Another look at the 'Batman vs. Superman' Batmobile (photo)

The people who worked on the Batman vs. Superman Batmobile must really hate their jobs! Earlier this week someone leaked a prototype sculpt of Batman's new ride, and today we have another behind-the-scenes look at it.

Batman News reader "MODyssey" tweeted me the photo above last night, which shows the new Batmobile in a shop being constructed. "MODyssey" said that his sister-in-law knows a lot of people in the prop industry, and she sent him the photo. It's the first time we get a good look at what the front of the car looks like, since we didn't get to see the full thing when it was officially revealed earlier this week.

I always thought the tumbler was a stupid batmobile but THIS... This is looking better and better the more things they release.. its kinda funny because when they announce things we all just freak out but when we see them WE LOVE IT!!!

  just wanted to bring this to ur attention as a web host.. A theory. This isn't just a Batmobile. Its a 3 in one vehicle. I think this will clear up some confusion about the design. It'll sort of "transform" into the batwing and maybe even the boat. "all purpose, all terrain." Zack Snyder would and you know this lol

maybe the BM's reveal was done to get ahead of the impending leaks; after all the official picture, even if it doesn´t show the whole car in all its awesome glory, is a lot better than a workshop version of it, i mean, in that behind the scenes picture it doesn't even have its paint job yet.

  I don't think it's necessarily teasing the Joker. It could be teasing the Royal Flush Gang, who could be reimagined as Luthor's henchmen or something.

    I agree it's probably the flush gang. Batman is already stealing the show from Superman, i guess it'd be risky to introduce the joker?? Unless Synder uses another Easter egg, something small like a clue in Batman's flashback or a silhouette in an Arkham window?
    Alternatively....maybe Synder could be using both World's Finest and The Dark Knight Returns .Both are successful 'team up' stories!

Honestly, I think that face in the photo is just the car's wheel. But who knows, maybe they will really add the Joker into the mix, given that we already have Alfred and there is rumours that there would be 2 villains. Lex Luthor, the most iconic Superman villain, is already confirmed: perhaps the same will happen with Batman's top foe.

hm. i also think that. but did you notice before the day zack batman-batmobile photo released which batmobile he teased with maximum cover that and this is not same. that is llike small f1 car like. but this is different. far different. i just don't understand. i first think after blue realm studios leaked photo that it is batplane. and what snyder teased that is batmobile. separet. but the batmobile based on the same design. situation is not clear to me. i am really confused.

I think we finally have the DEFINITIVE BATMOBILE!
All-purpose, aerodynamic, and built like a tank.
The amalgamation of Tim Burton's Batmobile, Nolan's Tumbler, and Arkham Knight's Batmobile with a touch of Zack Snyder (like he did to Nite Owl's Archie). I have no doubt Snyder's Batmobile will make an EPIC entrance at Comic-Con 2014 as well as Batman's definitive suit with the rest of the mysterious but surely magnificent suits.

I must say the windshield's design in this leaked picture looks like a Wolf spider's eyes (LOL can't be unseen) very intimidating for sure! Obviously in the new picture it doesn't but I felt I had to point that out.

I hesitate to call either the suit or car the DEFINITIVE version/look, even if I did like everything I've seen.
There's really no 'definitive' version of these characters. Not certain why there is even the need to use that label.

  It is true these characters will change over the years. However this is the first time Batman and Superman meet on the big screen and so far many including myself believe these are the best designs we will ever get. It's definitive in the eyes of many fans.
  Unfortunately I'm not a full TDKReturns fan since they butchered Superman and gave Batman the retarded Fat armor. But I'm a fan of the Batman side of story costume and everything else. But there are millions that believe it's the greatest Batman story ever told. They label it definitive. A suit inspired by it is going to excite those people. Yes it's my opinion as well as it might be for others, but don't rain on my parade LOL!

    I won't if its clear 'definitive' in this context is subjective. There's a portion of fans who'd say the '55 Lincoln Futura is the definitive Batmobile.
    I'd never say you couldn't/shouldn't really like the new look & car, I just think using 'definitive' is a bit much. Especially with the little images we've seen.
    Can I at least get a Brownie as a substitute for cake?!

      I'm glad you mentioned the '55 Lincoln Futura. See you said there are a portion of fans who'd say it's definitive as there are others today who'd say Snyder's Batmobile is definitive appearance wise even with little shown including the prototype miniature model.
      But we'll see as time time passes and more is revealed. Yeah bro you get a brownie and cake.

      Before the Tumbler, these were always my favorite Batmobiles. The superpowers was in the comics too, but I recall it being 1 of my favorite toys when I was a kid.

Not sure if they've revised the initial concept of this version of Batman; older, grizzled & retired. If not, this Batmobile isn't exactly...subtle. If, theoretically, Batman operated as an urban myth & not really well known, then shouldn't the Batmobile be a little more of a lower profile? Something like this only solid black:

Somewhat agree. But if the Batmobile looked like that, then it will simply be 'a nice ride' without that intimidation it requires or durability. Criminals would just stare at it without running away. Besides can't Batman just use his average EMP to darken the streets? Then the new Batmobile becomes more subtle while still having that indestructible feel to it.

      I'm aware we are stating our opinions, that's how we're able to have a discussion.
      I'm merely looking at it as the Batmobile does have to look intimidating to be intimidating. It's not the car, but the driver (Batman) that's the real intimidating factor.
      Whether its the sport car, dune buggy, Humvee, or tank version, the Batmobile's intimidation is a distance second to Batman's.
      Just like the police cruiser & police officer.

Looks even better and more unique than I thought. It's less like an amalgamation and more its own thing. It has hints of corvette Stingray, it's got some roadster, dragster and armored car thrown in, but it also looks freaking solid. Now I want to see what sort of front end it has... hopefully something aggressive.!

Not too sure about this semi-circle like bend in the front. Hopefully its functional because I don't think that part is the most aesthetic thing. Having said that, rest of it makes up for it!!

I see a lot more exposures but that could just because that's a picture of an incomplete model. That incomplete model in the new picture looks like a reject Tumbler rip off. But the second photo shown gives more of a tank design that looks completely original if those exposures are covered up. Those new exposures of the third photo would be a lot easier to exploit. If those exposures are still there afterwards Batman could focus on speed and offense while his batmobile is programmed to also handle itself when he's not in it. He takes lots of crazy risks. But I think they're going to cover those exposures up to give it that tank appearance including where the wheels are at. The design of the portion of the batmobile that's actually there in the third photo looks cool, but the idea and picture of the second photo makes the most sense. It has more of a speed and ramp design of the tank appearance I'm thinking of, so it's a mix between a ramp, a race car, and a tank. It's not a tank in the same way as the Tumbler, and fixes a lot of those weaknesses. It might even have much stronger material it's made out of compared to the Tumbler which there's much stronger materials than graphite, and there's materials that can be modified to be significantly stronger than graphite by atleast 200 times. Much more powerful energy sources can be used and this looks like a very heavy vehicle. Even if it were made lighter it would still have the exposures covered up with how Batman always makes his batmobiles.

I have to admit, the Tumbler (aside from the door) did not remind me of Burton's Batmobile at all.
And I've heard plenty of people complain when writers/artists use other writers/artists work.
