New 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' set photo gives major clue at Scoot McNairy's character

Scoot McNairy's role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still unknown, but a new set photo taken today at the Wayne County building in Detroit gives us a major clue. Our friend Bananadoc sent in the photo below exclusively to Batman News.

Something is definitely going to happen to McNairy's legs in post-production, the question is... what? That's where you all come in! Feel free to speculate in the comments below as to what you think this means for McNairy's character and who he might be playing. The Flash? Metallo? Someone else?

  Idk if that were the case, then wouldn't we see his clothes covered in dirt or ash? I like what Mindbender said though. I could see Mcnairy addressing his firsthand experience in the events of MoS and then saying how StarLabs/LexCorp saved his life.

  I don't understand why everyone thinks it COULD be Flash? Why the green legs for Flash? lol It makes no sense since the Flash has no powers they couldn't do without green screening.

Another option in my mind is Hank Henshaw, the Super-Ciborg, slowly starting to transform himself in a machine. Or even in some degree Joshua Walker, the All American Boy aka Kryptonite Doomsday. But is really complicated give some opinion because we dont have the single idea or clue of the context.

  Can't see Henshaw being the case since we know Cyborg is in the film. It would be confusing and redundant to the fans who aren't fluent in the comics

I think he's gonna lose his legs somehow. And then maybe worse. Like during the Superman vs. Zod fight. Then maybe, Lex offers him some kind of prosthetics but instead turns him into a machine, aka Metallo. I could see Callan Mulvey in the role more than Scoot McNairy, but who knows? Maybe he just loses his legs as a character who isn't a villain or super. Lex Luthor's poster boy for Superman's recklessness?

  I'm thinking the latter - Lex Luthor's poster boy. He's not a major superhero or villain, but maybe playing a pissed-off citizen who had the misfortune of
  losing his legs during the destruction of Metropolis caused by Superman
  and Zod, and then goes into a well acted monologue how Superman is not his hero.

    It would make sense. I couldn't see Scoot McNairy actually joining up for the long-haul with the DCCU. He seems like the kind of actor that likes to keep moving when it comes to different projects. It would be great if he did stick around because he's a great actor. He plays a pretty good complaint-riddled character from what I've seen out of his character on the tv show Halt and Catch Fire.

  Superman's recklessness? Did you even watch MOS? He tried saving as many as he could and he only caused damage when everybody was evacuated. This isn't some fantasy when Superman magically fixes everything

    I understand that. I'm not one of those people who are like, "Ooooh. That wasn't Superman. He didn't try to save anyone, blah, blah blah." He did what he could in the middle of an alien invasion as a one-man-army. However, the people of Metropolis saw it as a reckless protector. Lex and this unfortunate hypothetical man McNairy may or may not be playing feeling this way the most. Tackling Zod through a grain silo and gas station in Smallville? Spearheading him from space through the glass ceiling of a train station causing concrete pillars and shards of glass to collapse to the floor around citizens? Again, I was rooting for Superman while watching the movie. But those citizens around the fight were most likely scared out of there wits as their city was coming down around them. I'm a film watcher and a Superman/comic book fan who understands that the destruction is a given in a superhero brawl. But if I was a Metropolis citizen in that movie, I would have thought of Superman's efforts, while most welcomed, nevertheless being dangerous and reckless.

  If he's playing Dick Grayson or the Flash, then I've lost all faith in the film because that is freaking awful casting. He's not nice-looking and he's old, 36 I believe. Wow, nobody on this film knows what they're doing. It's unbelievable. Go ahead, bring on the hate. "He's a good actor!" Yes, Cumberbatch is a good actor as well but that doesn't mean you cast him as the Flash. Ridiculous. I'm sorry but that's how I feel.

    Hmm I dunno how I feel either way. I haven't seen any of the films this guy has been so I don't know what he'd bring to the table so it's hard for me to get worked up about it either way. For all we know he could be neither. But If I found out he was Dick Grayson or the Flash I couldn't form my opinion until I knew what his personality would be for the character. Especially The Flash, I just want him to have some comedic qualities but still be the heart of the team, the people's hero. If he is that then I'm totally fine. IF this guy is playing the Flash.
