After nearly one month of silence, Ben Affleck finally talked about being cast as Batman in 2015's Batman vs. Superman. Affleck was a guest tonight on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to promote his new movie Runner Runner, but Fallon quickly brought up the big casting news. Affleck talked about how excited he was, and his meeting with director Zack Snyder. Affleck even addressed his "haters", and funny enough... Warner Bros. actually prepared him for negative feedback. I was actually one of the few that loved the choice of Affleck as Batman. However, after watching this interview i'm a little concerned about one of his comments - "I feel like now I have a lot of opportunities which is great..." That kind of tells me that one of the main reasons he chose the role was obviously the amount of cash he is going to put in his pocket but also that he is going to have his own directorial efforts funded by WB. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing I know the smart actors are also smart business people, so it's a great business move, but I just hope he has his heart in it as much as his mind is. I want him to love the character as much as we do as fans. Anyways, enough with my rant I am pulling for him and hope he does great and proves everyone wrong.
P.S. - I LOVE THE FACT THAT HE WILL BRING HIS EXCELLENT WRITING AND DIRECTING SKILLS TO THE SET TO HELP SNYDER AND GOYER. AND THAT HE WILL MORE THAN LIKELY BE ALSO DIRECTING THE BATMAN REBOOTED SERIES!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THOSE FILMS!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is all too soon. The production/reboot of a new Batman movie after Chris Nolan's trilogy is an insult to all those who were involved in its creation from the dressing room to behind the camera.

Why does everyone think they can only like one Batman. It's the weirdest thing. It's either you hate Bale and love Affleck or hate Affleck and love Bale. What the fuck is wrong with some people? It's so bizarre.
I also wish there was like a bullshit cleaner or something lmao that clears away comments like these. Very rarely does it end with satisfaction because people are too narrow minded nowadays, especially with comic book characters, to come up with a proper solution or even a normal debate. Hell, people rarely start to see the other person's view. Look at that prick up there, Javon or something. All he's doing is annoying people. There comes a point where giving your opinion stops, and spamming begins. Opinion is great, but people refuse to back it up even if someone calls them out on it, they just continue saying "That person sucks" or "He can't act". Pfft if that's what people call opinions nowadays, it's pretty damn sad.

Some people are very close-minded. I'm the first to admit that when I first heard Affleck was the new Batman, it worried me. But after a few hours I realised that this movie could be anything, they haven't even started filming yet. It's no use freaking out about it or stressing for the next 2 years until the movie comes out. I'm actually excited to see what Affleck could do with it now. If it sucks, then I'll bitch and moan.

And oh the haters just can't stop hating. Javon Cooper and the rest of you STILL losing it: everything is and is going to be okay. Did you know that? Even if the movie sucks, which, you know, again--there isn't yet a movie, but even if it sucks, you will be okay. You won't die. The bad movie won't give you terminal cancer. You'll still likely get three square meals the day it comes out and the sun will rise the next day. Can you believe it? Life will go on, sweet children, life will go on. Each year, lots and lots of bad movies get made--again, we don't KNOW that this one will be bad--but never has a bad movie killed or hurt anyone. And guess what else sweet children? No one will force you to see the film. If you don't want to, you don't have to go! Further reason to simply stop losing it and stop being afraid. Bye now.

For all you crybabies out there that probably don't even know about the industry, but I do because I'm an actor myself: after seeing this I'm confident, because actors most of the time are not responsible for a bad script, bad photography, bad directing, etc. I'm thrilled to find out what Ben's capable of, based on the trend of Internet Crybabies talking crap about someone then eating their own poop once the movie comes out and the actor(s) deliver.

Probably closer to February since that's when they start shooting and they probably don't want our first look at Batman to be from set photos. I can't wait!

I think it is truly, truly sad that the studio had to prepare Ben Affleck for the backlash they were expecting. So that means the studio was expecting the pointless, irrational, and immature "petitions" and the hatred, and the ridiculous comments. No actor should ever have to be "prepared" for hatred. Honestly, I think Ben handled it and is still handling it well. Granted, I am sure he is offended by the comments and maybe a bit scared. I could tell he was a little nervous once Jimmy brought up the Batman thing. I sincerely think he wants to do the best he can and wants to please the fans. The fact that people are upset because he was being "comical" and didn't take his interview seriously is stupid. No one takes an interview on Jimmy Fallon seriously. That isn't the place for serious conversations, or to address some of the undeserving fans who have criticized him from the beginning. I am sure that once they start filming, and during Comic Con, we'll get the more "appropriate" responses that some are wanting. But viewing some of the comments on this post just prove why Ben has probably been ignoring the fans and aren't respecting them like they feel they deserve. Some aren't respecting HIM. Maybe if you respect him, you'll get what you want.

I love the fact about Ben Affleck been excited of what Zack Snyder is doing, its a great indication about the film been following the same great quality of 'Man of Steel'. And his answer was awesome, nice see him taking the situation with good humor, and was a good point Warner preparing him for the backlash. I'll believe we will se a different Batman of Bale, but still keep the good track.
