The first major DLC add-on for Batman: Arkham Origins will be released tomorrow, December 3rd, on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam, and Nintendo eShop for $6.99. The new DLC titled "Initiation" will allow players to train as Bruce Wayne in the Paektu-San Mountains of North Korea. Check out the new trailer and press release for more info.

Tomorrow, Dec. 3, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be releasing the Initiation Challenge Map Add-On for Batman: Arkham Origins on the PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE online entertainment network from Microsoft, Steam and Nintendo eShop for $6.99. The Initiation Add-On focuses on Bruce Wayne before he donned his cowl, and introduces a new challenge campaign with four unique challenge maps and two original skins – Initiation Bruce Wayne and Vigilante Bruce Wayne. Players who have purchased the Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass and are connected to the Internet will have instant access to the content.

Set high in the Paektu-San Mountains of North Korea, the Initiation Add-On follows a young Bruce Wayne as he faces his ultimate test. Players will embark upon a series of challenge maps that test their martial arts training across exotic locales, including a bamboo forest and a mountain top monastery. Fans will face fresh enemies along with an epic final test to prove their worthiness to Bruce’s greatest and most pitiless teacher, Kirigi.

    Next Sunday is the VGX maybe there will be an announcement from Rocksteady about the "real"
    and next Arkham game.

      My money is on JLA game.
      Because they made clear that atleast the flash and superman are batman's ally's in the arkham universe. And it will explain why it is taking so long until they announce a new game.

        Kevin Conroy already said he spent months working on the next Arkham Game. If Superman's in it at all, it's a cameo and not much else.

        The franchise is now too valuable to stop it and since everybody is demanding for Rocksteady to take over again I am expecting another Arkham game finally set in actual Gotham City, the next game must go the distance to deliver more in terms of quality, story and scope, otherwise they better not even bother..

          Speak for yourself. I'll play a million games the exact way they are made as long as its a good story. The "format" that they have going is perfect for a Batman game/story.

            The format? What format? Roaming around in the same empty locations for another one? No thank you, I want something more next time. This series is amazing but it´s only normal we ask for a even greater game don´t you agree?

            Of course I would like the games to improve. But I think this is a classic case of hype making people think the game was going to be something that transcended space and time.

            The only real complaint I have is that sometimes you run out of places to grapple.

            But, they gave us a freaking BATCAVE that you can go to at any time. And you can talk to Alfred and get XP points. I would always go back to the batcave when I was done playing the game (because it made me feel more like Batman!)

            And they gave us different types of opponents, such as the martial artists. And even the "big dudes" were different than the Titan thugs of Arkham Asylum.

            And they gave us an enhanced detective mode. They made it a little too easy being that all you do is follow the red markers, but the same was true in Arkham City. It became a little more interactive, and they're only going to improve on this aspect of the game.

            I don't mind the empty city streets as long as a good excuse is given story-wise. Severe winter storm making it near zero degrees, plus a bunch of prison breakouts and assassins running around trying to kill Batman....good enough for me. Is it an extremely convenient excuse for them not to render civilians into the game? ABSOLUTELY! But you cannot deny that a good excuse was given. It wasn't glossed over. Plus, we had the civilian hotel employees and the bank employee which I thought brought a little "life" to the city.

            I don't know...it seems people won't be satisfied until you can literally be Batman; go up to Wayne Manor and have a glass of water, call up Silver St. Cloud for some action, go and make a new Batmobile from scratch, etc.

            I'm satisfied with ARKHAM ORIGINS. It's not perfect, but far from a bad game. Everyone has their opinion, but I think it's ludicrous to say that they "shouldn't even bother" making more games like this. I'd play them all day.

            P.S. I thought this was the best story of the games so far. Batman had to do something and it made it "I only work alone" slap him in the face and his character developed. In Arkham City, Batman was faced with the problem of Hugo Strange knowing his identity. Instead of him thinking of a creative solution to this, the writers had Ra's al Ghul kill Hugo Strange and Ra's al Ghul sorta died himself (plus it's above him to reveal Batman's identity. He has bigger plans.) Batman tried to save Talia from the Joker, but as soon as he got there Talia escaped herself. Why was Batman needed? And he insisted on working alone despite having Nightwing and Robin at his disposal. This never paid off story wise. He worked alone the whole time, problems got fixed for him, and he was none the wiser.

            In ARKHAM ORIGINS, Batman insisted on working alone and this bit him in the ass. At the end, he realized that he DOES need allies. And he took all those assassins down himself, except Electrocutioner whom Joker killed, but that went with the story and with the Joker's personality. Plus, Batman already defeated Lester earlier, albeit in a joke-boss fight.

            Just my thoughts.

            I do like the format too. I don't know why everyone wants to deviate from the "This takes place in one day" thing. Batman: Arkham Series is a game that thrives on storyline. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City has the same game play but it is the story that makes it fresh.

      I just noticed the awards aren't being on TV anymore? WTF? They're only showing highlights 2 nights later. That's cool. I'm sure I won't know everybody who won by then.

        They changed the name it will be broadcast on the web. It won't even be like traditional award shows. I believe they will be in studio with developers and just announce winners.

    Why haven't you reviewed the game? I seem to remember you saying on twitter that you completed the campaign in 10 hours and would have a review up in a few days?

      Unfortunately the game was extremely buggy and it froze on me about 12 times as I was trying to play. There are still some major bugs on the Xbox 360 version of the game (that's what I have). I think the gameplay and story is fantastic. On par (maybe even better) than Rocksteady's... but the game is just way too buggy. It's a shame.

        You should still type up a review. You said you completed the story. And you can comment in your review about how buggy it was!

        Fortunately, I had no problems with bugs. Just froze a couple times when I did fast travel.

        Sorry, I know you're busy but I just want a review of a Batman game from my favorite Batman site!

    If you haven't tried the game since patch 1.4 I highly suggest you do. It seemed to fix everything for me and I was finally able to finish off the stuff I couldn't do previously.

    Oh shit, Initiation and Vigilante Bruce Wayne skins sound good, and so does the "story", and of course new maps are cool too, but the fact that I saw Shiva in there just means I need to get the Season Pass in my hands like now!

          It might still be rolling out in your area. It just came out today, but they release it slowly all over the world to help with stability.

      It's both. It's kind of like the Black Mask maps in Arkham City. Challenge maps with some narrative tossed here and there.

      You clearly never read a comic have you? Of course not, or else you would know who Kirigi is and why he's in the DLC.

      There's more to Batman other than the Nolan films, thanks for revealing how fake a fan you are for everyone.

    OK I may be slow but how do I download this? I have a season pass already. Usually it just prompts me with new downloadable content when I launch the game from the xbox menu but got nothing today to download.
