and running through with the beam still on his tail. He dives out the window, grappling onto the ledge as he does and swings onto the floor below through the window. He runs through again, diving out and heading towards Darkseid who he dodges past with the beam hitting Darkseid. I know it would probably take about $250,000 and three months to create haha, but who doesn't want to see that.

Since we're talking about scenes we'd like to see in future DCCU installments, I'd like to see in BvS, Superman grabbing Affleck's Batman by the throat, Batman unable to break Superman's quantum grip, wherein Superman flies straight upward giving Batman a hard, dominating look the whole way up. They reach a point in the atmosphere where things get frosty, Batman begins wheezing from the lack of oxygen, as ice builds up on his cowl. Suddenly, an oxygen mask covers the mouth whole of his cowl, as he presses a button on his gauntlets, red or green kryptonite mist spraying from somewhere on his suit causing Superman to drop Batman, from either kryptonite sickness or temporary loss of powers like in Red Son. Superman begins coughing as the mist got into his lungs, plunging back to earth where he crashes into the ground or a mountain or something with tremendous, destructive force as Batman spreads his wings, and begins his graceful, yet intense and bad ass descent from 30,000 ft +. If something like that is in one of the movies, I will cry like a baby in the theater.

      Well Superman isn't heavy. He doesn't weigh much or else he would have real trouble flying, and he's nowhere near as skilled at fighting at Bats, stronger, but nowhere near as adept, so I don't have a problem with it at all.

Don't ever forget that the only reason you have contingency plans, kryptonite and the time to plan.. is because I allow it." He then gently brings him back down to Earth. As a hardcore Superman fan.. That would make me cry like a baby in the theater.

    Cool dialogue. I like Superman too. But that scene I have envisioned in my head man…fuck Superman. I just want to see Bats dropped by him at Mt. Everest altitude as Superman creates a new Tunguska Event while Batman contends with his furthest free-fall yet. Pure cinematic, eye candy in my mind. You know dialogue, I know imagery. Wanna write a fan film? Lol.

You don't have to crap on Ledger's Joker to like Leto's Joker. Some people prefer a more believable Joker. "Best" when it comes to portrayal is highly subjective. Let's hope he can put as much acting into the Joker as Ledger did.

I explained how they can do Doomsday. It would be cool if he's to that level, and if they move right into The Reign of Supermen story arc with the next series of movies that also had a lot going on with Green Lantern that revolutionized the Green Lantern Corps, and took a major hero into a major dark direction because of pure insanity with sorrow, love, and zealotry. Spectre is one of DC's most powerful heroes, and I would like to see him eventually used. He may not get his own movie, but he's a good supporting character and he's very good with major plots such as Crisis on Infinite Earths. Doomsday in Hunter/Prey they talked about his origins, and he was very cool in that. Lex Luthor clones a bunch of duplicates he may use against Imperiex, Imperiex can vaporize them all with his weapons because they go directly to attack it instead of evading it like the superheroes would. Imperiex vaporized the original Doomsday down to just Doomsday's spine, and because some cells were still intact it took Doomsday months redevelop into his full form and power. One of the Doomsdays is put through some odd experiments and becomes Doomslayer. Gog or Magog schooled Doomsday and toyed with him for hundreds of years with their time travel, I think it was Gog, while Superman struggled and died in his first battle with Doomsday, and by the time Gog or Magog fought Doomsday, Doomsday had evolved to be way more powerful about 30 or more years after Superman's battles with Doomsday.

Oh yeah Daniel! For those of us who where there when DD killed SM and the Reign Of The Supermen began, that was, without a doubt, a MONUMENTAL story arc! All and every issue up to Superman 82 "Back For Good" with alternate covers was tremendous story telling and my favorite story arc, next to Crisis On Infinite Earths.

Actually DC did want to see the public reaction to Superman being killed, knowing full well that THAT issue and all others following it would get huge publicity and sales, and they did.
Doomsday, a never before seen character seen in DC comics, WAS created to bring on The Death Of Superman story line.
Writer/Artist Dan Jurgens could not have had Superman killed by a well known major villain since he already knew Doomsday would also "die" during their fight. So they created Doomsday, a new character with no history or background for fans to get upset over once Superman killed him.
Remember, Doomsday was a killing machine, an engine of destruction, and all the superheroes who tried to stop him before Superman showed up got their asses handed to them.

I'd have preferred for Mullvey to be Deathstroke. Also I don't believe in the Doomsday rumors. It doesn't make sense that Doomsday would be created from Zod by Lex and not even kill Superman. He'd be a waste this early in the DCEU. What would make sense is Bizarro (someone who I really want to see on the big screen) being made from Zod's DNA as a messed up clone.
