Besides Gotham, Metropolis and who knows where else, part of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will take place in Washington D.C. a source tells Batman News. Our friend Bananadoc took some photos of D.C. police cars, buses, and taxis that back that up.

Some spoilers follow...

A major action scene was shot in July in one of the big studios in Detroit. Without giving too much away... it involves Superman and the United States Capitol building in Washington D.C. (pictured above). Superman will have to answer for what happened at the end of Man of Steel. Half the public blames him for all the death and destruction. If it wasn't for Superman being there, General Zod would have never come to Earth.

    I said it before that people will not accept easily that incident. But bere lots of people argue with me and say lots of thing how they can ignore that deaths against earths population. I am happy that what i am predict that going to be there. I said there will be one side people who forgive Kal-El. But those people can't forgive him so easily who lost someone in their battle.         He did a lot of driving during the chase scene (you can see his black jeep when the bat - pod drove bye him) - and he was in the scene where the Joker made the attempt to kill the Mayor, but shot Gordon. He was one of the cops

        Then Zod tries to use the Codex to create a new Krypton
        Jor-El doesn't want that and gives the Codex to Kal El with the Command Key to the Scout Ship.
        Kal El is feels alone and finds the Fortress. He puts the key in not knowing why he was sent yet. He wouldn't have been wondering had it not been for the clone population shit messing up Krypton's core

        When looking at it from the perspective of the humans in the MOS Universe it is indeed Superman's fault. They probably concluded that if the first alien hadn't arrived a whole fleet of them wouldn't have either. They don't care about the technicalities or how it happened. The fact is that it happened.

    Anyone else think it's a little incredible that a baby (in alien years) superman could defeat a freaking general of the kryptonian army? Superman didn't have any training or anything other than being more adjusted to earth, which I would think a kryptonian adjusted to Krypton would be even stronger on earth than one that grew up here.

      Well he got power from the yellow sun granting him more powers. I know Zod adapted to it but Superman adapted to it longer. Fuck even Jor-El said "You've been stronger here than I ever could have imagined".

  Not 100% confirmed. Krypton exist in one galaxy and earth is one. There is lots of galaxy. He easily find near krypton any planet. Even in their own galaxy. No need to come on earth.

  Remember that the security drone was active BEFORE Clark managed to push
  the Command Key all the way in and the military had ALREADY discovered
  the ship... so, even if Clark had not been there, the military would
  have breached the hull, set off the security drone, and a distress
  signal would have been sent out into the stars for Zod to pick up.
  Thank goodness, Clark DID find the ship, because it prepared him to
  fight Zod.
  So while Clark is arguably the cause-in-fact, it was arguable that Zod
  coming to Earth was inevitable, irrespective of his presence, and that
  Zod would have incentive to terraform Earth as a habitable Kryptonian
  world, rather than continue to wander the stars "all we found was
  death"... a homeworld is one-half of the equation to the resurrection of
  Krypton and I don't see Zod just letting that opportunity slide.

Zod didn't come there only because of Superman though, Superman just sped up the process. Kryptonians knew about Earth (they had a scout ship there) Zod would have gone there eventually

      Actually, that one is an exception. There's a prequell comic, and it tells the story of a scoutship where Kara Zor-El was asleep.
      There was a murder in Krypton, the first in centuries, and the man that did it used the scout ship that Kara was in.
      See, the ship was programmed to let all of them sleep and wake them up when they got to the zone of research, but the fugitive killed all of them as they awake.
      But when Kara woke up, they were already on earth, and she develloped Superstrenght under the Yellow Sun because a hole broke into the ship, corrupting it's Kryptonian atmosphere. Kara almost literally punched the ship down and made it colapse with earth. We don't know what happened to her, but we actually see the frozen corpse of the fugitive in MoS, inside the ship.
      The opened pod is where Kara was, by the way.
      Oh, and in case someone doens't know (well, can always happen), Kara Zor-El is, in canon, Supergirl. :)

        If this is canon with the film, it's interesting how there's been no talk of Supergirl showing up later. I imagine the plan to build a DCCU hadn't been established at the time...

        well just like Kal-el even kara would have been in hiding and kal-el came into the spotlight only when zod came to earth and did all the crazy stuff, so it was logical not to introduce kara at the very same time but to introduce her in the next movie is an interesting universe building choice, so i believe kara will be introduced in this movie.

        Thanks! Well, I don't know. The faraway ancestor Kryptonian Council did mention Thanagar, where Hawkpeople(lol) are from. I also think it wasn't established yet, but at least there's a hint, right?

        Do you think Kal-El's sister exist in this DCCU? Without that open cabinet no sign there which indicate that she exist. That open cabinet also not an evidence. Lets see. Personally i don't want to see supergirl,Batwoman,Robin,Nightwing etc in this DCCU. Those meterials are good in animation. There is lots of characters who need to introduced first.         It makes no sense for Batman to be in his 40s and have no Robins. How is adding Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, Batgirl, Oracle, Black Bat or Arazel going to decrease the realistic tone? How will take away the seriousness? Or do you want whoever the hell John Blake is because that made TDKR SO MUCH BETTER. In case you didn't know I was joking John Blake in TDKR was absolute bullshit.   A good part of the audience for MOS thought Superman was responsible for all the destruction... and yet they saw everything! They saw he didn't have a choice where to fight Zod.
  So imagine the general population in the movie who just saw Superman fighting and the earth almost be destroyed. I find this very realistic. It's obviously not true, Superman wasn't responsible at all, but I could see people thinking that.

It makes sense for Superman to answer to Congress for the destruction in MoS. This would be the ideal way to introduce Lex Luthor by having him criticizing Superman and then for the action scene it could be Bizarro vs Superman. Cause Bizarro can be made as a clone from General Zod made by Luthor himself.

And THAT is the reasonable explanation of why people hate Superman on film. And at the end, ficcional people have more understandment about happen on 'Man of Steel' than some people on real life... Plus it's not Superman-centric only. Superman and Batman are the main characters. Lex Luthor is one too. Lois and Diana have supporting roles and so do Scoot McNariy, Callan Mulvey and Tao Okamtoa with Cyborg and Aquaman having very brief cameos.

Some awesome locations they're using. Detroit, Morocco etc. Just wish they would come to Scotland!! Was amazing the scenes they shot for the Bane CIA plane scene at the start of TDKR, which was like half an hour from were I come from.
Glasgow would make an excellent Gotham. The alleyways are so close together in the city, loads o' gothic architecture.

  I'm from Glasgow myself, and it's brilliant to hear someone else think Glasgow would make an excellent Gotham. I was in the back of a taxi coming home from a club and yep I was a little wasted, but I was sitting thinking how well the architecture would fit with Gotham, the alleyways are close together like you say, would make for a great crime alley. The buildings would just look so so good in a Batman movie.

    either way earth was one of the habitable planets and kryptonians knew about it before hand, so even if zod didn't find that distress call, there were high level of chances of zod ending up on earth, and by the time brainiac or darkseid comes to earth, superman will already be a publicly accepted hero, so at that time superman will not be their source of unhappiness

I think it's difficult to imagine what it would really be like if an entity like Superman actually existed. We are all so used to reading books and seeing movies that have desensitized us to the concept. But think about....if this really happened, think of all of the impact there would be on pretty much everything from world religion to widespread public fear. It would be absolutely crazy.
I hope they touch upon this more in the first part of the movie because it's a very thought provoking concept if you really think about it.
As a fan of the film and character, I can understand that he did save the world. But I'm not surprised that there are going to be lots of those who are fearful of his existence regardless. Can't wait for this movie!

  Read the parts of "Watchmen" that dealt with the advent of Doctor Manhattan. It's one of the best explorations of the idea I've seen, albeit a brief one. There's also Alex Ross's "Marvels" which depicts Marvel's NYC from the standpoint of the poor ordinary saps standing on the sidewalks.

    Good call that's right...I'll have to say I enjoy MOS more and more with each viewing. I've found myself wanting to re-watch it over and over the more we find out about BvS.

      It's really clever how they're going to use some of the criticism that fell on that movie as plot points in the next one, therefore absolving Man of Steel of some small sins. I'm not saying this wasn't the plan all along, but I believe it will put Man of Steel in a new context.
      If we see the consequences of the plot of the movie now, the destruction, the fear, it can only make Man of Steel even better. And I want to be clear, I loved the movie.

It makes me very happy that they aren't going to just ignore the fact that Superman and Zod caused a lot of destruction in Metropolis and that people are going to want Superman to pay the price for his part in it all as well...

      Do you know what it's like being a Batman fan since the age of 5? All through school I had to hear "Superman would beat Batman!". Well on March 25th, 2016 the whole world is going to find out exactly what happens when Superman and Batman get into a fight. And it's not going to be pretty for the guy in blue and red!

        I've been through the exact opposite. I always heard "Batman is better than Superman?". I ask why and he's like he's smarter but Superman is smart too. Then my little brother says "Batman is better" and I'm like "Why" and in Super Cafe Bale voice he's like "Because I'm Batman".

        well we both are brothers then even i grew up with batman right from childhood ( from the age of 4) started with batman TAS and then to the action figures of the same, which went on to comics and then on to justice league AS, and then nolan trilogy and at last this movie and if someone asks me who will win a fight between superman and batman, for the past 1 year i was like wait till BvS and you will know for yourself.

        I don't think it's going to be settled then, more likely it will end in a draw and a long-lasting friendship - at least that's what I hope for. But Snyder said that Batman is the antagonist in this movie, so it would make sense if he were to lose... Sorry man :) Don't get me wrong, I love both of these characters equally :)

        see every one will be expecting superman to win a fight with batman, because most of them will be thinking that a normal human in a tin can cannot defeat a god like alien, but on the other hand it would be a genuine creative difficulty to make batman win a fight against superman and that would motivate zack, goyer and terrio to actually do it because if they are successful in doing it, it will make the fight sequence and movie even more EPIC

        Superman dosn't lose to Batman in TDKR. He was recovering from the Kryptonite (which Green Arrow, not Batman) and was ready to beat the shit out of him. Then he was like "Fuck! His heart!" But Batman was close to beating him and I hope it's not New 52 Superman vs Batman with Superman being Impusle and cocky and Batman couldn't do shit. I despise that.

        Actually Superman has superhuman intellect so it's brain vs brain and so it was Batman's plan to lose the fight so he can teach the Sons of Batman in secret. He HAD to lose the fight. He lost on purpose (unless you count faking a heart attack winning a fight) but Superman if he wanted too could kill Batman by flicking his mother fucking finger

        yes i agree superman can kill batman with a twitch of his finger or he can put batman in outer space even before he can react, but fortunately superman will not do all of those (especially in this cinematic universe, after what he did to zod) because at the end of the day it is batman's famous quote that can explain this situation "deep down clark's essentially a good person and deep down i am not" and also because batman acknowledges the fact that superman can kill him million different ways, and thus batman isn't mindless to go toe to toe with superman without proper planning and resources and when batman is prepped and geared for such a situation, everyone knows shit's gonna get real

  well it's hard to forget about that the events of metropolis and say some different story, as it would feel totally unconnected and unrealistic, it will be like where did avengers and shield go during the events of ironaman 3 where US was under attack from majot terrorist force and even president got kidnapped, that's is one of the reason why i like WB DC as their universe building approach is far more realistic and better even though there isn't solo movies right from the start, but there will be after justice league, this plan is both Studio exec friendly (risk free) yet creatively realistic

I LOVE that this movie will be jumping around, from location to location. I think that Man of Steel, was a little too contained, for some people (Man of Steel haters). Batman v. Superman, will show off a more vast DC universe.

  Man of Steel haters suck! I heard someone complain "There were no Easter Eggs or any connections". I guess they missed Batman 3 times, Booster Gold, Cyborg (not the S.T.A.R Labs reference Clark is watching a football game and the TV said 8 yards for Stone) Supergirl, Star Sapphire Guardian and Uptoia Casino. Even a 300 Easter Egg was there (Smallville Spartans). I also like the idea of expanding the universe.

    To me what's more interesting is that I'm under the impression that when they decided to do MOS, it seemed that it would be a stand alone trilogy similar to The Dark Knight Trilogy. Of course we have seen all the Easter eggs but does anyone think they were intentional at the time- and by that I mean to set up a larger universe? Or do you think at the time they just served as winks and nods to the other characters within the MOS series?

      I'm pretty sure these were just winks and nods. WB had serious issues with desicion making up until now, they were SO scared of what would happen if they started a shared universe. I don't even think they were 100% sure there was going to be a sequel to MoS, they don't like taking risk, so I bet they waited to see the box office for MoS. Good for us, it was at least ok :)

      at the beginning MOS was developed as a standalone franchise but it was WB who asked Zack and Goyer to make this thing into a cinematic universe and they were like yeah even that's a cool idea and that's the reason as to why all the easter eggs were added in post production

    Well I agree that Man of Steel haters suck. But three Batman easter eggs? The Wayne Enterprises satellite was impossible to fully notice, unless you already knew to look for it. The Keep Calm And Call Batman sign, wasn't noticeable. And I'm not sure what the third one could have been. I didn't hear the "8 yards for Stone", during the football game.

      The third one is hidden in Jor-El's armor and if youisten closely to when he watches football he says "yards for stone" and I thought it was pretty clever.

Zack Snyder did state that Man of Steel, and his DC Cinematic Universe in general, was going to specifically deal with consequences. He's a fan of the Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns, after all.

      Well, we know that the cast of MoS will be back, Snyder said it when he announced the movie. Lex Luthor/Eisenberg is confirmed too. I'm pretty sure the guy playing Victor Stone/Cyborg was also confirmed, but the studio didn't say anything else about him since that.

Scoot McNariy said he wants to be part of the DCCU for a long time which means he's a major character. I can see him as GL or Flash or maybe Shazam. He could be Steve Trevor, Metallo, Parasite, Morgan Edge and Snarperr Carr
