Neighbors, a new comedy starring Seth Rogan and Zac Efron, opens today and it looks hilarious! Batman News comics writer Andrew Asberry saw the movie at an advanced screening last week and said it had lots of Batman references.

I think its sad (and typical) that in this argument the person who is making the most sense through logical and deductive reasoning is being outnumbered 4 to 1 by troglodytic fanboys.

Might I just point out the fact that his username is Retard, so your statement of stupid ass is a bit redundant, considering he literally comes right out and says it.
As for this debate that you're having, no one is trashing Keaton, Bale, or Ledger. They are all great performers and they have all given great performances. All that we are saying is that Kevin Conroy is our definitive Batman.
You're the one being childish here. You keep stating that Bale and Keaton gave more to the role. Ok so Keaton did what, two movies? Bale did three. Conroy has done B:TAS, Batman Beyond, both Justice Leagues, the Arkham franchise, the most recent digital shorts, and countless direct to video DVDs. The guys first big role was Batman, and you know what he's done since? Voice Batman!!!! The man has literally giving his life to the character, doing countless promotions for him, doing countless roles, and giving the name Batman a great role in media.
Now don't get me wrong, his animators are great too. Bruce Timm and Paul Dini and co. are literally the men. They are in fact so great and generally correspond with Conroy, that when I and other fanboys mention Conroy is our favorite Batman, we mean his portrayal along with all that the others did.
Now Conroy doesn't have to be your favorite Batman, but don't you fucking dare diss the man who has given his fucking life to the role and is literally the voice of Batman for a generation.
At certain points within your argument it almost sounds as if you're trashing voice actors. Sure Conroy has never, as you put it, "donned the suit." That's because he is a voice actor. That doesn't make him any less of an actor. Voice acting is a different art, which is part of what you're saying. But the way you're saying sounds diminishing. Voice acting requires a different talent than acting. Acting you get a screen presence, you act you're character. In voice acting one must show emotion and act through his/her voice. Then yes the animators do a lot of work on the animation. It's a team effort. But so is acting, the actor works with a team as well.
And yes Conroy gets payed, I didn't say otherwise. So did Kane and Bale. Amazing, they get paid to do their profession wow! That doesn't change what all Conroy does outside of pay. He's not forced to do interviews or show up to panels. By the way he's also very heavy in community service.
As for your insult to intelligence, that is a pathetic blow. Never did I once in my argument diminish your intelligence. You know why? Cause I don't know you. You stated on some other feed you do some science that I don't remember what. That's cool man, congrats. In all seriousness, that is great, I love that we have intelligent people in our industries.
However I did call you childish, because within this feed you are childish. You're arguing that Conroy doesn't count as a definitive Batman, even though you're arguments literally will not change mine or any other persons views on it. For us Conroy is the definitive Batman. He doesn't have to put on a suit to be Batman, he's Batman because of all the work he's done with Batman and because he provided the voice for many of our first and greatest Batman. Bruce Timm and co then provided the character model, animation and scripts that gave said voice life. Just like how Burton and co gave Keaton a costume and script and Nolan and co did for Bale. Both of whom I love. Seeing Batman Begins got me back into comics after a significant lull that I went through, I owe that movie a lot and I love Bale as Batman.
But for me when I read and think Batman I hear Conroy's voice and think Timm's designs and nothing you say will change that.
Great stuff! My Batman has to be Kevin Conroy! Who I just saw live a couple nights ago at the Batman at 75 event and Kevin Smith was there too. But for live action Bats, I have to give it to Michael Keaton! I would love a Batman Beyond movie with Keaton or Clint Eastwood playing old Bruce.

Is it wrong to love all three? My favorite live-action Batman (so far) is Christian Bale and my all-time favorite Batman is Kevin Conroy, but I still think Michael Keaton did a damn fine job. And I'll take ANY OF THEM over Adam West. ;)
It's totally unfair to hate on Adam West. He played Batman at a very different time in the character's history. His show/movie was a comedy. You can't fault the guy for that, he played a great Batman given the circumstances.
And I'd take West over Kilmer or a Clooney any day.
I just came off a rant protecting Conroy and now to protect West.
As previously stated West played Batman and a different time in his career. At this point Batman was campy. And there is nothing wrong with that. I love the dark brooding cape-crusader as much as the next guy, but Batman doesn't have to always be brooding. Sometimes it's great to watch a campy Batman that makes puns and jokes. West portrayed a hilarious Batman and for a long time was the definitive Batman for people just as Conroy is for many today. As Kevin Smith put it at Batman's 75th panel, you can't hate West because when everyone was younger they loved West and to this day his show is still popular. Why do you think there is a successful comic based on it, a soon to be released crossover with Green Hornet, and the soon to be released Blu- ray editions?

I thought Kilmer was great. I thought he was easily the best Batman of the 90s bunch. Acting wise he and Keaton are probably even, but Kilmer brought more of a traditional look for Batman/Bruce. And Forever is my favorite movie of that bunch. It was dark when it needed to be, goofy when it needed to be, without going too far in either direction. The exact opposite of both Returns and B&R in other words.
Notice how the only Batman who's head is pointed in the direction of his eyes, and who is also a real person, is Bale?

Neighbors was hilarious. Rose Byrne is AWESOME. Keaton's Batvoice paved the way for Conroy's. A sort of low-pitched, serious and intelligent sounding voice, is what one would imagine, Batman would sound like. Bale and Nolan..... went the opposite way. An official look at Affleck's Batsuit should hit the internet in literally days!

The film's production is supposed to start in late May, IF I'm not mistaken. I'll be surprised if pictures of the costumes aren't released next week or the week after.

Inside information? More like public information. If production of the film starts in late May. You don't have to be Batman, to deduce that the pictures of the costumes will invade the internet, in the next couple of weeks.

That anybody would even debate Bale being the best is utterly insane. Bale is one of the greatest actors of his generation. He has proven that time and time again. The day Kevin Conroy can out act Christian Bale in any role imaginable will be the day they serve ice water in Hades.
Conroy is actually better than Bale. He was always a natural and he started doing theater acting since he was a kid. He was also a student of the famous Juilliard acting school and he actually shared a dorm with Robin Williams. In my opinion theater acting is so much harder than film because you're on a Hollywood set where the director yells "cut" every time you fuck up. Not in theater. You have to consistently prepare and go over each and every scene. I believe he also did Shakespeare as well, which if you've never done it, is very hard. Trust me, Conroy is an excellent actor and am glad he's the voice of our greatest Superhero

No he's a great voice actor and theater actor considering the fact he was top of his class in drama during High School and went to one of the most prestigious acting schools of all time. There's a huge difference between film acting and theater acting. Please stop underestimating Conroy.
