New 'Batman: Arkham Knight' Batmobile trailer hints at new mode, reveals 2015 delay (video)

A new trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight was just released and it's all about the Batmobile.

The short teaser shows off Batman's new ride, which will be driveable for the first time the in Batman: Arkham series. The trailer is titled "Batmobile Battle Mode Reveal", which may be hinting at a new game mode. More information about the game will be revealed at the e3 gaming expo next week. Stay tuned to Batman News for that!

The new trailer also confirms that the game will not be coming out later this year as previously announced. It has been delayed until 2015.

"We just want to make this the best experience that we can, and that takes time," Rocksteady Studios marketing manager Guy Perkins told GameSpot. "We feel that we have an absolutely awesome game in the works, and we want to make it as great as it possibly can be. We just need more time to do that. If we didn't give the team more time to do it, then we would be releasing something that we weren't happy with. We want to make sure we're absolutely nailing it 100 percent."

  It's disappointing, but it definitely doesn't suck! I don't want another buggy Batman experience like Arkham Origins. This is Rocksteady's last Batman game and they're known for amazing quality games. If they need a few more months, that's cool with me!

    Origins didn't give me a single problem, so I can't relate to the bugs people talk about.

    Didn't have any bugs except the Riddler one. And that got fixed with a patch.
    Great game. Very underrated and possibly the best story driven game in the Arkham series.

Wow, a delayed release date is Horrible news! They tried to take the sting away with a cool new trailer, but it didn't help much. Almost as sad as the day Bruce's parents died. :(

I really hate the whole idea of the new Batsuit, way too much influence on Nolan's take. Now the Batmobile gets raped into this army vehicle madness and now they are taunting me to be happy with it? No. Never. What a louzy team of super nerds. I will never spend money on this crappy game. I will just wait for 2016, BvS.

  I was wrong for bashing the game in total, but still everything I said was my opinion. I don't like the batsuit, I don't like the Batmobile so much, don't like the fact that there are still no civillians walking on the streets and getting robbed from a thug or doing daily stuff just for the view of a normal city. But what I do like is the way you can eject from the Batmobile and actually get to drive in it.
  Also I like all kinds of the Batman stories, so that's something I would like to follow, if the story is good, maybe I'll give it one chance.
  That's all I guess xD

    Exactly. It's all about the Batman experience. I like to run on the streets sometimes and not always glide and run on rooftops. That would be really weird with people on the streets - it would remind me of the Adam West days. "Ahh! Oh, hey Batman!" It totally wouldn't work. People who think citizens need to be in the city clearly don't understand the way these games are made.
    Also, as Sefton Hill put it, it wouldn't be very "heroic" to be flying down the street at 90 mph then crash into a family driving. And you will INEVITABLY crash.
    I think that Dennis Lookman should get the Batman/Batmobile mod for GTA IV. Seems to be more up his alley.

      Maybe a different studio one day. I'd love to see Rockstar Studios make a Batman game like GTA V, where you can free roam and play as Bruce during the day and do Bruce-appropriate "espionage" missions, like going to lunch with a suspect to get more info, or stealing something off a corrupt executives computer. Then once it gets dark you'll have dozens of "bat-bunkers" where you can change into the batsuit (in addition to the main batcave, of course) and get a vehicle.
      Also, switching perspectives like they did with Michael/Franklin/Trevor could be awesome, perhaps with Batman/Nightwing/Batgirl.

O M G. My hero is made as if he was a God of darkness for vengeance. And the SUIT IS AMAZING. It's better then rubber and more detailed, with the impression of having deep silk black lining running underneath the metal. Looks awesome.

  Exactly. It seems to me that such a rapid turnover for a game that's on a whole new generation of consoles would, almost certainly, not be taking full advantage of the new hardware. Based upon the timeline, I had the bad feeling that they basically made a PS3 game and were boosting it up to PS4 quality only in cosmetic ways.
  I'd definitely rather them cook it for another six months, maybe add some new side missions while they're at it, and have a perfect game in Q1 2015 than have them skimp out just to meet an arbitrary release date.

  This one really doesn't make sense. They only announced it a couple of months ago. How did they not know they needed more time then? How did it change so quickly? If they announced the date a year ago and then figured it out, fine. But there was so little time inbetween the announcement and when we first heard the rumor on Bleeding Cool about the delay, it doesn't make much sense.

Man, this is a bummer. We can only hope that it isn't slated for a fall release, due to the Halloween theme. The delay is for the better though, especially considering how ambitious they are being with it.

2015 is when the Avengers & Starwars come out & that was when bvs was supposed to come out...why is everything batman getting delayed...wtf its like time slowing down for us batman fans while every fucking thing zoooooooms out. But i know it'll be worth it!!!

ANOTHER delay?! Oh well. What's with all the firepower? Is this Batman, or the freakin' Punisher?! Maybe the guns on the Batmobile are loaded with rubber bullets? LOL. I guess sometimes, in order to fight a war against crime, stuff has to get blowed up. This game will be awesome!

  Yeah, the Riot Suppressor. Of course, The "Missile Barrage" could F somebody up. However, I'm 100% sure that gameplay won't allow the player to go Grand Theft Auto violence on criminals and civilians.

Why did they bother to announce that 2014 release date to begin with?
They should keep delaying it as long as possible so it might actually make sense to make this next gen exclusive. Cause right now it sure don't.

  It's only too big because they decided to make it that way. That decision is what doesn't make sense.
  The next Borderlands is only coming out on 360/PS3. Why? Because Borderlands 2 sold way more copies than there are PS4s/Ones in the world. I'm sure the same can be said for Arkham. They're spending more money to develop for a new console that only a fraction of their customer base owns. It's a terrible business decision. It's great for Sony and Microsoft because it'll sell a few more consoles, but it's stupid on WB's part because they won't have the opportunity to sell as many copies of the game because the install base is so much smaller. And for what? Slightly better graphics? Big whoop.

HAHAHA! My mom has said the EXACT same thing when me and my dad tried to get her to watch the Nolan films a few years ago. She doesn't seem to have any use for a tragic, dark, and gritty Batman. Oh well... her loss! Lol.

I really believe that you can upgrade your Batmobile by progressing through the story. All that gang army Arkham Knight has, all those weapons and millitary, must unlock something for the Batmobile.
