   i just don't like the idea of Batman Beyond in the regular DCU52, i guess because it meant the animated series lived on thru Batman Beyond comics.
   and BROTHER EYE? again? seriously? is he going to be involved in every weekly?

   Not sure why they chose to make it only 5 years in the future...In the span of only 10-12 years we have gone from Batman just getting started to Batman Beyond?

   Batman Beyond is still going to be Bruce right becuase it wouldnt make any sense for Bruce to retire after what only 10 years of fighting

   I don't worry myself with this, as I strictly read the main Batman title every month. I don't care about Beyond, or Detective Comics, Batman and (???),or The Dark Knight run, or any of the other off shoots. In my mind, Batman is the main head of the herd where any real story worth considering continuity will take place. For me, until an event is mentioned, alluded to, or even cut-away shown in the main title, I don't bother with knowing the details.

   Like how can Batman be busy fighting the Court of the Owls in one run, but facing off against...who was it again? Scarecrow...? I figure the other titles are simply filler for those wanting more Bats.

    Well we saw it (the Beyond suit), or at least a prototype in Batman #20 and the Batwing suit is a lot like the Beyond suit, so it's not too far etched to have it be completed 5 years later... I'm not sure it'll be Terry, probably Bruce or something, but who knows!

    Now, while I really respect the Paul Dini/Bruce Timm animated universe, I think making it, especially parts of Batman Beyond, cannon, is a serious problem.
    For one. In Batman Beyond, Dick Grayson had never fixed his fall out with Bruce from the Batman: The Animated Series. If some of you remember, he leaves as Robin, but never patches things up as Nightwing. In the DC Current continuity, he seems to have patched things up... so will they make him fall out again?
    2) There was the very critiqued (frankly, much hated) Bruce Wayne and Barbara Gordon relationship. A lot of that turned people off from the series, and Batman Beyond also eluded too/acknowledged it. It was creepy, like if a girl would date her uncle, or just the idea of dating your ex-boyfriends dad turned a lot of people off, it seemed really out of character.
    3) Jason Todd never existed, and Tim Drake gets joker-ized, things that were really fun to see in the animated series, and Batman Beyond, don't translate into the current cannon.

    All in all, what I think DC's doing is, they've seen the outcry of the fanbase because of the New 52 shell-of-a-continuity, and are trying to "fix" it (cover it up) by making Batman Beyond, and by extension, Justice League Beyond, cannon.

    *Sidenote, Bruce is currently 29 or 30 at best. Grayson and Barbara are 21 or 22... they aged A LOT in 5 years if this is the case.

       I thought the Bruce/Barbara thing was kind of hot. Never knew people thought negatively of it.

       Fact is, Bruce ISN'T her uncle so it's fair game.

          I think it's because it's never been that way in the comics. She's always been her own person, and the moment she started dating Bruce, she became a plot device to further drive apart Nightwing and Batman.
          Also, if you've played Injustice, and fought Batgirl vs. Catwoman, you'll can get a little banter which Selena Kyle goes "Batmans mine!" and Babs responds "Ew." It felt like DC or Netherrealm also acknowledged that Batgirl and Batman just isn't something they were proud of.
          Lastly, it was felt really out of character. So Bruce would date his adopted son's ex-girlfriend... because... reasons... and Barbara would date her ex-boyfriends adopted father, because... reasons... and both were non-awkward about it... because... reasons... And both didn't give a shit about Grayson... because... reasons...

             They should just take terry and the general premise of batman beyond while following the New 52 continuity. So Dick would be old Nightwing and everything is cool. Tim Drake become Red Robin, Red Hood happened, all that. I think just drop the Batman Beyond Characters in this universe and not be held by old continuity. Think of it as an alternate universe like we always hear about in DC. Characters largely the same but events may have happened differently.

    Would it be too much to ask for a written out explaination of the New 52? Which comics were affected, which weren't, is there a carryover from, what is now, the old DCU?

    Brother Eye versions of JL? Is that what I'm seeing?! And Batman Beyond?!

    ...I hope they introduce Terry Mcguinnes, not make the whole Beyond Universe into Canon because it's pretty much Batman-centered.
    I mean, Superman Beyond is cool and all... But I rather keep what we already have, please?

    Well we can't judge a book by its cover (or summary in this case). Though having Beyond series coming in the New 52 year timeline so soon might be a bad idea since the time difference between this and the other comics are so short, but all we know this may turn out to interesting.
