Olga Kurylenko, Gal Gadot, and Elodie Yung were all up for the role of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice last fall. Obviously Gal Gadot beat out the competition and landed the role. We haven't heard from Elodie Yung, but Desde Hollywood caught up with Olga Kurylenko at the premiere of her new movie The November Man to get her thoughts on being considered for Wonder Woman.

I watched Argo and To the Wonder, after Batfleck was officially cast. Argo was awesome! To the Wonder, was like a weird and boring silent movie. Did Zack Snyder make the "right" choice, picking Gadot over Kurylenko? Who the hell knows?! 99.9% of the human population, wasn't at those auditions! Snyder (King of the DCCU) chose who he wanted. Olga as Wonder Woman would've been a dream come true. My only question would be if she could convincingly get rid of her accent which I've never seen her fully do. But that one question is way better than the laundry list of questions I have about Gadot.

With a speech coach and voice over work in post, most actors are able to eliminate their accents. But I wouldn't be surprised if they had WW with some sort of non-American accent to play into her foriegn origins.

    Are you a baseball guy? If so, then you know you cannot judge players on small sample sizes. A couple at bats & a hand full of games starting doesn't mean the player can or cannot play at the big leagues.
    If not baseball, how about football? Do you judge a rookie player on 1-2 games with a hand full of passes by Brady to really say if the player can cut it?
    From what I've seen of her movies, only the Fast & Furious roles have really had any meat to them...and they really didn't have anything to the role. Let's see something that'll challenge her before she's completely written off.

      Not sure what you do for a living, but has anyone ever given you a chance to show what you can do? Be it a different department, management, or even more responsibility. There could be people you work with, interact with as a vender or patron that thinks you aren't worth anything more then what you're doing...but that ONE person saw something more.

      I believe if you review all my posts on this movie, you'll find I never said Gadot, Affleck, or Eisenberg were the best actors for the roles. In fact, at this point, none of them fit the perspection I have on Diana, Batman, or Lex. The only thing I am guilty of here is being willing to give each a chance to prove me wrong. Despite ALL (and there are a lot) of concerns for this movie and the DCCU's future, I'll at least give the movie a chance before I pass final judgment.
      Anything less would be seeing the movie to watch it fail. And how can anyone be either objective or entertained if the only reason to watch the movie is to see it fail.

      7 films that total about 45-60 minutes of screen time. If Gadot had the filmology of say Katie Holmes, Maggie Gyllenhal, or Cameron Diaz, then yes, I'd agree there is a large enough sample size. 7 movies with minor parts & virtually zero dialogue isn't much to full judge.
      What are the core essentials of Diane, and I don't want anything on your list to reflect her physical dimensions.

      The Physicality of Ms Gadot is the least of my concerns,For many that would be the obvious objection,my issues on the other hand runs much deeper than that.You mention to name the major essentials of the character.OK lets focus on some Ancient Female deities of the past empire's of this World such as ironically a roman goddess named DIANA.Diana's primary attributes as a supreme feminine being is that she conveys better yet,she exemplifies truth through wisdom.beauty.being a formidable warrior and demonstrating a regal type demeanor thats unquestionable. When you have a deficient actress in a role such as this who cannot bring any of these dominant characteristics to life,there is wherein it lies a massive discrepancy.Because at the core of the performance shes fails to become the character in full.

      I recall watching Iron Man 2 & discussing with my friends how stale ScarJo was as Black Widow. Very dull, very 1 dimensional. We questioned why they would move forward with her.
      Then came Avengers. One of THE best scenes in the movie was when she played Loki.
      Then came Winter Soldier. Her role grew even more. She pulled if off nicely.
      My same buddies & I changed our perception of ScarJo for the role. She was the character.
      Now, ScarJo has a filmology Gadot could only wish for, so that's not my point here. My point is, up until she was cast as BW, ScarJo's wasn't really given a chance to test her range. The initial appearance was very bland (partly due to the script of IM2). Who's to say Gadot hasn't fallen under the same situation? Her minor roles were essentially place holders, but whose to say, given the chance, she can't surprise you? How can anyone really assess she doesn't have what's needed for the role?

      Well i never cared for Scarjo's portrayal as BW,that within itself was always laughable since the initial casting to me.I say that because thats a crucial example of style over substance,Now granted Cap 2 was a very potent and sophisticated film but i wouldn't say she was a big standout.WW is a little more complex given the mythos and the fact being she is a much larger ICON,that leaves very little room for error,Again this is the debut of this character in this format.

      I don't consider Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne C-List. Henry Cavill though he is a great actor is a C-List actor not that I'm disagreeing with you. Diane Lane, Callan Mulvey Tao Okatmota, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa and Jeremy Irons are not all C-List. Mulvey, Momoa and Lane are but Okamato and Fisher just started acting on films and I consider Jeremy Irons B-List at best
