Batboat

If not handled correctly, the Batboat could end up looking laughable on the big screen. Over the years, Batman has used it to travel both on and under water, and this month’s issue of Batman and Aquaman showed just how great it can be when utilised properly in the pages of the comics. While we know that Lex Luthor will be in Batman vs. Superman, we have no idea what other sorts of threats that The World’s Finest dup will end up facing, but putting the Caped Crusader in a vehicle such as the one pictured above would mean that we’d get to see Batman in a much different setting to what we’re used to in the movies. Just leave the Bat-Shark Repellent at home, ok Bruce?

  I'm thinking that guy who directed Gone Baby Gone should get a chance at the role. He might not work in the role, but I think it'd be interesting to see what he does with the character in this movie universe.

They didn't make the list, but I'd like to see some good old-fashioned Batarangs! They were used briefly by Nolan, but I'd like to see them get a bit more spotlight.

    Batarangs have been used by nearly every incarnation of the character: both Burton films, Forever, (not sure if Cloony used them, he mostly used the grapple), and we saw him personally craft and use them several times in Begins, though they were more like knives or shurikens, similar to how Frank Miller imagined them. I'm not sure if they were used much in TDK or Rises.

Gadgets shmadgets. I want to see a Batman who gets by on his smarts, physical abilities and intimidation/fear. I am so sick of this obsession with impossible gadgets that solve every problem he ever faces.

  To a certain degree, it's also undeniable that gadgets are an essential part of Batman's arsenal. I get where you're coming from, but there's also that amazing moment when Batman grapples onto his Batwing or rolls through a wall in the Batmobile, goosebumps.

I loved the Batjet in Batman Arkham Asylum. Something like that would be very cool on the BIG screen! Still hope Snyder will use IMAX for this!!!

If Affleck does go on to direct his own Batman film, I'd bet we'll get more of the detective side. With Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Argo, Affleck is one of the modern kings of the thriller genre, so I would imagine that's the direction he'd be most comfortable with.

zack snyder already said that there's no such thing as kryptonite in his MoS universe, so the the ring is out; i guess they will come up with a more original idea of how would batman manage a confrontation with supes.

    elaborating a little more on my previous comment: there's no kryptonite on Snyder's MoS; however, he did put something similar: remember the technology on board Zod's ship that briefly deprived kal from his powers? well, batman (or bruce maybe, or lex perhaps) could somehow get his hands on that thing, since all that technology got scattered when kal blew it up in the end, so no ring but maybe some gadget that accomplishes the same thing.

      The technology you refer to, if I'm correct, is the World Engine right? Since that created Krypton's atmosphere and that made Clark weaker around it.
      I don't think they'll use that again.
      However, I do think the massive destruction in Metropolis is going to play a big role in BvS and it could link to Lex's main goal to get rid off Supes, amongst other reasons of course :P Think about it, Zod's armor is on top on a LexCorp building, the World Engine in the Indian Sea is still there (although, what is left of it) and parts of the old Krypton scout ship lay in the ashes of Metropolis although I think finding that back in one piece is a bit excessive.
      I would love there to be Kryptonite in BvS. It could be from the leftover materials from the battle that started to transform or react or something like that… It would be Supes' weakness that Lex and Bruce can use against him. Lex in the form of Metallo and Bruce in the form of a ring with which he can throw damaging punches to Superman.
      But we just have to wait and see how this all turns out!

        you may be actually right, but i can´t help hoping that they make a batman that shows his resourcefulness in more creative ways; i wouldn´t like superman to be powered down in order to beat him in a battle; on the other hand, i would love to see batman using his trademark wits to overcome kal despite his incredible strength, but as you're saying, we'll just have to wait and see.

        I would put money on kryptonite showing up in some form in BvS. Explaining that the effects of the World Engine created small amounts of a never before seen, green mineral to appear around the world would tie this movie into MoS, and explain why it didn't come into play sooner. It's a better explanation for why it exists than meteors, and is the first thing I thought of when the idea of terraforming Earth was revealed.
        If this were my movie to make, part of the plot would involve Wayne Enterprises and LexCorp in competition to acquire and research kryptonite and Kryptonian technology. It would create a nice comparison between Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor, and help make it feel like it makes sense for Batman to be involved in the movie.

        I completely agree. I also thought LexCorp and Wayne Enterprises wanted to get a hold of the remaining alien parts in Metropolis and the Indian Ocean. Not to forget, Wayne Enterprises lost one of it's satellites!
        Besides getting a hold of those things, Lex would probably want to set up Batman against Superman (as was also rumored some time ago) Not to forget that Bruce should have his own intentions to get to know more about this Superman. All in all, it's only logical that Bruce is involved in this story. It just makes sense.

      It wasn't really Zod's tech it was the atmosphere in the ship the atmosphere was set to that of Krypton which had the atmosphere that had the Red Sun that causes Superman to lose his powers in the comics

Some honorable mentions include: The sniper riffle grapple gun from Frank Miller's TDKR, Freeze and glue grenades, Shock-Gloves, Bat heat-ray gun, and most importantly, Shark Repellent Bat Spray.

I'd actually say he did a decent amount of detective work in TDK but there's room for more. Kinda want to see an armored suit, but that might be too much. Gotta use Batarangs more; they've been pretty lacking in most of the movies.

  The ONLY time he used Batarangs in the Nolan trlogy was one time in Batman Begins.... VERY DISAPPOINTING. And it was for a light bulb.....

As long as their rendition of Batman is able to put up an amazing fight scene, similar to how the character moves in the Arkham games. Batman should be that fluid, quick and fast.

  I don't know, I think it made a lot of sense the way it was done in TDK. I mean it would be some sort of glasses/lens as opposed to some sorta white contact lens. Of course it could be some sort of future tech contact lens; but the former just seems more feasible is all I'm saving :)
  On a similar note I always though the live action Batman cowl should have some lens covering the eye holes (design the cowl around something like wrap-around lens of Oakley glasses) as oppose to the way they've always done it. It would avoid them having to do the whole "black make-up around the eyes" bit plus they can throw all manner of tech behind it.

  I always thought he should have reverse engineered a green and yellow ring and made a weaker, Waynetech black ring that produces opaque black constructs: thought controlled suit, cape, gadgets, vehicles etc. All black with varying degrees of power based on its charge and his will to exact justice.

    The reason the writers would never let the character do that, is the same reason he doesn't where an armored Iron Man-like suit all the time. Less drama and a lot less suspense, when he battles the more "human" villains.

    The irony is that Batman never touches alcohol.
    (Well, that's how it was until recently. Now Batman probably guzzles testosterone-lowering alcohol while hanging out with back-from-the-dead Jason Todd, the 16 different Robins, all the lesbians in Batman's social circle, and so on. But in the 80's and 90's - and implied in the Nolan Trilogy - it was explicit that he never touched the brain-fogging, testosterone-dropping, beer gut-creating shit.)

    the grappling hook is there in every batman movie, but in its most conventional use: to help batman go up buildings and hang perps upside down (joker in batman and flass in begins); it would be nice to see batman using his grappling gun in-fight, pulling bad guys towards him to melee them, disarm them or just for wrecking all kinds of havoc, you know what i mean?

    That's fair. But I don't think that HuffPost means "the HuffPost editorial staff" when they say, "Why we must stop Idaho bakeries from not making cakes for gay weddings", and similar types of headlines. In the context it's always used, "we", they are clearly claiming to speak for everybody.
    (And just for future reference, I don't think that saying "....what Batman News would like...." is bad at all. In fact, it's both dropping your name and making a headline in one post.)

      The difference is telling others what "we think" vs telling them "what we should do". See, in the first case, the we is informing the non-we of what they might not have known. If they were already "we", why tell them? In the second case, the we is inclusive because it is saying "you and I are in a community with similar opinions, thus, Here are reasons why you and I (we) should work together to accomplish said goals. So it is logically implied that you and I are not in this "we", since they are sharing with us, not mobilizing us, preaching at us or saying they are us.

        Yes, there are many contexts of "we".
        In this context, which is a story headline where neither the subject, the number of implied subjects, or the audience is a known factor, the "we" is at best confusing, and at worst a presumptuous declaration that the writer speaks for all parties involved. (It is this last usage which is the most common since the "we" fad began in the past five years or so.)
        Just ten years ago - certainly twenty years ago - virtually every modern news usage of "we" would have been scrapped by an editor because it was illogical, unprofessional, and bias.

If your problem is what "editors are supposed to not allow because its bad english" blah blah blah.... okay, maybe you have a point, it shouldn't matter. If people understand, and it serves a purpose, and you're the only person complaining then look really hard in the mirror and ask:" why am I the only person who cares about this? Is it really important? Why did other people understand what was meant?"

This is a pretty comprehensive list. At this point, I just want to see the damn suit. Once we see that, we will probably have a better understanding of the direction they are going with the character.
