Last week, a video went viral of a man dressed up as Batman cruising down the streets of Chiba, Japan in a homemade Batpod. He calls himself "Chibatman" and he's been spotted in his city over the past three years. Like the "real" Dark Knight, Chibatman keeps his true identity secret, but he told BBC News that he's a 41 year old welder.
After the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in 2011, Chibatman said that people forgot how to smile. He wanted to help bring the smiles back, he explained to BBC News in his best Christian Bale Batman voice. And that's why he's been riding his Batpod around Chiba dressed as Batman for the past three years.
