Ben Affleck stars in tense new 'Gone Girl' trailer

Ben Affleck stars in David Fincher's Gone Girl later this year, and a tense new trailer was just released. The movie is based on the book by Gillian Flynn and shows Affleck in a dark role ahead of throwing on the cape and cowl for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Fun fact: Ben Affleck started bulking up for Batman while shooting Gone Girl last year, and was told by the costume designer to knock it off. He was getting too big for his Gone Girl costumes!

GONE GIRL – directed by David Fincher and based upon the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn – unearths the secrets at the heart of a modern marriage. On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?

Former Superman Brandon Routh has joined the cast of Arrow as The Atom. I actually don't like Arrow ,but a lot of people do seem to like the show and I wanted to share this info just in case you wanted to know. #DCfan4life

  I don't like Arrow either. I heard that they were trying to keep the show realistic, lol guess that's gone out the window.

    They haven't been trying to be realistic at all it seems to me. Maybe they tried to keep it grounded for the first half of the first season, but they've been very comic bookish. Especially season 2. It's a big reason it's gained the adoration of so many DC fans. More and more they've been ditching the CW soap opera nonsense in favor of superhero action.

      Well I only watched the first season.
      I read interviews with the creators before this show began and they said TDKT was a big inspiration and they wanted to keep superpowers out of it. To try and keep it grounded in reality.
      It doesn't really matter either way that's just what I thought and what I heard. Guess I'm mistaken :)

        Actually, I guess I'm mistaken as well. I didn't see the interview, but if that's what they said, it's what they said. And, come to think of it, I don't recall anyone having an actual superpower in season 1. However, in season 2 they just opened up and had a hey day. Miracle (mirakuru actually) serum that gives incredible strength and healing, the beginnings of Solomon Grundy, the suicide squad, and the league of shadows (complete with the implication of the ability to rise from the grave). And, of course, The Flash. I really like them going a more fantasy-based direction. If you're going to expand the DCU on the show, you just can't stay "realistic" for long.

Batman, I mean, Nick Dunne, doesn't kill. I can't wait to see Affleck in another "Dark" role. Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms, yo! AND Runner Runner.

Too big for his Gone Girl "costumes"? First of all, he's wearing plain clothes. Go to the store and get a bigger shirt for him, you lazy fuckin costume designer.
Secondly, I'd say to the costume designer: "Hmm, I'm much more interested in preparing for my Batman role, because even if Gone Girl is a great film, nobody will remember it in 5 years."

  I guess it's good that you don't work as an actor because you'd be out of a job faster than you can say "Meghan Fox" burning bridges with the people who believe in you.
  Plus, David Finch is a better bet to deliver a memorable movie than Snyder.

    Wasn't denying Fincher is a great filmmaker. I was simply pointing out how silly that costume designer is to ask him to stop bulking up, when the costumes in this film aren't that ornate, and it wouldn't be much of a task to simply buy a bigger shirt for Ben Affleck.
    If Affleck was on Game of Thrones, wearing complex costumes that are difficult to make, then I could understand a costume designer saying "Hey man, you're making my job a little difficult."
    But how difficult is it for the Gone Girl costume designer to go to Ross and find a new button up shirt for Affleck?

  I'm not really into the haters word but I call then detractors or doubters which there is nothing wrong with if they don't cross the line over into bullying, which personally I have seen none of about Affleck for the Bats role.

      Also I don't mind people at all doubting Affleck, also if you read my comment if would notice that.
      I don't care what other people like or don't like everybody is allowed to have there opinion.
      By bullying I mean calling people names etc.
      Again if you read my comment you would have seen I said I have seen none of it so therefore I haven't needed to "defend" Affleck. Which I would anyway because people are allowed to have there opinions.

One problem...I don't see the "Real Bruce Wayne" part in this movie. Movie looks great, but just because the character plays 2 personalities in one movie doesn't mean it automatically translates to the 2 personalities Bruce Wayne plays.

I think this is going to be Affleck's best performance yet. I've read the book and he's got a great role in Nick. Besides, every actor that works with Fincher gave stellar performances in his films at the least. I have no doubt Affleck will own this role. As for Batman, I love the suit and ride already, I really hope he gives all he's got.

Batman kills a lot of people off and on page. He starved KGBeast to death, he's hung, stabbed and occasionally shot some criminals. In All Star Batman and Robin he sets a group of criminals on fire and in TDKR he let two guys did shitty shitty deaths. Not to mention the many many people he's put into comas they'll never wake from. Saying Batman doesn't kill is a bunch of bullshit

  P.S. Know your Bat-history before bashing batman!!!! KGBeast invited Batman to fight him to the death, but instead Batman locked the room, apparently burying the assassin alive.
  In the later story, Batman: Year Three, Batman noted that he then contacted the police to pick up the subdued villain. Although by then KGBeast had escaped.
  So, he didn't let KGBeast die. He called the police to pick him up.

That was actually a good trailer. I will admit that ;) but of course it's going to take him 2 yrs to develope batman in his head. And help rewrite the script or produce it. But overall Ben. You'll be a good batman 👌 #HeavySarcasim

The trailer looks great, cant really judge his portrayal of batman on this movie alone. oh well guess we'll have to wait a year until the teaser trailer.
