Is this Superman's new suit from 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'?

Last year costume designer Michael Wilkinson confirmed that he'd be tweaking Superman's suit for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The image above was posted to Facebook earlier today and is rumored to be a sculpt of Superman's new suit. User "Kal-El Real" claims that the photo was sent to him by a friend of a friend who is working on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it wouldn't surprise me if this was legit. A number of photos of the new Batmobile have leaked online since it was officially revealed a few weeks ago.

  That picture is awesome. But that would be the depiction of Superman Prime. The psychotic older version of Superboy Prime. Superman Prime wears all black and kills without mercy. Seeing superman wear black freaks people out. He looks like an executioner.

    Superman Prime and Superboy Prime are 2 completely different people. Superman Prime is the same Superman we all know but much older. The only appearance of him was in Grant Morrison's JLA storyline in an arc called DC 1 million. Superboy Prime is from another universe's earth called Earth Prime. He was part of the Crisis on Infinite Earths heroes who stopped the Anti Monitor. He was also one of the antagonists in Infinite Crisis and the Sinestro Corps War. It's an honest mistake. Just trying to educate you not call you out lol.

      Since its about education, a couple of points. Technically he is correct in referring to Superboy Prime as Superman Prime as that's what he is called when he gets older. The Superman Prime you're referring to is generally referred to as Superman Prime 1 Million (or SP1M for short). These are used for differentiation among the fans so everyone knows who is being referenced. IIRC, in the JLA 1 Million stories they call him "the Prime Superman", whereas Superboy/Superman Prime is referred to that way in the comics as he came from Earth Prime. Also SP1M has more than a single appearance. He was also in All Star Superman (another of Morrison's works) and he features in the Atom 1 Million story that was in the DC 1 Million 80 Page issue. Lots of people have missed the second one I mentioned but most would have read All Star I assume.

    Actually when the real Superman came back from the dead' during the "Reign of the Supermen" he wore all black like the above image(minus the cape.) It was essentialy a kind of Kryptonian healing suit.

I really hope not. I can see it would seem to have the same sort of texture as Batman's suit but I do not like it. The chain mail appearance of the Man of Steel outfit is appropriate looking for an under suit supporting armor (as the suit is shown to be by Zod) this just doesn't look like anything except the suit needing to be ironed...

  Excuse me than, the suits both show a heavy texture now. If this is indeed legit but I doubt it. The pose is quite similar to that of the teaser shot that was released of Henry Cavill as Superman originally several years ago.

    Why the hate? Gal Gadot looks wonderful in this commercial and clearly embodies some real Wonder Woman sensibilities here as she celebrates the world around her.
    Let's actually see the movie (or at least a trailer or two) first before we start making any kind of judgements (But ideally let's steer them away from being insulting).

      I like the choice. Wonder Woman needs to be a little more assertive than she was in JLU, but tone her down FAR more than she was in Justice League War, and don't make her a stupid bully like she was in that movie either, that frustrated me.

Looks cleaner. Love that the "S" isn't textured. The texture itself might have too much depth, but you have to reserve judgement until official pics are released. I just hope they get rid of the funny hip designs and streamline the cuffs.

The S could still be textured. In MOS it was a separate piece of urethane (or some other lightweight rubber) that was attached afterwards.

    but i don't agree with the statue being in the film....it was weird!
    By building a statue of a 'vigilante', the city is condoning his actions, think of the message that sends out to everyone else? I understand he saved Gotham and maybe, maybe they would have held a memorial service, maybe a plaque to honor his memory, but....he was a vigilante. It wouldn't happen.
    Superman however does have, and is more likely to have a statue, because he is a Government approved hero. He'd get balloons, kiss babies and would probably get a song by Rihanna!!

      so.. disagreeing with the statue....means i didn't understand the film?!!
      I loved the trilogy, but there were still things that I didn't agree with, i.e. The Batman disappearing for 8 yrs due to the death of Rachel and that his battle against organised crime had been won...bullsh*t and just like the statue, would never happen! What about the rapists, thieves and murders- just let the cops deal with them? His parents were killed by petty crime, IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!!!!
      It made sense within the story arc, but any REAL Batman fan...knows he wouldn't be able to turn his back on Gotham because of love, his health or a mission being accomplished.
      (So....what point have i missed? Legacy? Sacrifice? The greater good? With great power comes great responsibility? F****** lol!!)

I kinda like how they let the chest hairs slide. No homo. I have em', guys have em', so why wouldn't Supes have them? I just thought it really humanized his character. Though I suppose if in this iteration, Kal-El feels the need to embrace his god-like powers and be the hero his Kryptonian father wants him to be, he'd want to polish up so to speak. Can't be saving presenting a 9 year old girl with her rescued cat with the hamburger meat flashing. Guess Gillette will be sponsoring this BvS again.

Also, I don't see how this could be considered "small tweaks". That is a total change in the texture of the entire suit. What possible story reasoning could even explain this? Seeing as how he got his suit from the ship, where he would get a new one? He found ANOTHER ship that happened to have a suit that was completely different from all the other Krypton suits that also just happened to have the S on it? How many House of El ships are laying around Earth?

Honestly it wouldn't bother me if ther wasn't an explanation but ther is alot of damaged kryptonian tech laying around. That sculpted suit looks like it could form from that type of computer tech that was floating around on krypton. Or the tenticles on the world engine. His new suit could b like venoms. That collar is giving me impressions of the Injustice video game; don't know if that's a bad thing or not, probably the latter. It does have a very Zeus/Greek God empowerment feel to it, but I'll bide my judgement till we see it. Probably soonish since we saw Bats design.

I'm more interested in the story reason as to how and why Superman has a different suit.
In MOS, the suit he uses was a spare found in the El family ship.
Unless he creates it himself from learning more about Kryptonian technology and culture in the new film.

Well, if that is the new suit, or an early concept on it, I too don't see how the texture would be changed unless its not the original from MoS. Diane Lane said a couple months back that she had done some camera tests where she was feeling the Superman suit, so maybe Martha Kent helped Clark alter it in some way.

The altered, gridded texture seems as though it could almost have some salvaged Kryptonian tech implemented into it. Don't know why it would, but if we haven't heard about anyone getting into hot water over this yet, then that means the production team is OK with it being "leaked", so maybe this is some sort of tease with the actual promo picture not far behind. Lets hope so. We've been given a good while to sink our collective teeth into the new batsuit, so a tweaked Supes suit and/or WW getup reveal should be coming along any day now.
