Lynda Carter knows a thing or two about Wonder Woman. After all, she's best known for her role as the Amazon warrior princess in the 1970's TV show -- which aired for four seasons. This week Carter was a guest on Katie Couric's talk show "Katie" and they spent a good part of the interview talking about Wonder Woman. Towards the end, around the 5:25 mark, Carter was asked how she feels about Gal Gadot taking on the iconic role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Here's what she had to say:
The truth is that I wish her well. To play a superhero is kind of thankless in a lot of ways. And as long as they don't write it for a guy but put a girl in there. That's not Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's about heart, about kindness, about righting wrongs. It's like all of us, right? It's where we live. It's all the places we live. And that's really who Wonder Woman is. All the things we do. And there's still that secret self that wants a pat on the back every now and then. We come in all shapes and sizes. And I really do hope that she can bring that kind of heart to the character.
Gal Gadot recently left Detroit to go film a different movie, and according to director Zack Snyder she hasn't even shot any scenes as Wonder Woman yet. Snyder told USA Today that Gadot's still "working out and getting buff and ripped". We've seen Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman... hopefully it won't be too long before we get our first look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as well!
