Last Saturday, Kevin Smith hosted a live Man of Steel Q&A featuring Zack Snyder, Amy Adams, and Henry Cavill. Later that day Smith went over to The Improv in Brea, CA to record his podcast, Hollywood Babble-On. On the show, he revealed that after the Man of Steel Q&A ended, director Zack Snyder pulled him aside. He took out his iPhone and showed Smith a picture of Ben Affleck in the new Batman vs. Superman Batsuit! Naturally, Smith freaked out:

You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before. And for a comic book fan, it was mind-bending. Only [Zack Snyder] has enough power to pull this off.

Smith also confirmed an important piece of info... there are no nipples on Ben Affleck's Batsuit! He even said who (or what) influenced the new design, but unfortunately they bleeped it on the podcast! Update: a fan who was at the live recording says that it was "Jim Lee" that got bleeped on the podcast.

      I agree with you Stefan. And I bet it looks similar to the New 52 Justice League suit!! I bet the fact that Kevin Smith said "it's always been a Matrixy-Black type suit" that it will be mostly gray with a Black Cowl, Gloves, Boots, and Symbol. Kind of like the Arkham City Suit to some extent. But again, I think it will look mostly like the New 52 Justice League Batman suit. If you also look at the #1 issue of that series, the Man Of Steel Superman suit looks very close to that as well.

            Agreed. Bale always looked weird in the suit to me, though I think that may have more to do with how it was designed.

          Do you think they'll go with Batman's original suit like it sounds like they're doing an old style batmobile? He could have the old cheesy looking suit as a crappy prototype he only uses once in his first foray before he does something much better. If Batman had graphite, graphene, carbyne, or a modified material to be as strong as graphene on his gloves (but where there's moving points so he can move his fingers with ease) he could knock out a guy without punching that hard. Then he'd ease his punches and just punch extremely fast to quickly subdue them. He might be getting to the point where he needs to put on a full body brace suit with servo motors in which case he'd be faster and stronger than Robocop in the new Robocop movie without any cyborg implants. If his servo motors were cold fusion or hydrogen powered they'd be extremely strong which technology exists for both.

        What I like about a more narrow build in Batman is that they'll promote his speed and skill instead of his strength. But I like Batman to have a bigger build as long as he can still have the same speed, maneuverability, and skill. I'd hate it if even as him being narrower if he's not that fast and strong if they make him generic. The combat hasn't really impressed me with the previous Batman and Christian Bale has done better combat in other movies. I thought the combat could have been a lot more real. He didn't hit that fast or that strong. He has a graphite suit which you should be able to knock someone out with one punch and it doesn't have to be that hard of a punch so the physics of that Batman was really stupid. Then he changed to a weaker kevlar suit that's nowhere near as strong as graphite. Graphite is currently the strongest material that's marketable while graphene is the strongest by far. Carbyne is even stronger but they don't know how to synthesize it and it would be extremely expensive. Batman is supposed to have the speed, strength, and skill of Bruce Lee. For Bruce Lee only being 135 pounds he was stronger than most 300 pound guys. He had a smaller build that could support 135 pounds but he got up to 165 pounds and then went back down between 135 pounds to 145 pounds. He did the anabolic steroid anavar but his natural training was also excellent. Bruce Lee did High Intensity Training heavy lifting and it was apart of his cross training High Intensity Interval Training style. He could have done things a lot better and those pain killers killed him, but his training was very safe. It's just a few mistakes he made that did him in. Nolan's Batman's fight scenes you just didn't connect with and Batman fought a lot better in the comic books. They'll need a really talented stunt double for the choreography but I doubt they'll bring Batman to that level. Batman's opponents have been very disappointing as far as combat goes in those movies but the actors did a good job. Bane's physique looked weak and out of shape. Even with choreography the actors have got to acquire a lot of skill on their own to fit with the reputation of the role. We don't need weak willed people for heroes or villains in movies. I thought Ra's was a great choice but his choreography could have been a lot better in Batman Begins as should have Batman's and all of the other enemies'. Lucius Fox could have made the graphite suit a lot better and the batmobile wasn't that impressive either. The Batwing could have been better. A light detachable graphite tank motorcycle would have been good, and that can also easily fly and submerge in water with Bruce Wayne's budget. With the technology we have now there's so much more that can be done with all of Batman's stuff. If this is a long going series and lasts to 10 to 20 years then by that time Batman's gear should improve a lot because of how much technology has been advancing. There's more you can do with Batman now than what you could have done 10 years ago. But even 10 years ago they could have built up Batman's skill a lot more. It was impressive that Batman counteracted the chemical agent in Gotham's water supply in Batman Begins but he should have found a way to prevent it. It's important for Batman to be highly skilled even without any technology. It's impressive what he can do with only his knowledge and skill rather than just the suit, the vehicles, the gizmos, and the weapons. His ability to invent useful tools is a great skill of his and he needs it against a lot of the enemies he goes against. His more complex knowledge of how to handle a situation with his knowledge of technology and his environment are key skills he has.

The movie lacked a message and negated what message it tried to make, same with The Dark Knight. Batman didn't take care of business just like in the previous movie and instead everything just came at him which a genius experienced billionaire like him should have had better approaches against his enemies. The enemies did a lot of stupid things too. He should have had an easy time catching Joker. He should have also had an easier time catching Ra's.)

          I doubt we'll get a good look officially between now and when the movie comes out. It'll probably just be teased unless someone leaks it.

            Makes sense, since they will be doing the major shooting of the film [fairly early] next year. Some set photos perhaps.

            Yeah, but there will be official photos released too. Affleck will be on every magazine cover in 2015 to promote the movie.

            Oh for sure, i am even wagering that in Q3 (August/September/or October) we will get a public teaser , and get a quick glimpse of that suit. Late 2014 till the movie hits Ben and Cavill will be all over magazines (I am hoping Cavill doesn't get shafted in the process)

          I'm sure we'll get the first official photo of Ben Affleck in the new suit anytime before they start shooting. It could be next month, it could be just a couple of days before principal photography begins. I'm looking forward to it!

          Can't speak for Chris, but I would not be surprised if the new suit is a mixture of the new 52 AND Lee Bremejo's (Batman:Noel). That would definitely warrant a bear hug from me.

    I hope they don't release a photo. That first official pic of Cavill as Superman looked so stupid it was the laughing stock of the internet for a couple of days and it 'bout gave me a heart attack. Then when it was in the movie he looked completely different. If a picture of Affleck in the suit comes out and it doesn't look perfect, the Affleck sucks flood gates are opened yet again.

      It was in the old universe, his design for the new universe is black and gray. I'd imagine that's what they're using here. Superman's suit in MoS looked a lot like the new 52 version.
