First look at Bruce Timm's DC Nation short 'Batman: Strange Days'

Bruce Timm brought us Batman: The Animated Series in the 90's and to celebrate Batman's 75th anniversary he's developed a new animated short titled Batman: Strange Days. Here's a brief synopsis:

A brand new short from producer Bruce Timm featuring a lost tale from Batman’s past, the Dark Knight tracks a strange giant to the mysterious layer of Dr. Hugo Strange.

Batman: Strange Days will air on Cartoon Network on Wednesday, April 9th, 2014 after an all-new episode of Teen Titans Go!. I'll have it available for you all right here on Batman News as soon as it comes online. For now, check out some still photos from Batman: Strange Days in the gallery below.

Is there voice acting? It looks very much as though it is a "prequel" to Batman: TAS. Before anyone says it I know he created Batman: TAS however, looking at Hugo Strange he is the exact same as TAS does anyone know if this is intentional?

Batman met Strange for the first time in an episode of the animated series, meaning it couldn't be a prequel. He probably just reused the design.

Batman also looks the exact same as he did in the "Justice League/Justice League Unlimited" animated series. Maybe this short takes place within the DC Animated Universe?

  Well Bruce Timm did help create that entire universe and drew the character designs for many of the characters, so it makes sense that the short would look similar

This shot will be based on the classic 'The Giants of Hugo Strange', the first appearence of The Monster Men. Awesome look!

I agree. It looks like the story in Batman #1 "Professor Hugo Strange and the Monsters" by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson. I believe it was also adapted by Matt Wagner called, "Batman and the Monster Men."

looks like it borrows the concept from batman black & white comics: short stories in film noir style, some of them without any dialogue whatsoever, so it wouldn't surprise me if this was in fact silent. looks good to me.

Freaking THANK YOU! God, I can't express how happy I am to see the Timm-inspired animation instead of that stupid, dead, synthetic, mechanical, isolated-moving, pseudo-anime, crappy, awful, brain dead, moronic, amateur, retard animation that has been popular with the direct-to-video animated movies. Plus, it's one of my all-time favorite '40s stories, so extra brownie points!
