Updates on 'Batman vs. Superman' filming, the Batmobile, and more

Batman on Film's trusted source "Dr. Detroit" is back with some Batman vs. Superman rumors. He says that Zack Snyder and the cast will be filming at the Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac around mid-March. On location shoots in Michigan aren't scheduled to begin until "late spring", at the earliest.

Dr. Detroit also suggests that the Batman vs. Superman football scene which Zack Snyder shot last fall will be scrapped. Ben Affleck's Oscar winning Argo writer, Chris Terrio, has been brought in to re-write a majority of Batman vs. Superman and a lot of stuff has been changed.

Lastly, Dr. Detroit says that the new Batmobile is currently in Los Angeles and is being filmed. It's unclear if this is for a scene in the movie, or if it's just a promotional photo shoot. I think the latter is much more likely. Speaking of photo shoots... if the rumors are correct, we could be getting our first look at Ben Affleck as Batman as early as this month. Im worried about how power they have taking (or not, because nothing was officialy confirm) from Zack Snyder in that project. For me, much in Man of Steel worked because of him.

  I find the more control Terrio and Affleck have in the script, the better. Then afterwards Snyder can make it work wonders on screen.

    Absolutely agree. Terrio and Affleck clearly are better writers than Goyer and Snyder imo, but Snyder is an incredible visual director, he just isn't the best at making a story.

  For better or worse, make no mistake this is Zack Snyder's movie. He's said before that him and Nolan both agreed that movies by committee always suck. The rewriting is probably minor dialog and screen play stuff. The unpopular castings are on Snyder.

This type of re write happens with movies all the time. You come up with the first script which is like a rough draft, then you have other writers brain storm with you and tweak elements and add and take away things to help the story flow better. I doubt that the Argo writer came in and just did his thing and what he wanted, that's just not how it works.

  And thats the point im about very skeptical of Goyer's script been full scrapped. Of course Warner wanna bring Terrio and Affleck close to them and keeping him happy, but i think have more on it and its not about of how might ben become. Maybe he have power to give some opinions of how Batman have to be portrait but i dont see him as DC"s Kevin Feige. Its David Goyer's work, and bring Terrio finish 2 problems at once resharp the script (because Goyer its to busy with everthing DC right now) and please Affleck. Because probably WB want Affleck e Terrio for his new Batman, and they are right to make everthing confortable for when this happen. But i dont believe this move take all power from Snyder's hand. He still doing the BvS (and probably Justice League) with WB's neck by neck. And, get real guys; Affleck will not direct Justice League. Batman have much more in common with his voice as author/director. Terrio is probably doing the rewrite what Goyer script needs. Change all the script require change also all the locations, sets, etc. And doing all that in 1.5/2 months is a very small time to do it right. Soo no, Goyer ideas was probably not scrapped.

I don't know—I think MoS was hampered by Goyer writing it solo. The entire Dark Knight Trilogy stands out in comparison, but the Nolan's fingerprints are all over that—and not just in the sense of Christopher Nolan's direction. If you even look at projects that didn't have Goyer involved—The Prestige, Inception—the writing is considerably better. Phenomenal, some might say.
I don't mean to slam Goyer. I think he's good at crafting stories—I think the story of MoS was fine enough. But the dialog and execution of the story definitely wasn't up to the standard established by the DKT. But looking at other projects, I think he excels when others spruce up his work. I'm all for Oscar-nominated/winning writers polishing this thing.

if they re write its is because goyer scripts are always piece of crap: Blade trinity, Ghost rider 2??? man of steel was good because of the action and a good Director not because of a strong script. Its like Alfonso Cuaron´s Gravity, the screenplay its terrible but the take its so good that he achieve many best director awards. By the way Terrio is a young writer, not many movies in stock, I dont find argo so amuzing. No one its at the level of screenwriting like Nolan and there are few great writers, but most of them are into other genres. Would be great to watch a super hero movie by tarantino, charlie kaufman, daniel gerson, but haha I dont see them making this type of movies and maybe would be awful.

Really happy to see Chris Terrio is rewriting a giant portion of the script though I hope the story itself doesn't change all that much. Goyer is great with stories. They must be changing quite a bit, I guess the delay was due to script reworking?

  I thought his work on Argo was fantastic though I think that's all he's worked on so far. Either way, he won an Oscar for his first major project, one can only wonder what he'll do with Batman Vs. Superman.

    I think Ben Affleck will be great and seeing that Terrio is involved gives me a lot of hope for the movie, I just really have a hard time being hopeful with Zach Snyder as the director. He seemed really satisfied with Man of Steel (a movie I thought was one-dimensional and frankly bland in so many ways) so while I want to believe his confidence in BvS is warranted, I'm having a difficult time being hopeful

      I really enjoyed watching man of steel i don't know y people are upset?! Maybe because it didnt have that edge the dark knight did but that is excaly it...it doesn't need to! The dark knight's edge represents batman & man of steel's boldness & simplicity represents superman! Man of steel was not just an amazing superman movie it was a very nice movie in general. The scenery & story unfolded in a very professional way. I've watched a couple hundred times :)
      Am i the only one who likes MOS??!

    Goyer has been involved in so many successful projects from Blade to the DK trilogy (don't mention blade 3) why the f*** would his word need to be re written?! Goyer loosing his touch? Is Terrio some CEO's bitch?
    Argo was alot better than i thought it would be, but i didn't like how the escape was possible due to 'dumb guards'....it was a bit limp, even though it was done well enough.

Agreed! I actually love Goyer's stories but his scripts just aren't that good. Hopefully this is Goyer's story with Terrio's amazing script!

I f****** knew it! Filming the football scene was simply a stunt trying to scare Marvel. I'm pretty sure WB lost their s***at that time because of the Ben Affleck fan backlash + Marvel already having a title for the movie/mini teaser revealing the villain. So they asked Zack to do something so the fans would think their pre-production was way ahead of Marvel. They clearly had no idea from the beginning how they were going to make the World's Finest.

From the LAST minute photoshopped logo shown at comic con to the lack of a title for the movie/BEING RE-WRITTEN BY CHRIS TERRIO! to Zack still scouting for film locations TO THE MOVIE BEING DELAYED FOR 10 MONTHS!

LOL then they make Amy Adams lie the script is 100% ready.

F*** it I STILL have faith in this movie even though it wants to die. All that is left for me is to see the new Batsuit/other designs/Hans Zimmer's return.
The Batsuit and the other costume/designs will tell us fans how much HEART/CARE/DEDICATION they have put in for what I believe can still be the best movie of ALL TIME!

He's written like one movie, so what if that one movie was good? It had nothing to do with superheroes. Goyer has proven at the least that he truly loves superheroes and understands them and has a lot of experience with them. Do we know if me academy award winning writer even knows anything about superman? I really love what I heard from Latino review with lex being tough and self made. I want to see that. I want to see Goyers vision, not some other guys who's never made a superhero movie. He could be the one to truly ruin the movie for lack of understanding the dc universe

  Nah, they just handed out Gotham University Shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies. The only people wearing metropolis University clothing were the extras on the field. They did a few takes, one where we had to cheer like crazy because a gotham player tacked down a metropolis player, and one where we had to boo because metropolis made a touchdown, which caused a fight between teams. We were told it was the opening scene of the movie. But I guess it isn't anymore. lol

Must say I am surprised how many people are okay with Goyer. It was nice to have a superman movie but damn MoS had issues plot-wise, even characterizing Clark/Kal-El/Superman.

I;m just worried, does anyone know if Chris Terrio is any close to comic books? He won't make a schumacher out of it, but his thing won't be like that one that was released about a 'never done JLA movie', RIGHT?

I was wondering the same thing. People have their complaints about Goyer but at least Goyer is a well known, long time comic book fan. Chris Terrio has Argo but besides that he's a huge question mark.

I think they know exactly what they're doing. The change in script just shows that they want to make this right, and actually heard the people who had a problem with Goyer. I seriously think they're shooting back-to-back.

Once again wrong, I've had several conversations with people who hate the way WB are going with this film and have presented other very interesting approaches they would have preferred; point is, they don't bash and whine about everything, they actually present an argument. Still the same response? Still whining about the analogy? It was a simple and easily understandable analogy, nothing more, nothing less. Want another example? okay, I hated the Gal Gadot casting, did i bash her or the studio? No. You can look anywhere and you will not find a single comment that had me bashing her or the studio. The only thing I ever said about the topic was that she was going to have to ignore the pressure in order to successfully pull off WW and carry her own franchise. No one here said you have to be on board with all of WB/DC's decisions, just know how to present those opinions without coming off as an immature and rebellious teenager.
