Warner Bros. president talks 'Batman vs. Superman', addresses Wonder Woman rumors

Warner Bros.' president of creative development and worldwide production, Greg Silverman, was a guest yesterday at the Variety Entertainment & Tech Summit. When asked if other DC Comics superheroes, such as Wonder Woman, would appear in Batman vs. Superman he had a lot to say:

We have been doing a lot of thinking for years about how to best use all those characters and we love them. Wonder Woman is an amazing character. I think it’s a great opportunity both for box office success, but also to have an amazingly powerful female superhero.
We are taking it all very seriously and are trying to do a plan that’s respectful to those characters and maximizes the stories as best they can. So everything that has been speculated are things that we’ve thought about.

It's been rumored that Warner Bros. is looking for a female lead for Batman vs. Superman, and some fans have speculated that it could be for the role of Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman.

Silverman praised Zack Snyder and David Goyer's script, saying "They’ve crafted a great story. I mean, this is where it all comes from for us. It’s just a great story that involves these amazing characters." He also had the following to say about the controversy surrounding Ben Affleck's casting as Batman:

We knew going in that we had more information than the general public had. We knew what the take of the movie was, we knew what the character was going to be. We don’t take these decisions lightly. We thought about everybody — brand new people, established people. Ben is the perfect guy to play this role.

    There's so much more culture and rich history they can bring in if a Kryptonian colony is still alive that Kara Zor-El is linked to. It just kills off so much spirit if there isn't a Kryptonian colony still around. 1984's Supergirl showed this special colony. Kandor doesn't count because it's a shrunken city.

If they're continuing to build the world of Man of Steel, introducing a new Batman and his world, introducing a new villain or two...how do they find time to throw in Wonder Woman?

I'm still betting the villain is Luthor and the female lead they're looking for is Mercy Graves. They could have Mercy revealed as an Amazon setting up a thread to bring in Wonder Woman next.

Yeah. I think it would be better if she is just teased or something, or has a cameo. It's Batman vs. Superman, so she shouldn't be a main focus.

Most bodyguards are really weak but they'll take the bullet. They can also take anyone away that poses Lex Luthor a problem in public because Lex Luthor likes to focus on the task at hand instead of getting his hands dirty with a distraction. Lex Luthor trains hard himself but he may not want to project the image that's he's as physically strong as he is because people might suspect he does criminal business, and if there are rumors of him doing black market criminal activities then he especially wouldn't want anyone to suspect him. Billionaires are supposed to be weak. You've got to make more sense of Lex Luthor and the sophisticated life he lives on both the light side and the dark side than just making him a mindless villain. Snyder was pretty good at this with Zod when it came to writing the nature of the character which he did better than the comics or previous movie decades ago but I can see them messing up with Lex Luthor since he is so complex a character. You want to find people in real life that get rich doing both legit businesses and highly illegal dangerous criminal activities which I'm sure you'll hear of some. I've heard of college universities having involvement of illegal business like this in real life, and then you have to bring it to the next degree since Lex Luthor takes it to another level. How can a normal human manage a group of superhuman villains? He creates a suit that makes him extra powerful but it's also because he's a great planner and there's a lot of benefit they have to it long term. He also wants to make it a huge profitable venture with the other villains so they have so much more to gain by letting him be the leader long term.

  It's not going to be called Man of Steel 2. It's going to be a Superman/Batman movie that takes place after MOS, making it a follow-up to MOS, while still being a Batman reboot. It's definitely NOT a "Man of Steel sequel with Batman in it". Not to mention that almost everyone (crew of the film included) have been calling it "Batman vs. Superman"... Clearly a film about both. lol

    Only because they don't want to give away the title. They probably already have a title just like they already knew who their Batman was going to be. It's all for marketing purposes to amp up the hype.
    Remember Comic Con and how that shit blew up?
    I think we'll know the title once they have a teaster trailer ready or some kind of visual sneak peak.
    It's a MAN OF STEEL sequel guest starring Batman. Let's just see what February brings....

  If Wonderwoman is introduced correctly I could see it work, as she can try to bring some sense into both of their heads. It could add to the plot, but I wouldn't want it if it takes away from the plot and is gimmicky. Snyder and Goyer bring a modernized version of each character so I hope they improve upon her, and make her more vibrant and realistic in character than the old live action Wonder Woman (the original was better at this than most women) show with a woman with personality instead of the generic "feminist" weak anorexic little girl dike women they keep choosing for these roles so something original instead of the dead casting they keep doing with women with the same generic women actors, or the new woman actors that are even more generic and lazy.

I totally see Mike Sekowsky's Wonder Woman working on the film, with element of the "Agent Diana Prince" for Gail Simone books. I have put on my guess list of the main female role in the film together with WW: Ellen Yindel or Supergirl (with elements on Powergirl), but after that comment now i dont know what to think anymore. I'll just wait ans see that happens. But will be a blast if she really been in the movie!

Again no way. their movies are not as well put together as Marvels (at least at this point) There is no thinking over there at Warner Bros. The MoS movie was a punch into the face of everything that is superman and the decission to make BATMAN ( BATMAN FOR CRHIST SAKE) a guest star in the second MOS movie is showing a Disrespect to fans and source material i didnt know they could archieve. Every new thing they reveal about their plans is basicly : Oh god why?? So yeah..if they keep it up like that they probably make money. But in pure Quality? No way

      Fact is: You haven't seen the movie, so you shouldn't judge it. And just because the average movie-goer won't get, why there's other superheroes around, doesn't mean, that it's disrespectful to the source material (which has other superheroes guest starring like... ALL THE FUCKING TIME!) or the fans (who know about stuff like that). So your point doesn't make any sense.

      My point is: This movie so far is an absolute abbomination for non-comic fans. So why do i say that?
      See in the usa characters like; Nightwing, flash, wonder woman, hawkman so on are well known even outside the Comic-community. People may not know the backstory but they have grasp of the characters and what they look like/who they are. You can backtrace that to the bigger pobularity of comic writers, shops, the whole industry.
      Now lets take Europe for example: We just dont have that much of acceptance and popularity of comics..yet.Sure that will grow like mangas, anime and cartoons did..but we are not even close to the popularty we have in the USA.
      Now where am i going with this: I will take Marvel as an example. Marvel was aware of the things i just explained. They knew: People have probably heard it...but they dont know it. Specially in other countries all over the world. So if we want our movies to be successfull..we have to take people by the hand and say: Here this is this guy. This is a team. Thats how that works.
      They introduced every single member of their Avengers before they made the avengeres movie. Every Single One. And i dont mean: Just show them on screen once and thats it. What i mean is Character Development. A Backstory. They showed you: This is the character, this is what he does and why he does it. Most prominent examples should be the Iron Man movies or Captain America. Now sure they had a few characters that werent like that. Namely: Shield, Hawkeye and Black widdow. But that was for a simple reason. Those were in the Grand scheme of things minor characters or Associates of Shield that served more as a link beetween the heroes and the Goverment. Those were characters you coud explain, through tv shows, comics or further develop in other movies. And to be honest i would love to see a Hawkeye/Black widdow spy-movie.
      That structure had 3 Big Advantages:
      1.You did not have to spend that much time on the single characters and their development, but could rather focous on how they interact each other and the how they deal with the Vililans or Threat.
      2, That way you could also develop a story that could not be contained in a single movie, Thus making your Story arc bigger and More Complex. Something you want to have to develop further stories that split from that Main story and Give you a better setup for Your big Teamup.
      3. You imidiatly had the Chance to develop More and more Movie Franchises, and spin-offs. Iron Man , Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Shield, Hawkeye, Black Widdow. All of them have good material for countless movies.
      And Marvel is still adding! Guardians of the Galaxy and Antman are only 2 Names i want to throw in here. And allt hat still leaves the options open for Movies that they cant make for one reason or the other. Like spider-man or X-men.
      Now lets go back to Dc and their movieverse. And immidiatley if we take everything into account that i just explained we see how plagued with problems that movieverse allready is:
      1. They rush it out like they had something to loose. Which they dont have. I know people will say "oh the Superhero bubble will burst" or "well marvel has so much movies allready". Both those lines are stupid and you know it:
      A. There is no Bubble. Why should there be a bubble? If there is this bubble going on for over 10 years know. People will watch those movies. They allways will. We arent talking about Twilight here, where people where obssesed to the point of insanity. We got kind of Sci-Fi movies here. They existed so long and will still exist for the next 10 or 20 years. Superheroes are a perfect Material for Movies. They can have action, drama, love. Pretty much every tale you ever wanna tell you can tell with a superhero. And Everybody who stops for a second and thinks about it realizes that. People will allways watch Indiana Jones movies. Same here.
      B). So what marvel has movies allready?And they all have been a Success. Yes some more then other but in the end they made more money then the costed and had a nice Profit. So why shouldnt DC do the exact same thing? Make as many movies as possible and make a good Profit instead of half of the movies and probably only do part of the money, Marvel makes. And yes i know that Avengers was the most successfull but do you really belive: MoS: Batman vs Superman and JLA will bring more then all Current Marvel movies together? REALLY?!
      Thats what i mean with beeing realistc. Marvel has the advantage that they started earlier. Nothing you can do about it. So dont try. Call fuck it and structure your own movies. Leave space open for your movies to develop and all of the sudden you notice: People will give a shit about it. People will watch Wonder Woman. People with watch the Flash.
      Use it as marketing for your big Movie. Remember when people went nuts after the Avengers were mentioned in Iron Man? And we werent even close to it! This movie was so hypeded that everybody draged his mother to the cinema. With this movies? The fans will watch it but most people outside the USA probably dont even know who the fuck the JLA is. So theres your marketing. Gone
      2. How are people who dont know comics and just want to enjoy movies get anything that happens in Batman Vs Superman if you bring in cameo after cameo after cameo? I can point that out int he first Scene we will ever see with Nightwing
      Superman: "who is that?
      Batman: "Nightwing My Partner"
      And immidiatley everybody in the Audience goes: "Whot he fuck is nightwing?"
      And you expect that movie to explain it in great Detail to you? 1. Why should it do that? 2. We probably have a run time of 2 - 2 1/2 Hours. And you still got Wonder women and the Flash left. And Batmans Love interest. And Superman And Batman. And the ominous"Clash" of the two. Allready that movies is fucking loaded. So if they just do it in a post credit scene..Fine that will be ok. But considering how desperatley WB is promoting this thing, reading quotes from "The Dark knight Strikes again", Acting highlist actors and publish it on Twitter fucking immidatley and so on..They dont really look like the kings of subtile do they? A Post credit scene should be a "eastergg" something i dont have to see..but something that gives me a little Tease.
      Where we run into the next problem. The Next project after BvsS is JLA. No setup.Nothing. Just BAAAM TEAMUP! BECAUSE MARVEL DID IT! Come on guys if i wanna have a team up i first have to explain the characters individually otherwise: Why should i care about that team at all? Specially if i have to be realistic and admit that not everybody in the world really knows how big this teamup is or what the JLA is in the first place. So many people will probably walk into this thinking: Hey marvel made a new movie! And is that really what you want?
      Also if you tell me they set up all those Characters in "MoS 2 Batman vs Superman" then why is it called that? No really? I know Superman and Batman are the most famous and important (immidiatley degrading Wonder Woman here. Yes she is part of the so called "Trinity") but isnt that a flatout Lie? Like if you told you i would make a Punisher movie and all of the sudden people like the wasp, ultron, modok and all the others show up and you have no fucking clue who the hell those people are but..they are there Deal with it.
      Which brings me to my biggest point: NOT EVERYBODY LIVES INT HE USA. I said it before: Comics are not that popular in other Countries. They just arent. But movies just reach a far bigger Audience then Comics. So its not complelty unlikely that somebody who never read a Batman comic watches a Batman movie. So we all know batman. But whats with Characters like: Flash? Wonder Woman? Martian Manhunter? Green Lantern? Hawkman? Green Arrow? Aquaman?
      I live in germany if you would ask people who those are you probably hear this Answer: "they are comic book guys right? I saw that in the Big Bang Theory..but nope i have no fucking idea what they do..Well Flash runs fast and Aquaman talks to fish right?"
      Sry that i break it for you DC but that is your average Movie goer. These are the guys you throw the "JLA" movie at, despite the fact that they have no fucking idea who you are talking about. Lets see how much people care about your movie then huh? You know after you confused the shit out of them and left them in the dust basicly yeling "Go to wikipedia or Read our Comics. Shithead."
      Thats why i say this movie and Whole current structre of the DC Movieverse is a disaster. They throw so many big names around that mean nothing to the average consumer, that it will end up bombing because the Comic- Community cant take care of it Alone. And people should not require to read fucking Wikipedia to get what happend in your Movie at all.
      So Do i look forward to those movies? As a fan a clear yes. I have my issues with MoS but hey maybe they work it out and i can enjoy my Heroes hanging around with each other. But for the non-comic-book guy who just wants to see some Superheroes beeing awsome? yeah..it seems like you are fucked..

      WOW that was really long and really explanatory and I really enjoyed it LOL. But you have to remember one thing, WB/DC tried to do the whole introduce a not well known hero, and give him his own story instead of using crossovers to introduce characters, with Green Lantern. Now I really liked GL. And at NYCC (New York Comic Con) Geoff Johns admitted that 75% of GL fans enjoyed the movie but wanted more, and about 25% didn't think it did enough at all, but more importantly something like 65-80% of non-GL fans didn't get on board. They generally wanted more action, and also still didn't feel enough of a "connection" to the hero.
      So I think WB/DC is hoping that using two big names almost everyone around the world knows will help the audience connect to the newly introduced characters and still give an excuse for tons of action.
      Honestly I have no clue if it will help or hurt but I thought you break down of the issues and non-American view point both persuasive and interesting.
      If you ever come to NYCC or SDCC I think it would fun to meet and talk to you :-D

  I don't know if I think it disrespectful to make Batman a secondary character, if only because there have been many crossovers in the comic history between the two. BUT I absolutely AGREE that so far WB/DC have shown themselves to be completely low brow and disturbingly soulless when compared to Marvel. I personally don't understand it. It shouldn't be that complicated considering what they were able to produce in the 90's and what Marvel has shown the modern way to do it. But yeah MoS was nauseating and a total "punch in the face to everything that is superman"!!
  Personally I feel they already kicked Bats in Balls and ripped out his soul with the DKR. So making Affleck the new Batman and making him a "secondary" character just doesn't matter cause its all already been shat on so its hard to believe it can get worse...
  I will still pray for something good if not great to come from the WB/DC movie side of things, especially with WW or JL, but I won't expect anything because I am so tired of being disappointed and disgusted with what they offer up.
  For more then half a century comics have been the mythos of the modern age, and that is one of the reasons they have survived and flourished despite the comic codes and censorship and economic down turns and dozens of other factors allied against them as a major literary genre. And yet I don't know anyone who would want there child or even adult friend to learn ethos from DKR or worse yet MoS.

I think the biggest problem with trying to get Wonder Woman right is that the public at large ONLY see Wonder Woman as the 70s TV show. The idea of what Wonder Woman is to comic book fans and what she is to everybody else is widely different. I've had arguments with people who don't believe Wonder Woman can fly.

The tough part for the studio is to make a Wonder Woman that works for both sides. If they made a huge epic rich in Greek mythology with Wonder Woman fighting giant monsters, the comic fans would be like, yeah, there's the Wonder Woman we're used to. But everybody else will be like WTF IS THIS??? WHY ISN'T SHE SPINNING IN A CIRCLE??? WHERE IS THE INVISIBLE JET???

In order for her to have an invisible jet her group would need to have a link with advanced extraterrestrials like Atlantis. She could use it to be a very difficult opponent. For that matter why can't she go invisible? In ancient historical records that influenced mythology there were godlike beings considered deities that had advanced technology like this so they were both supernatural and scientific such as the Lyrans (who were more on the scientific side but also had some supernatural abilities), the Annunaki (they were highly scientific and they also had supernatural abilities as physical godlike beings who still exist but live on another planet), The Atlanteans, the Adamics, and the Ascended Mortals. The Annunaki and some of the Lyrans both have the ability to go invisible and have invisible craft, but I believe the Annunaki to be both a lot more technologically advanced and supernaturally advanced. Technologically and scientifically they're far beyond most physical beings (even the physical beings that also travel to higher realms and have advanced spiritual ESP abilities as the Annunaki can do this and much more), but the Nibiruns who are on the Annunaki's planet are at the same level as the Lyrans overall. The Annunaki are a special royal line of highly advanced beings of 9th density origins while most beings including Nibiruns and Lyrans are 3rd density but are also highly advanced. Superman in these terms would be 3rd density but because of Earth's sun he has advanced abilities most 3rd density beings cannot attain except through technology which most have not thought to do. Because the Annunaki are in physical form, while 9th density beings are usually non-physical, the Annunaki don't have the physical power of Superman but they have spiritual and technological skills that give them very powerful abilities such as they can flood an entire region of the world with their abilities such as what they did with Mesopotamia in 5000BC. The Greek superbeings who were the men and women of renown, the Nephilim, were originally beings who had the genes of Earth Ascended Mortals and were them and their descendents (Many of the Ascended Mortals joined the rebellious atheist Lucifer Rebellion but were still good willed while the Lucifer Rebellion overall has been very evil in it's overall impact). Then there were superbeings with a mix of human blood, Ascended Mortal blood, and Adamic blood. Adam and Eve (who are 14th density but took physical form temporarily) are God the Father's (He's 14th density non-physical) great grand children, and so the Adamic descendents have relation to God the Father with 14th density abilities while the Adamics lived physical lifetimes temporarily. The Ascended Mortals are 8th density physical beings. Enki of the Annunaki mixed in his DNA with a small group of the humans on Earth so you had superhumans that came from him. Lyrans and other extraterrestrials mixed in with humans in small amounts. The Adamics and Ascended Mortals mixed in to humans to a much bigger degree but the best genetic lines of humans on Earth currently only carry 2% of the Adamics and Ascended Mortal DNA in them. The advanced Lyran races that are complete with their genetic upstepping contain 25% of their DNA as Adamic and Ascended Mortal (from their own planets so separate than the ones made for our planet, their Adam and Eve who may have had different names were also great grandchildren of God the Father) but even to that degree they're still 3rd density, while a full blood Ascended Mortal is 8th density and a full blood Adamic is 14th density. Superman and the Kryptonians would be 25% Adamic and Ascended Mortal who were different sets that were sent to their planet and much older than the Adamic and Ascended Mortals that came to our planet. But some planets are more developed or more genetically fitted for certain technologies and abilities when they get to the most advanced stages, or they just developed different abilities and technology because of their differing history and what they have worked up to at any given time. They can also learn more by exchanging information with other physical and non-physical races which truth is universal and so all modes of thought can be learned because all knowledge and wisdom are related to eachother.

Do it, DC! But let it be something like an after-credits scene. Something that doesn't play a substantial role in the movie. Just a tease. One of the reasons why this movie is a brilliant idea is that Bruce and Clark share a complex and interesting relationship and it totally deserves its own space to develop. These three can't be shown together in the same frame! Save the Trinity for JL.
Though, here, Mercy Graves makes much more sense.

I would want Bale but I guess that they wanted to revamp Batman because he was too weak and narrow minded to be the powerful Batman they needed to combat in the DC Universe with the Justice League. I was thinking that the writers could have transformed Bale's Batman into this new direction but the original concept was too set in stone for them to be able to do that. They offered Christian Bale $50 million a movie and he turned it down anyway, and Ben Affleck is the same age as Bale. Everyone complained when they went to make Ben Affleck Batman because of what a lazy actor he is and he doesn't try at all even though he has millions of dollars, everything gay about a person he is.

The 50 million dollar rumor was completely false. If you checked out the source, it was from some random guy who wrote some random eBook lol. Bale was never going to reprise his role and he didn't want to.

  To the other guy I said Bale should come back as Batman, the joke of him being Wonderwoman makes no sense. He's also way bigger than Affleck and could easily kick Affleck's ass in real life. Bale needs to get some Eastern healing with a good whole food athletic nutrition and supplementation plan along with a better training system that can be sustained with even much better results than what's he's currently getting. Unlike Affleck, Bale is real. I can't even see Affleck being a good Bruce Wayne, Affleck is the definition of a lazy stupid Hollywood actor that collects a paycheck and nothing in his career stands out for him to be billed with the name they're trying to bill him with. Robert Downey Jr. made $50 million for Avengers and Batman is still considered more popular than Iron Man while Batman has always been the most popular comic book superhero with the 3 big super heroes currently being Batman, Iron Man, and Spiderman. If the movies are made good Batman will make the same amount of money as an Iron Man movie, and if Batman is focused on enough he'll make the Justice League a lot of money as he should be the central character to the team. But the reason Marvel can pay Robert Downey Jr. so well is that they're more established with their movies and all of their movies are consistently making a lot more money, while DC is still just getting started with the movies and aren't projecting the same amount of profit with as many different superhero franchises as Marvel is currently. Superman barely did better than Thor even with as good as the Superman movie was but the first Thor movie was really good and the sequel should be excellent. Thor was integral to Avengers and he's one of Marvel's best superheroes. Why didn't Man of Steel make $1 billion? But then again audiences are always skeptical of a DC film so Man of Steel could have pleased the audiences and the next sole Superman title may make $1 billion while Batman vs. Superman will make $1 billion or more. A lot of people don't realize the Batman is the most popular comic book superhero. He's probably the first major superhero too to make it into comic books, and Superman is the first major superhero with super powers. Audiences were skeptical of Batman Begins which is why not as many people went to see it, but after they saw how good it was a lot more people went to see The Dark Knight in movie theaters. With where they're taking Batman with Justice League as being in his 40s Ra's is a little too weak now unless he has some new stuff up his sleeve and if they bring in the Sacred Order of Saint Dumas in the next movie but Batman is more powerful than Azbat in this part of the time continuity with Batman vs. Superman and audiences may feel Ra's is overdone. Vandal Savage may be a good villain but for Justice League I'd say major villains would be Legion of Doom (with guys like Shazam and Brainiac), Darkseid and Apokolips (bring in Genesis), Vandal Savage, and Gog and Magog with their army of radical super humans. Doomsday can be a standalone Superman villain. If you make Batman this important of a character this will also greatly boost Superman's popularity and bring him to the next level. Bring in Lobo as an anti-hero and as a supporting character. Add in Steel as apart of Justice League and use his original outfit, he's pretty cool too. Cyborg is pretty cool. The previous Steel movie sucked. The Justice League cast is: Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman, Flash, Aquaman (He's good if he's done right, he's also an excellent superhero outside of the water), Green Arrow (I don't care for him but he's the only other human on the team), Cyborg (he's a great hacker and scientist), Martian Manhunter (I don't know if he's necessary), and Green Lantern. They could add Steel. Other great superheroes are 1993 Superboy Con-El/Connor, Kara Zor-El Supergirl, and Lobo. Krypto is neat. They might make a Titans/Young Justice movie who I think are the same idea of younger members in which Lobo also interacted with and Superboy, Nightwing, and Supergirl were apart of. If I were DC I would focus on the bigger superhero names, and the other superheroes I'd just put in with the teams. The biggest names would be Batman, Superman, Flash, Wonderwoman, and Lobo (if he's done right). Secondary big name superheroes are Supergirl, Shazam (but I'd make it to where he's a hero but also works for Lex Luthor although his intentions aren't evil when working for Lex Luthor it's just he considers what Lex Luthor is doing is necessary) Green Lantern, Nightwing, and Aquaman (If he's done right which you have better chances of getting Lobo right). They can make 3 DC movies a year which is what Marvel is doing. In the years with more competition they can introduce the characters that aren't as popular, and then the years with less competition they can put out the big superhero names and team groups. It's good that DC is coming in as a competitor in the movies because with competition Marvel will try harder, and DC will try a lot harder too. Without competition the companies won't try as much. DC has still been doing very good up to this point in time. DC should team up with Image and do some of their major movies too DC is doing 3 movies a year. What DC can do to save money on each movie is by limited the frames per a second by a lot less, if you limit the frames per second by 5 times the makes it to where the budget costs 5 times less. It's also been found that movies with a lot less frames per a second make a lot more money. It costs an extreme amount of money to put in so many special effects per a frame, so if there's 40 frames per a second for example as opposed to 200 frames per a second there's so many less frames to work with, and fans don't notice those extra frames so it just becomes tedious and expensive. It also looks better when you do motion capture and make your own set pieces and then add in CGI to those pieces while it also looks a lot more genuine, real, and also costs a lot less, instead of doing 100% CGI. That's what J.J. Abrams is doing with the next 3 Star Wars movies with the better movie making techniques I just mentioned.

  Marvel has had 3 excellent years so far in 2011, 2012, and 2013 all of which had 3 movies released a year while 2014 and 2015 will also be excellent years. 2013 will have 3 movies released in it again and 2014 will have 4 Marvel films released in it. There are so many details to a film I just focus on some of the key things but there's so many factors to what makes these movies so successful input from all sources is warranted. Here's how well the Marvel movies did in the box office worldwide gross for the years I mention. 2011 made $1,173,520,516. 2012 made $2,396,538,397. 2013 isn't done yet but 2 out of 3 movies made $1,604,025,387 and by the end of 2013, the 2013 Marvel movies will make from $2.2 billion to $2.5 billion. 2002 made $1 billion, 2003 made $800 million, 2004 made $1 billion, 2007 made $1,408,657,782, 2008 made $850 million. A lot of the years I didn't mention made from $400 million to $600 million with just one Marvel franchise in those years. Out of 30 Marvel movies since 1986 it has cost $3,776,000,000 to make the movies and the movies have a combined box office world wide gross of $12,440,000,000 which means they make 3.3 times more money than they cost to create. If you count since 1998 then it cost $3,739,000,000 to make 29 movies that have a total combined box office worldwide gross of $12,402,000,000 in just 15 years, and by the end of this year with Thor: The Dark World it will be atleast $13 billion in just 15 years, or if you count since 1986 with just one other movie it's not that much more money but the Marvel movies didn't start making a lot of money until 2002 which means most of that money wasn't made until the last 11 years with 27 movies at $11,974,576,943 (each movie makes $443,502,850 on average) costing $3,619,000,000 (costing $134,037,037 a movie on average) which means each movie makes 3.3 times the amount it cost to create on average.

Not if they get someone that should do the role. Heath Ledger was a different story and he turned out to be good, but with all of his other generic roles I could see why people were skeptical. But with Heath Ledger you got the feeling he was going to do what it took to be the Joker even though you didn't know anything about his career.

I just don't understand why WB/DC can do good accurate animation, and pretty damn good and accurate TV shows (reasonably accurate at least, the characters aren't mangled and practically unrecognizable in action, word, and ethics) BUT when it comes to movies they can't make anything but big budget crap? No soul, no heart, no actual heroes!
I am terrified of any wonderwoman that comes from them at this point. I mean Marvel makes it look easy and simple. Take a comic arch (basically already set up like a movie storyboard) and follow it. Don't try to change who the characters are or what they do (cause you think if you make more dark its mor real). Just leave the comic heroes as comic heroes!!
I mean I know part of Avengers was the awesomeness that is Joss but the Ironmans and Caps and Thors were pretty damn good and accurate and truly heroic. Its like WB/DC just can't pull there head out of their own egos enough to leave the Characters as they have always been.
