Jennifer Lawrence confesses her love for Batman, Christian Bale, and 'The Dark Knight' (video)

The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is a huge Batman fan! Lawrence told IGN that Batman is her favorite hero and said that "nothing beats The Dark Knight". Lawrence wasn't as big of a fan of The Dark Knight Rises, saying it was "ehhhh". Perhaps the best part of the interview was when Lawrence confessed her love for Christian Bale's Batman in one particular scene from The Dark Knight:

"If I saw Christian Bale going through the shopping mall [on the Batpod in that scene from The Dark Knight] I would've thrown my underwear at him!"

Even Liam Hemsworth, whose brother Chris Hemsworth plays Thor, admitted that he loves Batman. Everyone loves Batman! Check out the fun video interview below.

      TDK is universally recognised as by far the greatest comic adaptation ever. It was the only one to trancende the boundaries of the genre, and become a true cultural phenomena, in that it wasn't seen as just your average CGI-fest superhero romp. It was a crime thriller, and everyone and their mom saw it. That's not the case for Avengers or any of the other colorful Marvel cartoons. Only nerds saw them. Avengers wasn't even a good film; it was a nerd event because it was the first superhero team up crossover of it's kind.

TDK, near perfection. TDKR, mixed bag of great and not.
TDKR specifically:
Bane: great
Catwoman: great
Opening scene: chilling and exhilarating
Atmosphere building to Batman's return: near perfection
Fight scenes: some good, some comically dumb
Plot: makes less sense as the movie goes along, hard to accept a lot
Climax (along with the last third of the movie): honestly TOO epic. I stopped caring. A simpler story would've been preferable for me to such massive destruction and battle and U.S. Military involvement and all that crap. Just another great Batman story, please, not THE MOST EPIC CONCLUSION IMAGINABLE TO THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY!!!

One of the most awesome fictional vehicles ever, more than the tumblr or the bat imo. But the bat has such low screen time unfortunately.

      It's the same material, and no it's not realistic. The cape would have to be a hell of a lot longer for it to carry not only Bruce's weight, but that of the suit and the rest of his gadgets. Not to mention that scene in TDK where he only has a single side of his cape rigid, but he's able to safely land while not killing himself and Rachel, despite falling straight down from a skyscraper.

      In the scene where he saves Rachel, he didn't glide at all. He just fell right to the roof of the car. Not very realistic, I get it.
      And the cape glider from TDK could technically work if it was longer. The whole design of the Bat is completely fictional and couldn't fly at all in real life. It's like a spaceship design.

      The glider in TDK was the same one or very similar to the one in BB. I don't know why you're making a distinction. It might work, but the cape would be so long that it would be beyond cumbersome for Batman to wear and fight.

      It worked completely differently in the two films. In BB it could turn rigid in a second automatically while in air. In TDK he only used it ones, and he had to first pack the cape into the backpack like a parachute and jump off a high enough building, after which he pulled it from the pack, again, like a parachute. It was more like a hybrid between a parachute pack and a hang glider. Not a magical supercloth.

      It works exactly the same. A current goes through it and it goes rigid. The only difference is it could fold up into a back pack in TDK. Otherwise, they worked exactly the same.

      In that case the pack was completely unnecessary. They worked completely differently. In BB, he touched the cape with his electric fingertips or whatever and it turned rigid. In TDK, he packed it into the back pack and had to eject it like a parachute and it went immediately rigid. Different. Different. Very much so.

    Really? Between letting one plane tow another plane in mid air, scifi leg bracers, simply chopping back a protruding spine joint, bodybuilding like a maniac after said spine correction without any high level nutritional nurishment, making a near impossible jump after three attempts just because you're more scared, getting from a remote place in africa back to america without pretty much ANY means not even a single piece of identification, getting back into gotham without at all being noticed when it's surrounded by the national guard, actually pouring enough oil on the top of a bridge to make a massive batsign while not being noticed by either side guarding it and a bunch more, I feel the Bat is one of the more believable things in TDKR.
    It's basically just a weird helicopter.

      I think that's exaggerating it beyond anything reasonable. There are plenty of real world air vehicles that can do almost everything the Bat does, if not everything (just not sure if it's within one existing vehicle). Helicopters can rotate and make loopings. They can go tremendous speeds, and obviously if there's anything in air that can manoeuvre extremely agile and precisely, it's the best helicopters. All they did here, was make a more interesting, unique (and imo cool) design. That was the case for the tumblr and the bat pod as well. Except that when you're not flying, there's way less safety risks for the crew in real life, so it was easier to make for real. They couldn't have been allowed to use the bat even if they had made it properly functional, so why fot through the effort? But it's quite believable it could have been. More insane vehicles exist and stunts have been done irl.
      If there's anything unrealistic, is that you don't hear the thing until you see it on screen. But that's classic cinema BS in general.

      2) I think that goes for things the tumblr and batpot have done as well. The Batpod coming out of the tumblr alone is pretty hard to make technically believably.
      My overall point: I don't see a a validation in positing a big discrepancy between the three vehicles within the context of what all three films do in terms of believability.
      It's fine if you don't like it, but, I think it's just not true that it's too out of place in terms of how it relates to what's possible in real life. Nolan's Batman films are full of a lot of things that are unrealistic.

      Some of the stunts the Tumbler and Batpod made are obviously over exaggerated and impossible to make in real life, but the vehicles themselves were still very much mobile and working.
      I don't have a link to that specific article, but I wouldn't just make it up and lie about it. You can probably find it easily by googling it.

      Two words: microwave emitter. Bigger nonsense than all vehicles combined.
      The point is, Nolan's films were unrealistic in plenty of aspects. Makes no logical sense to single out the Bat. The fact that the tumblr and the batpod happened to actually be able to drive is mighty trivial. They couldn't make any of the jumps in real life they did in the film. They sure as hell couldn't actually fire their canons, The pod couldn't even spin it's wheels vertically, that's all movie magic. The Batpod certainly couldn't dart between lantern poles as it did in the film, that's CGI. Him riding up the wall and turning? CGI. That Tumblr blasting between rooftops? CGI and/or springboard.
      There's nothing significantly less believable about the Bat than many other stuff that goes on in the films. I can keep adding examples of that, but that feels redundant. To me the reasonable conclusion is clear.
