It's not hard to look at Ben Affleck in a suit from a red carpet event and imagine what he'll look like as Bruce Wayne, but this is Batman News... we live for this stuff! Our new Batman was spotted in his Bruce Wayne attire for the first time on the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set in Corktown, MI today. Affleck can be seen with slicked back hair (with a touch of grey), in a dress shirt and vest.

The video above was shot by a fan named Samuel Otten and shows Affleck in-between scenes. Beware of some spoilers, Otten explains the scene that he saw Affleck shooting.

This is sure to be an exciting week as far as on location shoots go. A big car chase will be shooting on Wednesday through Saturday, which hopefully means the Batmobile will be tearing up the streets of Detroit!       the moment but now that its over its all "oh we dont talk about that.." right?
      (for the record I agree, Batman wasn't very Batman in Dark Knight Rises). Also there is barely any grey hair here on Batfleck as well. Especially for someone who is supposed to be 50 so again I dont know why people are getting so excited over a little bit a grey like it's a.) something new or b.) something to get excited about...

        Woah woah take it easy buddy. First of all, lets not generalize for everyone on this site. And if we were to generalize, I think most would agree that Bale//Nolan was one of the best things that happened to the Batman Universe as a whole and the first two films in the trilogy can pardon the several farces TDKR had.
        Speaking of TDKR, Bruce Wayne's gray hair was just associated with one of the farces in the movie---Batman more or less giving up in the most lame fashion at the point. That is why I said most people disregard the grey haired BW in TDKR.
        On the other hand, the grey hair on Batfleck is what I hope to be very seasoned Batman whose coming out of retirement to kick ass like a boss.

My money is on the financial building was a part of the Man of Steel destruction and possibly this is what causes Batman to come out of retirement. Probably a lot more complicated but it would give an easy way to introduce Wayne/Batman.

  I don't think they're going with the "coming out of retirement" Batman again. We literally just saw that in The Dark Knight Rises. The only description of his character that we've heard is "experienced", not "retired".

    It's going to be heavily influenced by the graphic novel "The Dark Knight Returns", which means we may see the "coming out of retirement" angle again.

      The Dark Knight Returns was a great Batman story, but it's starting to get as old and tiresome as Batman is in the story. The last big Batman movie that we saw had influences from it (and even direct quotes), and shortly after we got a 2 part animated film. Why do we need more again? Assuming that confrontation is necessary, I'd rather see Batman in his prime taking on Superman

        I see this version being more the mentor to younger, inexperienced heroes. Basically "Batman & the Outsiders", only with the Judtice League instead.

        It is the most famous fight between the 2 characters. It makes the most sense to use it as the template.

        Well initially DC was trying to figure out a way to tie the Nolan series to their new plans so as to not have to reintroduce Batman after a 3 picture run (They're kindof in a hurry to get the DCCU started). And the best way they could sorta do that was by having an even older Batman come back from his 2nd retirement. So the Nolan series are unofficially sorta like the origin story for the current DC movies.

        After great origin based Batman film (Batman Begins),there is no need to make a film which show Batman origin. At least no need to make it for more 10 years. Batman Begins considered best orgin based superhero film. Not a joke. That is why they just easily carry his age,life after Nolan trilogy. But they will introduce those enemies which Nolan introduced. Joker,Scarecrow,Bane,Ra's,Two-Face etc.

        Or it's mental fatigue since he's been going out every night punishing his body doing god knows what and that crusade will take a toll on someone mentally. It's natural to think to yourself "15 years of this and what have I accomplished exactly?" and simply give up. If they really want to make Batman "real" to match their sociopathic "real" Superman then this is the approach they have to take.

        the dark knight returns, the scene where Batman has his hand around supes throat, is possibly one of the most epic scenes in comic book history, that last line by batman, amazing. makes perfect sense to use it as the beginning of a new franchise like justice league

      What Batman movie hasn't been "heavily influenced" by The Dark Knight Returns? I think its time for a new interpretation of the character. Plenty of ways to do it without needing an origin story.

      I think if he was coming out of retirement they would have said so. They keep describing him as a seasoned crime fighter, which, to me at least, implies he's still active.

      Batman's first apperance scene was epic in The Dark Knight Rises. When i watch the film first time intheatre i feel so cold. I remember that was a rainy day. That film feel always so cold to me. I hope Zack will make a another epic Batman entrance scene. Long scene.

Will there be Batman movies where he is fighting The Riddler and instead of giving the character a back story, it's just another adventure? It seems right for now, but with this only being the foundation, it seems like there will be issues down the road.

        Well, they said it'd be in 2019...but that was a day or two after they released their movie timeline through 2018. I recall reading all over how people were surprise through 2018 no Batman movie. It seems like an add on due to the criticism.
        We'll see what happens. I still have my doubts.

        batman movies are cash cow stuff for WB, just like Ironman is for Marvel, so we can expect at least 2 solo batman movies with Ben Affleck.

        We'll see. I'm not convince that's the plan. Solo films are cash cows...but do you tie Ben up over the next couple years on those or use his time to make appearances in other DCCU movies? Ben is a pretty busy guy, so I can foresee him giving some time, not large chunks of time.

        so basically Ben will be in BvS, Justice League back to back that is confirmed as of now and eventually he will also be appearing for Justice League 2 (that's common sense) but the real question is about any solo batman movies, that's where the interesting part kicks in,
        1) WB is always 200% supportive of a solo batman movie
        2) Ben is a fan of batman and as a writer+director, he will have that urge inside him to write, direct and act in one
        3) fans need at least 1 solo batman movie, to see how this new version of batman can be adapted and so on in a personal solo story arc (may be night of owls, death in the family etc)
        4) if at all there is going to be a solo batman movie, it can easily cross 1 billion and if Ben is involved in directing or writing apart from acting, there are high chances of either being nominated or wining an academy award (that's a huge thing for both WB and personal achievement for Ben, as it might be the first comic book adapted movie doing it)

        I think there's too much stock in Ben writing, directing, & starring in a solo Batman film. Staying in shape & training for the role PLUS the other duties just seems like overkill for him.
        I recall Ben also saying he was a huge DD fan back in the day, so I don't put too much stock in that comment about being a huge Batman fan.
        I hope they shy away from Court of Owls, Hush, & any other storylines within the last decade. Death in the Family could be a little lengthy & in-depth for a solo film at this point. If anything, I see more mileage getting used from the first half of DKR for a solo film.

        I read a while ago (Probably a rumour/lie) that they gave him a 3 none solo film contract + 3 solo films. I am hoping we see the Riddler in one of the three solo films. I'm sick of the Joker for now. I also see them going the Batman Beyond route with it. But back to the Riddler thing... I doubt it will happen, as there no actor out there that I think could do well, apart from that Reid guy from Criminal Minds... Maybe Penguin too. Idk, I just want this film to be out now :<

        yeah nice thoughts riddler would be amazing, the kind of intellectual and psychological threat that he makes can be fleshed out into an awesome movie, like say for example riddler knowing bat family's secret identities and threatening them with it, or anything the options are endless, he can easily fit into the dark and gritty style but on the side note there needs to be a physical villain also if riddler is there in the mix,

  This is @ottensam, the (amateur) photographer. They did seem to be working on him. We aren't sure why, but it looked like they were adjusting something in his shoulder. Possibly a shoulder pad.

we've seen batman's origins story. we've seen old batman. but what about when he's in his prime? can we just have a 20-30 year old batman who is at the peak of his crime fighting?

  Yes! I've been thinking this for a while. As cool as it is to see older Bruce and as great as TDKR is, I think it'd be more practical and appropriate to have a batman who has been fighting crime for maybe 5 or so years aged around 30. It seems weird that Batman would join/form the Justice League in what are presumably some of the last years of his career.

    one thing i didnt like about TDKR though was the fact that in the story, Batman had begun fighting crime for a year, then TDK knight happened over a few months, then he buggered off for 7 years then he come back for under a year. So all in all in that story, batman was only active for 2 years? Although i accept the ending was left at "heres robin, batmans alive, so we leave it to you to imagine that he does come back and carry on" But still, only 2 years active..

  Any McGuffin would work. Since Batman is strictly human, I was never a supporter of the "Fountain of Youth" or "sent back through time" bit that Morrison used. He refused the Lazarus Pit offered to him, I just don't see Batman taking any cheats to live longer.

    I always liked how they did it in Generations. Ra's figured out if two people entered the Lazarus Pit one would come out immortal so he forced an older Bruce Wayne into the pit with him and Bruce's will won out. It was kinda a cool way of having Batman be able to keep being batman (although in the book he doesn't become batman again for a few years) but not have it be something that he did to himself.

        I like it a lot for many reasons but one is for the sake of Superman. Hes a guy who if he doesn't live forever hes at least gonna be alive for another few hundred years. It'd be nice for him to have someone as a friend in that time instead of having to watch everyone around him go. Plus like you said, who wants an old retired Batman? Haha

I was wondering because I think it be a cool story arc if batman were to get seriously injured and one of his fellow justice league members dunked him in say the Lazarus pit for instance. And it decreased his age by say 15-20 years. This would allow a younger actor to carry on afflecks role. I just think it would be cool so Bruce Wayne could be batman for how ever long this version of the dccu lasts.

  To some extent, I think they want an older Batman in this DCCU. If not, they would've casted a younger actor. Possibly using makeup or CGI to age him. Though, as I said, I've never been a supporter of Batman deaging. When I read Batman: Venom, I was left with the impression Batman strives to be better, but not at the cost of using unnatural means.

    I dont think we will see an endless string of films with this cast, I think we will have 3 Justice League movies minimum, and they will all be out within a 5 years or so, so he wont get much older in that time in terms of looks

      Ben is 41. He can easily stay in DCCU untill 54. Mean 12-13 years. Zack will make three JL films. And Ben will direct at least two to three Batman film easily. And we have Batman as cameo or little more big part in other films in DCCU. i mean in ww,supi,gl-flash etc films.

Ben Affleck as an "older" Batman/Bruce Wayne, is perfect casting! As an actor, I'm sure he'll have a MUCH easier and more enjoyable time, playing Bruce, than he had playing blind Matt Murdock. According to Zack Snyder, Affleck will be "a crusty old Batman, beating the snot out of guys".

        Nothing has been confirmed yet, about how films will be connected. But I'll assume the Shazam movie will be connected with the DCCU films. No way you do a standalone Shazam movie, without the possibility of other superheroes, showing up in the sequels.

      Cavill's body is 100 times better. He js right now most fittest actor in Hollywood. Ben is dashing with his now health. Did you see his recent photos? He always ladykiller. But now he is totally dashing.

        Nope, I'm not insecure about my marriage. I don't think my wife strictly loves me for my looks anymore then I her. Plus, if we divorce, I know I'll find another women.
        We've also agreed if either of us got a change to get physical with Katy Perry, my wife or I (maybe both) would have to take it.
        And I have no desire to be perfect, Mr. Pink.

        Why Mr. Pink? Is it Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad? Or other guy? I call you Mr. Anderson because i love that Matrix trilogy. When Agent Smith calls him always Mr. Anderson. :v I love that actors pronunciation in those three films. Great acting also. It is real pleasure to hear from him 'Mr. Anderson' again and again. You can watch the video where all his Mr. Anderson saying are covered. Brilliant. :-)

What I don't get, is if they're trying to kickstart this DC movie universe with the JL movie and all of that, why use TDKR Batman? Wouldn't a younger Bruce Wayne make more sense? If Bruce is already ancient in MoS2, he's going to be decrepit by the time JL rolls around.
I mean, unless Terry McGinnis is up to bat next I don't get it.

  Whoa, wait a minute. This has nothing to do with Avengers or RDJ. I'm not talking about Affleck's actual age, I'm talking about the character's age for this movie. They're obviously trying to portray him as "older" with the gray hair and that's the part I don't get. I mean that's fine for the TDKR story, that's what it called for. But going forward with a shared movie universe? Is he supposed to be 60 for JL2?
  And you're crazy if you think he looks 30 in that pic.

    Well the thing about Stark is he's using that Iron Man suit with the very sophisticated AI. So he could be 100 years old and suffering from alzheimer's and still do a decent job. lol

      Yea and just look at Liam Neeson. The guy is 62 and he kicks ass in all his movies. Affleck should be fine for this cinematic universe if he stays in shape.

    Yeah defo, in 5 years time Affleck wont look any different. Plus batman is supposed to be a the peak of human conditioning. So even at 50 he would still be one of the strongest agile people around

  They want to use a more established Batman, without going back to the origin story. People already know much about Batman, but they never seen this version of him. An older, wiser, and possibly angrier version would be great. Especially if the rest of the JL are 10 years younger than him. It would create a great dynamic. I don't think his age would affect the DC universe. I see it as a positive thing.

    Think he is ment to be older too, as he will basically be the one managing and controlling the justice league, makes sense to have him as an old wise angry dad over the others

  I think it doesn't matter if Batman is in his 50s or 20s, he looks weak anyway next to superman or wonder woman. In the comics they tried to smooth it out, but I think in the movie universe they want to avoid that, they won't let him go after darkside or any other villain with superpowers along the other members of the JL, it is much more likely that he will take the part of the coordinator. I think that is the reason why they made him so old.

    Well, I'll have to dissent that Batman looks weak next to Kent & Diana. I also don't think it'd go over too well if Batman isn't in the eye of the storm with superpowered villain. He's become the face of DC (arguably of comic books in general), so to keep him out of harms way would get a lot of backlash.
    I do believe he'll be the tactician of the group, but I still have this feeling this 'elder' version is to keep him more intertwined in the DCCU. As I've mentioned before, I foresee this as a "Batman & the Outsiders" theme.

  This "older Batman" is actually a stroke of genius in my opinion. Why? I'll explain my point of view. First lets talk Batman solo films: We have already seen a Batman in his "prime" several times. The Dark Knight Rises did an older Batman but he was still pretty damn young. Affleck's Batman is going for old. Late 40's old. So for the Batman films, this is perfect because it will explore new grounds and show us a Batman we have not seen before. Plus we will see him kick ass because most Batman villains should be easy for Batman to beat up regardless of his age. It will offer a movie with not only a more experienced Batman..but more experienced Batman villains too. Pretty awesome in my opinion. As for the Justice League movies? The Justice League movies will most likely have super powered villains. Villains that even Batman in his prime would not be able to fist fight. It just wouldn't work, Batman would get one shoted. So in these movies his experience can play a huge role. Who else could outsmart a super computer like Braniac? Who else can find a weakness/develop a plan to take out Darkseid? As for Affleck's actual age/appearance, well just look at Liam Neeson kicking ass in every movie at 62. Affleck should be fine if he stays in shape. Seriously, I love that they are going with an old Batman. Just brilliant move in my opinion.

    Agreed. All we have ever seen from Batman films is origin stories introducing the villains etc and Batman sort of in his youth. It will be great to see an older wiser battle harderned batman. If anything he will be even stronger than he would have been before, just older angrier (i hope) and wiser!

  I think they will be filming a lot of things in the next few years, justice league will probs be out a year after BvS as they are filming them together and straight after and i think this will happen with justice league 2 and 3 etc, i think in their story all the stuff we know from justice league will happen within a few years of the story, so he wont really get that much older

I really don't like the grey hair. I would've preferred him to be in his early 40's at his oldest. But unlike others who get pissy and start saying "This movie will suck and I'm not gonna watch it" I'm going to say that this won't stop me from being excited and I only hope for the best from BvS and Zack Snyder.

  well Affleck is 41 and has some gray hairs already, I don't think adding gray hair to the sides of his head make him look that old
