Ben McKenzie just won Halloween. The Gotham actor who plays young detective Jim Gordon dressed up as an older version of himself -- Commissioner Gordon! Fans have wondered when McKenzie would sport the classic Gordon glasses and mustache... well, there you have it!

Actor Neil Patrick Harris also dressed up as Batman character. Check out that cool Riddler costume! Many fans have hoped to see NPH in that role in a movie someday, hopefully this isn't as close as he ever gets.

        The thing is, you can't compare the performance of Pfeiffer with the performance of Anne. They were both different incarnations of Catwoman so go re-watch the movies if you will. Pfeiffer's version of Catwoman (and the movie) was more comic-like while Anne's (and the movie) was more of a realistic version of it. I'm sure if Catwoman existed she wouldn't be hissing at Batman and doing cat-like crawls.
        They both were amazing performances.

        I never said it was 100% accurate. Pfeiffer Catwoman was still comic-like. You instantly think of a cat when you see Pfeiffer while Anne's was just a cat burgler

        Anne Hathaway was much closer to comics, she was smart, sexy and cunning. Just because she didn't grab Batman's balls doesn't mean she was not flirty. Anne is the best Catwoman.

        But you have to realize this movie wasn't at all comic accurate. Like I said in my previous comment, you wouldn't see Catwoman doing a sexy cat crawl in a building while trying to steal a diamond from a museum in real life. Anne did a tremendous job as Catwoman.

    There's also the example of Michael Keaton. Whem he was cast as Batman, thousands of people who wrote letters to WB complaining. WB stuck to their decision and now that movie is a classic. The point here is that there were actors who were laughed at when they were cast as a certain character and they proved people wrong. It could be the case here.

  If Green Lantern had succeeded it would of done it almost the same way Iron Man did. Does that mean DC made a movie to appeal to younger audiences? Or would it just be a good movie lots of different groups of people checked out? The Flash will also probably be a more lighter movie because that is how to character is. Shazam will also be a lighter movie. Cant we just enjoy both studios without having to label them?

    I do agree with that. You know why? Pretty simple -- because we didn't grow up on Marvel. We are the adults of this generation, and we grew up on DC. So, yeah, DC is more targeted at us.

      At my school, the kids were almost ALL Marvel characters. There were a few Batmans, but I saw Ironman, Captain America, Hulk, etc. etc. The ADULTS, however, if they were superheroes, were DC characters. I would totally agree with that statement. Our kids are growing up on Marvel, we grew up on DC.

        When we were kids back in 90's DC served all age groupS
        1)Batman animated series
        2)Superman animated series
        3)Justice League
        4)Justice league unlimited.
        These had good story but most importantly they used to have cheesy one liners and there were fun moments in those series and it attracted all the audience from kids to adults.The above shows have the best ratings ever for animated series
        Now DC is becoming darker and darker.Dark knight trilogy was awesome.Even if it was dark because it was batman and the reinvention to fit into real life by Nolan it was cool.
        But man of steel was serious to the core.I didnt smile one moment anywhere even though i liked it.How are kids going to like it? Come on that Superman now.My small cousin didnt like Superman but he liked the Guardians of the galaxy.
        DC is doing good with its plans but it doesnt need to have as much fun or comedy like Marvel.Just a casual satire,joke & one liners like in the good old animated series on the animated series will do.Thats just me and my personal opinion :)

      Cap 2 wasn't dark. Slightly muted colors doesn't equal a dark tone. It's a halfassed substitute for actual atmosphere building. Remember when genious world saver Cap hid the oh-so important USB -stick behind some Hubbabubba -bubble gum (great product placement BTW)? What a riveting and thrilling plot twist! Dark! Serious!

      I wouldn't day Cap: TWS was dark at all, but it was more mature in it's themes and offered more social commentary than the usual Marvel fare. It was also a bit more grounded and hard hitting in it's action and had a bit more grit. It was by far my favorite Marvel movie, but it was not dark.

    My thinking is Marvel Movies are light hearted fun films which are for everyone kids families ladies boys youngs grown ups for everyone its a fun family film you can say where i feel DC films are for more grounded in reality darker grittier and that doesnt appeal alot of people its for more mature audiences and hardcore fans thats why Marvel movies earn credits because they have a large amount of audience and those fun loving people dont come and see DC films so..less audience..just my 2 cents....while i love both studios but im more into DC films then marvel....BVS JLA Yeeyy cnt wait

    Hmm, I disagree with you. DC is, in one word-serious, Marvel, Fun. I love both companies, and I know what I love them for. With Marvel the stories exist to propel the heroes to have an epic battle. Civil War, Wolverine vs Hulk, any story in Xmen. This is also why Marvel fans always instigate the Superman vs Hulk or Thor vs Superman kind of conversations. Also, their Characters aren't omnipotent and easy to relate to. Because of this Marvel movies are pretty easy to make, and the characters are easy to grasp for directors. Its hard to fail at making a Marvel film when they do fail, its usually because they stray from the source material. DC is different. Even though on the surface DC characters seem cliché, their stories are more complex and serious in nature. That doesn't mean there aren't light hearted moments, but the consequences of these stories and the villains that cause it is DC's greatest strength. It's less about the actual fights but more about ideals pitted against other ideals and the consequences of such. That is why fan favourite moments aren't always when an epic battle happens, and they do happen, but its usually moments that show the cracks in the armour. Like Batman having a laugh with the Joker, Robin leaving Batman to form the Titans. Green Arrow, messing up with Speedy, Superman denouncing his US citizenship, all the times a hero dies and have to be replaced by their protégé. DC deals with more adult situations that Marvel. This however is a generalisation and their are exceptions to the rules, but think about your favourite moments in DC and your favourite moments from Marvel the trend shows a difference. Does that mean one is better than the other? No. It means Marvel and DC are for different people. Also the perception that Dc is darker is false, it is more accurate to say DC is 'serious' in the sense of what the human race would do if these heroes do exist.

    Civilly, I would like to suggest winter soldier and civil war. By that I mean, we're witnessing a change in SOME Marvel. I say some cuz you can still have a gotg right after winter soldier. But Cap's not becoming a cynic for nothin. Tony will change too. Not in a movie, but over several movies. Not unprecedented: Bale did it. I think the reasons of his retirement from tdk didn't translate as well from 2 to 3, but I'm not on that hater bandwagon. I liked em. Thing is he went from serious to more serious. Tony Stark to serious? To bad guy? I wanna see what can cause that. Remember, I'm not arguing, I like both, just presenting you view.

Actually, it's very simple. Marvel is more visual, and therefore tends to be more about the look and overall feel. And with backing by Disney who has to be kidfriendly, the movies have a lot of humoristic undertones.
DC however has always been story and character development first, visuals second.
And because DC/WB is not tied to a specific target audience, they have more wiggleroom for serious movies, and adult themes. Allowing them to get a little darker, than Marvel movies.

Well it's not something people like to admit or want to realize because it's scary shit, mind you it's not only Disney it's dc and all of movies,TV, music and games. It's called subliminal messages a lot of it to do sex, drugs and the occult to brainwash . Disney is definitely the best at it though been doing it to kids since their first cartoons came out. Call me crazy, do some research and you'll see what I mean. Why do you think they bought marvel and Star Wars ? To get to more kids. Oh and the occult is definitely in comics as well one example which would be obvious to any comic reader pretty much everything grant Morrison has done.     I know of Disney's animated history, some of it is prety scary. Esspecially the WW2 era of animated films, was very messed up indeed.
    But to be honest, a lot of companies like Disney use sex, drugs and whatnot to appeal to people. DC is also part of this practice, and FOX, and Sony, and you name it.
    It has been rightly named so very sick in the past, in the way that it was used to spread propaganda, but I think it has been significantly been toned down since then. Or we have been become more comfortable with what we're seeing on TV, and it has become normalized. As long as people have a bit of common sense, I don't really see a problem with it, It's all just entertainment, in my eyes and Disney is just the branch that appeals to kids. I mean, I saw a lot of things on TV targeted to kids that would thought off as messed up today, and there has been no damage done, because of simpley having common sense.
    As for the Marvel movies, I don't think there is any kind of propaganda going on. Joss Whedon has been very close to the source material to avoid such a thing.
    I do think Disney does has a standart to appeal to to a larger audience that includes kids as well

  Actually it's very simple. You're wrong. Just because Marvel Studios' parent company happens to be Disney, doesn't mean that Disney has creative control over Marvel Studios movies. Have you heard of Pulp Fiction? I'm guessing so, but I'll still say that it is definitely not a 'kid friendly' movie. You know which film studio made it? Mirimax. You know who Mirimax's parent company is? Disney. Disney doesn't make Marvel produce their movies to be kid friendly. That's just Marvel. Where DC is dark and gritty at the best of times, Marvel tends to be more lighthearted and jokey. Obviously some of their movies are a bit darker, I was just making a generalisation.

    We're not talking about creative control, that would mean Marvel would have to move away from the source material it is based upon. I'm talking about target audience, which means to do decide the age groups they want to appeal to.
    Pulp Fiction is a way smaller franchise that Marvel Comics, so to have an ongoing franchise only to target it at a smaller audience woul be a dumb move, in terms of boxoffice money.

  Marvel has been mostly visual before Disney bought them. Look at all Marvel cartoons in the 90's and compare it to the Batman and Superman animated series. Their style gas nothing to do with Disney, but it is this style that possible attracted Disney to marvel on the first place. Marvel comics has mostly been about spectacle, that's their mantra... to Marvel us. DC since they were the first, became their own cliché and tried to distance them selves from the 'superfriends' like vibe they had. Thus the very complex storytelling and revised origins.

    Yap. Recently i post "The Dark Knight trilogy>MCU",which have over 130 upvotes! :D It is true. At least in artistic way. And in TV,animation and games DC have no competetion with Marvel ever. DC clear winner in these three areas. Hands down! Also in comics DC ahead. DC produce lot of great storylines,arc etc. Where Marvel's childish tone based pages can't match dark,adult materials of DC. TDKR alone can cover whole Marvel comics 60-70% greatness. If there have greatness in Marvel comics!!

      Childish tone based pages? LMAO what Marvel comics are you reading? I can definitely tell you don't read them. Listen dude, I'm fine with you shitting on the MCU but leave the comics alone. The last part of your comment really made me laugh. You do know Marvel and DC share the same writers/artists right? This is why Marvel = DC. They have the same creative teams. If fact, years before Frank Miller wrote The Dark Knight Returns, he was writing Daredevil: The Man Without Fear. Ironically, Marvel gave Frank Miller a lot more freedom when he was writing Daredevil, so the character is a LOT more darker and brutal than Batman (Frank Miller didn't hold back). And in terms of epic ness, I can give you a longery list of epic X Men, Wolverine and Ghost Rider stories.

        Yup, Spidey is awesome! And did you know Born Again inspired Knightfall? I find it funny that people always call Daredevil Red Batman but don't even realize he inspired one of Batman's most famous stories. It really annoys me when people compare the 2 because Daredevil and Batman are too completely differnent characters. I do recommend if you read Born Again to read Man Without Fear first. It's good to know Daredevil's history before getting into a story like that. Oh and as for X Men, right now I'm reading Chris Claremont's 15 year epic run and I gota say, it's probably the greatest run in comics of all time IMO. Chris Claremont's Uncanny X Men is just incredible

        To be honest, Batman was back to dark roots only because Daredevil went dark first. It was Miller's test run and it was great, allowing him to make Batman darker than Denny O'Neil's version

        Tell me one product from Marvel comics which can surpass TDKR legacy,achievement. One! There is more great material from DC,i just mention TDKR here. TDKR also one of the great work in American literature. Where Marvel works can't go beyond comics. TDKR alone can cover 60% to 70% Marvel comic book works.

        I would say it's more accurate to state "...one of the great works in literature." I don't think adding "American" is accurate.
        The deaths of characters such as Ben Parker, Gwen Stacy, Captain Marvel, & Jean Grey have legacies. Spider-man No More, The Phoenix Saga, Days of Future Past, & Avengers Forever are storylines that have legacies.
        Can you name 5 other DC storylines that have been on the same level as DKR & Watchmen?

        Preference is strictly subjective. Looking at monthly top 10 sales & seeing a 50/50 split or 40/60 (there was a 30/70 month) doesn't scream "dominate."

        I said from start record. Not particular any time. DC selling from 1934. Marvel not established yet that time. They comes with FF,CA etc. Maximum their popular characters created after 60s. Also they can't consistently defeat DC comics. Marvel start selling strongly from 2000. After releasing films. Just look at IM. World have no idea who he is before first IM film. Same for Spiderman,CA,Hulk etc. In simple DC ruling comics when Marvel not even born.

        If DC started in 1934, then they only started 5 years before Marvel.
        Captain America first appearred in 1941, not the 60s when he reappeared.
        I'm fairly certain the issues were selling before 2008; there was a big over marketing boom in the 90s that caused the decompression of the Clone Saga, X-Men storylines, & all the special (and ridiculous) covers.

        Hush was awesome though IMO. It totally captured the world of Gotham and showed a very intelligent Batman. Thought the art was incredible too. And that ending with the Riddler totally caught me off guard.

        That's one of the reasons I dislike Hush. As someone who likes to figure out mysteries, that was pulled out of nowhere. Nothing hinted at prior or during the storyline.

        Of course it did. I can't remember exactly what issue it was but I it think it was Batman 614 or 615, where Riddler makes a random robbery and Batman deducts in his narrative that it's strange that Riddler didn't tie in to his enemy's plan. He notes how random it was to see Enigma committing such a random act without being apart of Hush's bigger scheme. He was wondering what role he played in it. Later on Batman finds out that it was a clue for Batman to catch because of Edward's obsessive compulsion and narcissism and the fact that Riddler has to obsessively prove that he is smarter than Batman, which is why he always gets caught. That was the clue.

        I have to agree with Knight-Errant, and say that it's a bit too overrated. The mystery aspect wasn't as good as in The Long Halloween or Dark Victory, and it just felt a little like an excuse to cram all the villains into one story. The art was amazing, though.

        I guess you're into more traditional, generic superhero comic artwork. Jim Lee has a lot of dull "same face" going on and exremely exaggerated muscles going on, while Sale's art has a lot of personality and a great film noir feel to it.

        Neal Adams, Doug Mahnke, Andy Kubert, & Bill Sienkiewicz would top my list. Lee's stuff is overly exaggerated & detailed. His stuff is more ideal for 2 page spreads, but they become annoying after a while.
        I'm not a fan of Sale's style, but I wouldn't rank him on the bottom of my list like Humberto Ramos & Kelley Jones.

      dude frankly speaking even in the comics front marvel is kinda bad, all they are doing is making reboot of their reboot's and then recycle all the old storylines from 80's, 90's and 2006 and present them again, at least DC gave a proper creative reason as to why New 52 universe exists, instead of just rebooting it for a business motive.

        I don't believe they rebooted their continuity (at least, not yet). It still moved forward just with a shake up. If it were reboots rather then new #1s, I believe formulas that worked in the past (such as a teenage Spider-man) would be the status quo.

        Marvel came up with Marvel Now (reboot) series in 2012 and kinda rebooted it again in 2014. (reboot of a reboot, that to in a gap of 2 years)
        reworking on old storyline's in one thing and working only on old storyline's is another thing (the entire 2015 and 2016 of Marvel comics is going to be rework on old titles only)

        Characters got shuffled around, but they didn't recon origins, nationalities, costumes, etc.
        It's a little to say exactly what 2015/16 will bring until the issues are out. It could mirror (or should I just skip to someone else's comments & say copied) what DC did with Inifinite Crisis & do callbacks to old unresolved storylines for an event.

        But if you were reading Spider-man beforehand, it was still the same continuity. The same for other characters. There wasn't any origin changes, or revision of origins, or shying away from pre-Marvel Now. Not sure how that is considered a Marvel reboot.
        They've been renumbering books & starting new volumes since the 90s. It's one of the reasons I stopped buying Marvel books. #1 issues sell, so they relaunch a title to put out a new #1.
        You're more up on Marvel's plans then I am. So they'll be incorporating old storylines into an upcoming event...and that's a bad thing?

        Looking at the initial Marvel NOW! announcement, the very first paragraph states it's not a reboot. It's a relaunch. The state of friction between certain characters is still there, & from the same issues. The continuity established from before NOW! is the same once the new titles started.

        I don't follow the "recycling" angle you're presenting. So Future Imperfect is being touch upon in the upcoming event. Same with the Parker daughter. Not certain your angle of "recycling" instead of "incorporating" those into the event.

Doing research (finding 1 that actually uses "recycling") it looks as though the stories (Armor Wars, Future Imperfect, Age of Ultron, etc) are to factor into the forthcoming Secret Wars. It's still too soon to say exactly why or for what specific reason. So far, I'm not convinced it's any different then what DC did in Inifinite Crisis or even the recent Zero Year.

        Oh I do when it's appropriate. I've seen nearly all of them in the theatres; the lousy ones still live a bad taste in the mouth. It looked as though you were piggybacking on The Dark Knight's claim that TDKR covers 60-70% of Marvel, I just wasn't sure what "classic" meant.
        And some people here argue all Marvel movies are terrible.
        ...and I like Superman III.

Like I said before, they both share the same incredible writers/artist. So saying one company is superior to the other is fruitless. Do you have a link? I'd like to look into that YouTuber. Here's what I'm betting; he's a DC guy. The only time, and I do mean only time, I've heard that statement has been from DC fanboys. I have never heard your average moviegoer or someone who reads both companies state Marvel is for younger audiences & DC is for young adults.
That would equate movies like Indiana Jones are for younger audiences.

        It's one of mine. There was a coworker sitting next to me in the breakroom eating jello & had a heart attack. As the EMS crew were taking her out, I muttered "I guess they're wrong. There isn't always room for jello."
        It's how I deal with stress. I don't think its a proper shred on a whole movie universe because of a character or two. Or because "it doesn't really happen."

I would say that the tone is different. While Marvel movies have a lighter and comedic tone, DC movies have a dark and more serious tone. That doesn't necessarily mean that one is for children and the other is for adults. There are jokes in Marvel movies that are definitely not more children (that Jackson Pollock joke in Guardians of the Galaxy, for example). Personally, I enjoy both kinds of movies. I do not see a problem with that at all.
