A few days ago I reported that a LexCorp scene would be shot next week and now thanks to Batman News reader Chad, we have our first look at Lex Luthor's office building. Chad posted the photo above on his blog and reports that after a couple weeks of construction a giant blue "X" has been added to the building with "LexCorp" written underneath.

Remember that Superman statue (pictured above) that leaked a few weeks ago? Chad has an update on that as well. First of all, it's real and it's from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Chad wasn't able to snap a new photo, but saw it in person and said it must be at least 15 feet tall. Here's what else he had to say about it:

It is standing on some steps that have been constructed. They look like the types of steps in front of a government building. They are concrete-ish in color. There isn’t a background, so I assume this will be green-screened and dropped into some other shot.

        the dark knight rises and bvs is not same situation. tdkr is last installment of the batman film trilogy. but bvs is just second step in dccu. that is end. this is starting. and batman is dead officially then they build a statue of batman for honour. batman died to saving the city. and that alien also save the city,earth but after cause great destruction. 5000 people died. situation is not same. that is why i wonder why superman's statue,he is not hero to the world yet. and this statue also is weird.

        yes. but some time. i think it is too fast to buid his statue. he don't deserve this at the moment. after bvs he will be in the stage. for general movie goers it will be disturbing to see his statue after man of steel. they said kal will face the consiquence his activity in mos. it is just too early to drag him in that level after incidents of zod. yes sometime passed. but some time. metropolis is not finish rebuilding. it will be clear. and where is the head? it is not clear. what do you think this monday announcement? ww related?

        Well, right before the end fight scene with Zod and people are emerging from the rubble Jenny looks right at Superman and Lois and says "he saved us" so that could actually be how the public feels within that universe but those are my thoughts, it could very well be a divided opinion on Superman.

        but you don't think if this statue actually for honour for him then it is too early? what about those 5000 people? who died between their fight? he can handle differently the situation. more safely. more seriously. he just got his power. suit. resposibility. Batman also angry on him. becahse of his way to handle the situation. he can save many more people. and people how can forgive him so easily? at least those over 5000 dead peoples family,friends etc? we don't know about this statue yet. we will know in future. but really can't imagine people accept him that easily. and even accept his statue. hard to imagine.

        don't underestimate. 5000 people death is huge. you don't see after world trade centre incident? there is not 5000 people. but for those peoples sake 'they' still absorb 'those countries' resource! 'they' still pay when 'they' are not directly responsible for the incident. each peoples life has value. goyer,snyder said kal will face the aftermath.

        look,his process to stop zod is controversial,debatable. no doubt. from one angle you can critisize him. from another angle you can praise him. both will be right. you just can't ignore his fault. yes at the end of the day he save the earth. but it cost people so much. metropolis is in ash. one or two skyscrapper may be intact. over five thousand people died. greatly effected ocean life (aquaman's area). etc. it is hard to forgive him so easily. his plan to save earth have some big holes. if it is batman whole picture will be different. yes,you can atleast soft on him because kal is inexperianced warrior. he just take his powers recently. but he done some serious mistake. and he need to apologize. the storyline is now became clear day by day. bruce wayne will drag him in court. and take him as batman too. and there bvs cross 1.5 billion. :D

        Controversy sells tickets that's for sure, a lot of people hate the movie because he "didn't" care enough but the man could not be everywhere at once and when facing mortal combat you don't stop and say, I wonder if people are dying or getting hurt?. He knew and he made lemonade with the lemons he got. People die every day at least in this movie we will see real consequences.

        In real life we make statues out of sports stars for winning games. Philadelphia has a statue of Rocky who doesn't even exist. Detroit is getting a statue of Robocop because some people on the internet thought it would be funny. Johnny Ramone got a statue and he couldn't even play a guitar solo. Our requirements for getting a statue aren't very high. A guy who literally saved the world from being destroyed would probably get one.

        You don't know if years pass since man of steel. You don't know if he saves the metropolis again(which is a given since its a superhero movie). I'm actually surprised that you can't even fathom why a statue would be made. Not one scenario you can imagine in your head? Weird.

        what if it has been one more than 1-2 years since mos. superman could've easily proved his worth to the people by saving innumerable people from different problems. and it is also possible, that after bats and supes fight, they face some mutual enemy and team up, and after they defeat that guy, metropolitans erect the statue in honour of him

      At the end of MoS, Kal essentially became "Superman" (this was confirmed by Goyer and Zack in interviews). So its not entirely impossible that in BvS, that Superman has been around for a while and saved plenty cats stuck in trees etc - hence, the statue.
      Either way, I'm excited to find out!

        they also said already kal will face the aftermath of that destruction (over 5000 people died,is not a joke). that v part also suggest bruce will drag him in court for his activity. these are expected. we need to understand bruce is in early 40s. he is experianced in the game of saving people. he is the batman. nobody is smart human like him in the planet. so he can't let him go. wqyne industry also damge heavily. sea is effected badly (now aqaman). do you think batsy and aqua will not question him? come on. people only talk about batman-superman fight. but aquaman have more strong reason to attack kal than batman. he is also a god. powerful god. he is not unimportant someone.

      There will always be people who support Supes and ones who hate him, there will always be people who will want to build him a statue and people who will want to bring it down.

As was said before, this could very well be in the movie at the very end. We have no idea how it will be used, so it's useless to criticize now with absolutely zero information to go on.       Do you not remember Colonel Hardy saying, "this man is not our enemy?" As well as Jenny saying that he saved all of them, General Swanwick and he have a moment at the end where Superman says, "I'm here to help, I don't know General, guess I'll just have to trust you." Hmm, the size of the statue is interesting. I think (and this is PURELY speculation) that the statue, the completed version, will be a memorial built in metropolis in honor of Superman, who saved humanity from extinction. Also I think the the statue will be located in Centennial Park and the perfect location for Centennial Park could in the middle of metropolis where most of the severe destruction took place and it could be dedicated to all the people who died in the attack. That's how I would do it anyway lol

I'm just gonna throw this out here, but I'm probably talking kack ... The statue could be Bruce Wayne's since (in the comics at least) he's always had a museum of memorabilia i.e. Dinosaurs, penguin umbrella or whatever!
Overall, it's just immense that behind the scenes stuff is starting to trickle through ... Long overdue.

  I'm not sure I follow you. Not saying it can't be a possibility, but not sure it makes sense to me.
  Initially, Batman collected items from his various cases as mementos; at least until Grayson left. Those were normally per existing items, as opposed to making something (like a statue) as a memento.
  So, either Batman created a statue because he worked a Superman case & couldn't get an item (which technically is evidence)?
  The other possible way I come to your conclusion is that Batman had the statue created to either honor a fallen comrade or because he admires the man. I don't see the admiration angle. Maybe the fallen comrade aspect, but Kent's death seems way to quick at this point (then again, fanboys seem to want Joker & all of Batman's supporting cast featured, so maybe the Death wouldn't be too quick!)

    Yeah, I knew that bud, I should have elaborated what I meant, i.e. That possibly bats adds the statue after their encounter, at the end of the film. I don't know, I wasn't really serious when I suggested it, but I'm finding it hard to think a statue/monument would be initially erected in appreciation of Superman by the authorities at the first section of BVS. If realism is a key element to this series, I would imagine Superman is considered a threat by the masses, a key factor in Wayne and Luthor coming into the fold. So any statues appearing will be at the end I imagine.

A lot of the stuff coming out (non-official) about this movie lately just reeks of misinformation. That or I may have to start shifting my allegiances towards the naysayers.
So, LexCorp, which was plastered everywhere in Man of Steel, is an upstart company now?
Continuity flaw there.
So, Superman, who was responsible for bringing an alien invasion to earth, is viewed as a hero?
Misunderstanding of human nature there.
That does not make sense. Any attempt to debate this only proves my point. Kal-El, much like his latest movie, would be polarizing. I had, perhaps until now, thought this to be a stroke of genius. That reactions to the movie, based on some of Superman's actions, would directly mirror the publics perception of him in the movie universe itself. Art imitating life imitating art. If this is not the case, if they paint him as mankind's hero, I will be very disappointed. I want to see him BECOME the hero, but at least for now I would expect the public at large to be very divided on the issue.
Just like many people seem to be about Man of Steel.

You guys sure that this is BvS, and not justice league? Since they are shooting back-to-back this could be statue of superman's honor in Justice League after the events of BvS.
Edit: Though it says it's from BvS, can we be really sure? It seems so unfitting, unless it's from the end after superman has saved everyone.

  I have tried telling the same thing :D But with any success. Of course films are shot from beginning to end in order. It's pretty hard in movies where the first minutes might be in Asia, next there's a scene in USA, then they have shoot o 2 minute dialoque with terrorists/bad guys back at Asia. But hey, movie making is hard.

People keep saying that Superman wasn't a hero at the end of Man of Steel. Saving the population of Earth from extinction isn't enough to be called a hero? You people actually blow my mind

  He caused a crap load of damage but he freaking saved the earth from being annihilated. However, the people of Metropolis may be skeptical of him.

    His being on earth brought Zod here in the first place making it very easy for people to hate and blame him.
    Yes he stopped him but had he never came to earth it never would've happened in the first place

        Clark activated the distress signal bringing them to earth when he found the scout-ship. The point is though that they came to earth looking for him. Nothing else matters because that's what Zod told the world, and thousands of people died in metropolis due to Kal being on earth a lot of people will still blame him

        Yes all that is true, but the major point to what Zod wanted to accomplish was to build a new Krypton on earth and wipe out all living life form - and that's when Kal el got in his way. That's what it all boiled down to at the end.

  In this day and age of TV talking heads who like nothing more than to turn every single event into a controversy and a nation full of sheep who just lap up whatever the TV idiots say? Yeah. I see that happening easily. MSNBC would be all "this guy is the greatest thing to happen to the world!" Fox News would be all "this guy is an illegal alien with the power to destroy buildings with one punch and we're just allowing this guy to fly around willy nilly!" For 3 days I've been watching the news debate Obama chewing gum and lifting weights and whether or not this makes him a bad person. If the media can make a guy a villain for chewing gum, then they can make a super powered alien into a villain easily.
  I think if those events happened in real life, there would be a segment of the population who viewed him as a hero and a segment who viewed him as complete evil. Then you have to imagine somebody like Lex Luthor who owns many media outlets. He would be able to manufacture animosity and shape the world's view of Superman through his TV stations, radio stations, newspaper, magazines, websites, etc.

You do realize that different buildings look differently?
A research facility isn't designed the same way as company headquarters.
They don't make factories as skyscrapers either. "Not billionaire looking enough" is pretty dumb to say. It's like you don't have the slightest idea about architecture.

I personally hope the statue doesn't end up creating plot holes in the movie (by appearing at the beginning of the movie, for example). Also, I hope that Lex has a skyscraper along with that Googleplex looking place.

  In some versions, Metropolis Plaza is right in front of the Daily Planet, and that makes me wonder if the plaza will be placed where Zod's ship destroyed.
