Before Man of Steel, director Zack Snyder amazed audiences with his faithful adaptation of Watchmen in 2009. A new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set photo suggests that he may be looking to reteam with one of the Watchmen.

A Detroit native snapped the photo above, claiming that the painting is a prop from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Fans online think that the man in the painting looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan aka The Comedian in Watchmen. This immediately sparked a new rumor -- Jeffrey Dean Morgan is playing Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Now let's break it down...

  1. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think that the man in the painting looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan. What do you guys think?
  2. If that is supposed to be a painting of Thomas Wayne, this doesn't guarantee a flashback scene. We may just see it hanging in Wayne Manor, and maybe Snyder asked his Watchmen pal to fill in as a little Easter Egg.

What do you all make of the photo above? Are we looking at Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

I also wanted to give a quick update on today's car chase scene. Unfortunately the Batmobile did not make an appearance, even though Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne stunt double was spotted on set.

I'll be posting a big "roundup" on Saturday when the scene is finished, but you didn't miss anything too exciting today. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice photographer Clay Enos did post a cool photo of director Zack Snyder, however. I'm pretty sure everything in the background was added via Photoshop.

    I'm embarrassed that people have made this into a rumor. I agree, that doesn't look like Morgan any more than it looks like a brown-haired Brad Pitt or Benicio del Toro. It could be any number of people. And that might not even be Thomas Wayne.

        Watchmen and Dawn of the Dead were the two movies that had me sold on Zack. Watchmen in particular was fucking awesome.

            Me neither. I think it would be hard to sit through 2 hours of a real magician doing magic. 2 hours of magic done by editing and CG? Why am I watching this?

            Snyder said specifically one time that BATMAN is actually the antagonist. We see the story more from Superman's point of view.

            Watch The Prestige. It's about magicians but I'll guarantee you'll love it. No CGI. Amazing movie. It's about a rivalry b/w 2 magicians (Christian Bale & Hugh Jackman) and how it destroys them.

            PS What magic in Now You See Me? I cannot think of a single plausible trick in the entire movie! (except for one bullsh*t moment which was just plain stupid). Maybe that's the problem with it. And I actually know a few tricks better than what they showed, in a movie apparently based around magicians, real tricks not CGI crap. Seriously though, watch Prestige, you won't regret it.

      Thought the film was great from a fan of the comic, although one of my favourite moments from the book was altered slightly for the movie which was a little disappointment.

      Was always interested to see Snyder's interpretation of Batman after seeing Rorschach in Watchmen. We'll probably never get it, but an R rated Batman by Snyder would be sick.

      Watchmen is my favorite comic movie of all time, but only the director's cut.

      Watchmen is an operatic and flamboyant interpretation of a comic book that is very tempered and sober. The movie is to the comic book what a heavy metal concert is to an opera. But I think it's clearly a sincere artistic interpretation of the comic. (In a way, Watchmen is the diametric opposite of the new Marvel movies, wherein they deliberately seek to make "four quadrant" movies which are accessible to all.)

      At first, I hated the movie because the comic book was so powerful to me and so burnt into my memory. But I watched it again about a year ago and I was more in sync with its style then, and I really enjoyed it.

      And, no matter what, the portrayal of the Comedian matched up perfectly with the comic: a badass alpha male fascist who had bemused contempt for the USA, and who made women cream so badly they'd cheat on their weakling husbands with him even after he raped them (maybe....because he raped them?)

      Anyway, that's enough of "Movie Reviews by David that Were Never Requested".

        Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead, Man of Steel, 300, 300: Rise of an Empire and Sucker Punch. Proof that Zack Snyder is awesome (Sucker Punch was ok not THAT bad like Batman and Robin bad).

          Yeah, it's very clear to me that he's a technically competent filmmaker with a good measure of an artist's heart (although that's risky, because it means his movies are going to be more subjective, and therefore inherently not to many people's personal tastes).

    You can see the resemblance between the painting and JDM, also looks a little like James Franco. Maybe it's just a little easter egg, a nod to JDM...make the painting resemble him but doesn't mean he'll be appearing as Thomas Wayne.

    Think Thomas and Martha Wayne made a mini cameo in the Watchmen opening credits (Nite Owl saves them), since Snyder was involved in both films I expect it's no more than a fun easter egg.

    You can see the aged-face make up at 00:45 of Bruce. Ben barely looks like himself. That's interesting. Looking forward to what gets captured tomorrow.

    Watchmen is without doubt one of my favorite comic book movies of all time. It's also the main reason why I KNOW Zack Snyder can handle multiple characters on the big screen at once. An "overcrowded" movie shouldn't be a problem for him.

      I totally agree with that, My main concern with the movie was the actual script, but since Terrio came in i felt much more confident. For my, Snyder was never the problem :)

        Agreed! Snyder is an amazing comic book director. One of the best in my opinion due to his nerdy/geek side. However, he has to be handed a good script because that's his main weakness. Scripts. Terrio however, the guy is a genius. Combine that with Snyder's comic book geek side.. man it pumps me up!

          I wish I knew where all this blind confidence in Chris Terrio everybody has comes from. For me he is one of the biggest question marks alongside Gadot.

            Hardly "blind confidence". A bit over confident? Yea maybe a bit. However it isn't "blind". The guy is clearly talented. Argo had an amazing script. WB is surprised at how good the BvS script is (although it's probably more for marketing). All in all, he is an improvement from Goyer so a "question mark" is a bit out of place. Gadot? Yea I agree with that one. Terrio? No. He makes anything near as good as Argo's script and I'm happy. I don't really see why you care so much about what people think about Terrio though. It's not like it's wrong to be optimistic about this film. Sure, be cautious do avoid getting let down but a bit of optimism is good. Even if people had blind confidence in Gadot, I wouldn't care. To each their own. For me Terrio is by far one of the biggest improvements.

            Because the script is most important part of the movie. And I'd rather have that script written by somebody who has a lengthy track record of putting out quality work rather than a guy I know next to nothing about and having to cross my fingers.

            I didn't find anything amazing about Argo. I don't get the love for that movie at all. It's one of the most overrated movies I've ever seen. But even if I loved it, one good movie doesn't make a great career. Hollywood is filled with way more one and done flash in the pans than it's filled with people who've had long careers.

            Goyer has been writing movies I've loved for over 20 years. So I know what I'm getting from Goyer and I have confidence in that. I have no idea what to expect from Terrio. I don't have enough knowledge on the man to have an opinion. I don't know if it's a good thing, I don't know if it's a bad thing, thus it's a question mark.

            Well yea but you're forgetting. Overrated does NOT equal bad. Regardless of what you may think of Argo as a movie..the script was amazing and it's why he won an Oscar. Also, I don't like Goyer so we all have different opinions. Goyer is amazing with stories but I rarely like his scripts. The Dark Knight trilogy is very good but he worked with Nolan's brother. Look at it this way though..better an Oscar winner (even if it's one film) then a random nobody with mediocre scripts. (<- Not talking about Goyer) Either way, due to the fact that he is wanted right now means that he has a lot of talent and potential and didn't just get "lucky" with Argo. Movies are subjective but just because you didn't like Argo doesn't take away the fact that the script for the movie received praise by the majority of the audience. Either way, I remain optimistic. Also, I have a question for you. Do you consider Larry Fong an improvement? Why or why not?

        shit with Terrio penning this and most likely Justice League and Zack Snyder directing them . DC is going to have the best 2 CB films in a row and i bet Terrio will start penning more DC properties and i hope Zack directs WW and MOS 2 they need to get James Camron to direct Aquaman

    I think it looks ALOT like Morgan, and I'm glad they chose him for Thomas Wayne if it is truly Thomas he's playing and if it even is Morgan in the photo, if they decided to adapt the FLASHPOINT comic I could see Morgan as the dark Thomas Wayne batman, "MENTION MY DEAD SON AGAIN AND I'LL BREAK OUT MY SURGICAL EQUIPMENT here's hoping

    If this is Thomas Wayne and there is a flashback I think it'll just be a memory of Thomas telling Bruce something when he was younger like never give up (only a lot more inspirational) and then Bruce goes to fight superman, or if Bruce is semi retired as batman, like he is rumored to be, then maybe he has to come back because of superman but doesn't want to and then he has a flashback of the night his parents were murdered and Bruce is motivated to go back out as batman

    Watchmen is underrated as fuck. That movie deserves more praise. Perhaps it's too abstract now, but along the line I'm sure it'll garner a bigger audience. A lot of divisive movies are like that.
